Kristen and Hunter were married on May 15, 2010 at The Point Lake and Golf Club in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Their wedding is the epitome of detail-rich, family & friend oriented, super-stylish, sweet-hearted weddings! From the soft pinks of her bridesmaids dresses to her elegant Modern Trousseau gown … from the pearls & baby’s breath to the over-the-top-adorable flower girl … Kristen’s wedding is the ultimate in southern charm!

Once again, for our loyal readers … you know that we showcased some of Kristin Vining’s fantastic work at the Miami Mondrian Hotel. Two dear friends, Kristen and Lindsey flew with Kristin Vining for the time of their lives! They did both of their fantastical bridal shoots ~ together!!  Lindsey’s wedding was showcased on SMP and the Little Black Book Blog previously, but because Kristen’s wedding wasn’t until this past May, we had to hold back a bit to shine the lights on her and Hunter’s equally gorgeous affair!!

And today, that is exactly our plan! Kristen’s detail-drenched celebration ….

Wedding and reception were at The Point Lake & Golf Club …

Planned with the assistance of Alyse Woodward Events, Kristen and Hunter’s wedding was overflowing with sweetest, the softest, and the most thoughtful details ….

Remember the cigars from their engagement shoot? When you read a bit of their story (below), you’ll find that cigars were an important part of the celebration!

Our enormous congratulations to Kristen and Hunter on a magnificent and heart-felt celebration of marriage!!

from Kristen …  the planning process was easy and very fun! I quickly decided that we would have a signature drink table, candy buffet, cigar bar, wish tree table, and escort card table. With all these tables and areas in mind, I started EARLY on with DIY projects for each one of them. From summer of 2009 to beginning of 2010 we made drink umbrellas, rose petal boxes, ceremony programs, cigar bar picture backdrops, fabric panel backdrops for the candy buffet, menu cards, table numbers, and escort cards. We were all about making decisions and getting stuff DONE early! I was big on not having anything hanging over our heads the month before the wedding so that we could really enjoy this time and it paid off for sure!

Everything about our wedding was US! We love Lake Norman and talk often about how our next home will be on the Lake. We knew we wanted outdoor space and chose The Point Lake and Golf Club without looking at any other venues. When I was growing up, my dad used to tell me if I was going to be the CEO of a big bank I needed to know how to drink a good scotch and smoke a cigar with the men. He and I often bonded over cigars on our front porch. Hunter’s family is big cigar smokers themselves so we knew instantly that would be incorporated into our wedding somehow.

I’m a girly-girl so pink was for sure to be part of our color scheme and Hunter’s a good ole southern boy so an amazing band was his must have. It was those three things that made our wedding US and made our wedding unique. Our guests throughout the night, in one big pack, moved from the dance floor, to the cigar bar, to the candy buffet, and then back onto the dance floor. We were left with no candy, no cigars and some tired feet! It was all more perfect than we could have EVER imagined.

Here are a few quick screen shots from the film…

First, a little bit from Jewel Savadelis …

Emily and Danny, a well traveled couple that share a passion for great food and company, held their nuptuals at the beautiful Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Half Moon Bay on October 7, 2008. Emily celebrated her independence by choosing to walk down the aisle by herself, before exchanging personalized vows with Danny on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Emily’s favorite uncle sketched the ceremony as it was happening and presented the newlyweds the finished drawing during the reception. Their wedding featured a modern Asian Zen garden theme with details such as Taiwanese mung beans creatively incorporated into the floral arrangements that represented their culture and heritage. The ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton was transformed into a warm and inviting setting, with champagne colored drapery, Asian lanterns hung above the dance floor, and a mixture of kings, queens, and round tables topped by orchids, hydrangeas, roses, and river rocks. The 260 guests were treated to an elaborate 4-course dinner consisting of unique choices like Lobster Salad, Crispy Suckling Pig with Cassoulet, Baby Lamb Chops and Seared Sea Bass. After dinner, the guests took to the dance floor, piled into the photo booth, and enjoyed the elaborate dessert buffet which featured 17 specialty items such as green tea panna cotta, coconut tapioca, and passion mango gel.

So now … be prepared to grin for three straight minutes as you watch their movie! {make sure the sound is on}

How fantastic was that! SO fun.

They’re not just there to take a video of the events … they’re there to capture the emotions, the expressions, the feelings … of the entire celebration! Putting it all together in a fashion that is unique and suited to each couple’s personalities is when the real skill comes in.  And that is where the Savadelis’ shine. I love the scroll work, the kind of culturally inspired touches that totally take this look to a new level. Next is the oh-so-gorgeous Vintage Travel…

The photos to the right show just how beautifully designed each piece is. There is NOTHING like good letterpress, it screams luxury. The next gorgeous invitation from the new collection is called Seaside Coast and although it’s so new, they haven’t had a chance to shoot pictures, you can tell that it will be completely fabulous in print…

And finally, my personal fav from today’s foursome…Cosmos!

LOVE! There is just something so beautiful about Peculiar Pair’s invitations. They have this perfect balance of timeless style with a modern charm that really sets them apart. And to be perfectly honest, pictures hardly do their designs justice. They are printed on the most beautiful paper…with deep letterpress impressions, gorgeous inks and flawless design. You’d think that I was working for them, but no…I just really love their invitations!
