I seem to have accumulated quite a collection of real weddings that readers and vendors alike have sent to me. Although I would love to post them all, there are simply not enough days in a week!

So for today, I thought that we would do something fun with a handful of them. I am going to feature tablescapes from some of my favorite real weddings throughout the day…tables that are all over the map in terms of budget, style and design. You guys can leave a comment on any of those that you would like to see more of and I will feature the full wedding in the next couple of days!

So let’s get to it! This first table is simple, charming and completely approachable…

I’m always thinking about what a Hatch Inspired table would look like. While I could come up with 100 different designs, my first of many Hatch inspired tables began by using elements we like to consider Hatch signature elements. From mini nests, moss and tree stumps we feel right at home at this table. Stay tuned for future Hatch inspired tables. If you have any ideas you’d like to see us try please let us know!

Color Palettes Questions – Peach or Orange?

Another reader question….I’m getting married in April 2009 and wanted to use orange and white for my wedding. However, after changing from a white dress to a different colored dress — the official name of the color is shell — I’m wondering if the bright orange is still a good choice. I was thinking perhaps a peach color might work better but I’m at a loss. Any ideas?

What do you think…does orange still work as an accent color or should she move more towards a peach hue?

Abby’s Answer…I am going to go out on a limb here and say that I love the idea of bringing in peaches AND oranges to compliment the shell color of her gown. I do think that using just orange would be stunning, but I am also a big proponent of varying the hues within a palette to add a sense of dimension.

I will say though, that it kind of depends on the style of the wedding. If this bride is going modern, orange should be the primary hue. Clean lines using calla lilies, contemporary place settings, sleek vases and such. If she is going more romantic, I think that peach should be the hue…

Antique Chic Table Settings

First, let me start by saying, I loooooove today’s post! Renny Pedersen, of Bliss Weddings and Events in Chicago, emailed me some photos from a recent photo shoot collaboration with Hello Darling Events, for Bride and Bloom Magazine…she coined this look “Antique Chic” with a color palette of Cerise Pinks, Lemon Yellows and Metallic Gold…

How much do you love this table? It’s so dreamy and feminine…so ethereal and romantic. I think that the infusion of gold into the palette creates such a rich, warm look and yet the whole style still seems youthful and fun. You can click on the photo to see the detail in each shot. From the floral chandelier to the perfectly arranged table…every detail seems thoughtful and unique. Thank you so much to Bliss Weddings and Hello Darling Events for sharing this with us!
