When I saw the board that our next From Inspiration to Reality team chose, I was a little excited. Okay, I was bursting at the seams. It was the first really modern, high style, totally glam board that had been chosen... [MORE]

From Inspiration to Reality: The Design, IV

The very first From Inspiration to Reality feature that we did blew my socks off. It was incredible for me to see an inspiration board that a reader designed literally come to life. I left the shoot feeling like I was on top of the world, not to mention more motivated than I've ever been in my entire life. To see something so beautiful that was designed exclusively for Style Me Pretty is humbling, it's... [MORE]

From Inspiration to Reality: The Design, III

December 2nd. 2009 by Abby Larson | 26 comments

I am so thrilled that one of our readers, Kate, designed a board that could inspire such loveliness. This shoot is the perfect example of how to use an inspiration board to translate an entire wedding. It's about designing a feeling, a vibe. It's finding beauty in the details and bringing them to life through decor, through flowers, through fashion and style. And... [MORE]

I am generally blown away by the work that our Little Black Book members are putting out there. I am rarely surprised. But this shoot...totally surprised, totally inspired, totally motivated me to get up really early and start blogging away. The From Inspiration to Reality Shoot was put together by two of our favorite LBB members, Millie Holloman... [MORE]

From Inspiration to Reality: The Design

December 2nd. 2009 by Abby Larson | 31 comments

Every now and then I am at a loss for words. It happens rarely and is usually brought on by something so pretty that I simply can't find a way to properly describe just how much I love it. Thus is the case with today's photo shoot. What I can say is that this shoot is the reason that I love what I do so very much. It's the reason that I feel so incredibly lucky to work in an industry with people that create, people that inspire. It's the reason that I walk around with a smile on my face every... [MORE]

From Inspiration to Reality: The Design, Part III

October 23rd. 2009 by Abby Larson | 14 comments

There were quite a few really amazing vendors that took the time to contribute in HUGE ways to our shoot. For one, the lovely and oh so talented Yumiko of Hana Floral Design did all of the flowers for us, focusing on simple, adorable blooms. She used carnations, which are a super cute and really affordable alternative, that she packed tightly into little, red latte bowls. She also used ranunculus, dahlias and spider mums tucked... Shabby Chic Wedding by Jessica Claire

October 15th. 2009 by Abby Larson | 15 comments

I am LOVING all of the super dreamy photo shoots that we've been featuring on SMP lately. They are kind of like we dreamed up this perfect day and brought it to life. And although I had absolutely nothing to do with this particular shoot, I am MADLY in love. Photographed by Jessica Claire, it's just about as sweet as it gets. It's Anthropologie meets Shabby Chic meets total perfection. Plus, they even used the adorable... [MORE]

Fashion Installation

August 6th. 2009 by Abby Larson | 4 comments

I though that this crazy fashion shoot captured by Josh over at Bella Grace was just the thing to get us all smiling and wedding happy. The fashion photoshoot was done for Andrea Glass's newest creations...including that insanely fun head-piece. The flowers were done by Boston's Floral Couture. You can see more photos from this spread on... [MORE]

Tables by Salt Harbor Designs

July 31st. 2009 by Abby Larson | 22 comments

I am OBSESSED with these table settings that the amazing talented Jennifer Rose-Sandy of Salt Harbor Designs conceptualized for a recent photoshoot. Absolutely, positively gorgeous. The shoot took place at a little house on a brand new event property at Orton, built in the 1800's. It was originally occupied by a farm hand and his family, though not sits empty except... [MORE]
