Found via Oh Joy, I fell completely in love with this flower shot by the incredible Denise Grunstein. It could inspire an entire wedding style…a romantic, almost eclectic bohemian style complete with huge floor pillows for guests to lounge on, a cold sangria for guests to sip and a solo guitarist setting the mood. I love that one single picture could literally be the jumping off point for an entire look. Thanks Joy for sharing!

A Brooklyn Wedding: Stage 6 At Steiner Studios

When you think of the golden hues and sizzling colors of fall, Brooklyn may not be the first place that pops into your mind.

Question: If you add a chic, modern, state-of-the-art production facility overlooking the Brooklyn Navy Yard to the mix … what do you have?

Answer: A magnificent fall wedding … from one of our favorite Little Black Book photographers, Karen Wise.

Jane and Bryan’s posh city event took place at Stage 6 at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn NY. This place is incredible.

Stage 6 is the newest venue of Abigail Kirsch, a world renowned caterer and author of The Bride and Groom’s First Cookbook!

A few more of the specifics: Jane’s the maids’ gowns were by Jim Hjelm, shoes by Stuart Weitzman. Hairpiece is by Myran Callan of Twigs and Honey (Etsy). The gorgeous fall florals were by Atlas Florist.

Joy D. Cho (Oh Joy!) designed the entire stationery suite from start to finish. How gorgeous is this! Her designs never cease to amaze us.

The Caramel Sea Salt Brownies were from Mari’s NY (you’ll drool at the brownies on their website!).

Found Inspirations

I am constantly inspired by other bloggers. Not just wedding bloggers…design bloggers, photography bloggers, food bloggers, the works. And Oh Joy! is one of my first morning pit stops. I actually became hooked when I stumbled upon the pictures from her wedding that we posted today…but have since fallen in love over and over again.

Take Max Wanger for example. Discovered via Oh Joy!, these engagement shots of Joanna Goddard are complete perfection…

Or Robert Sukrachand…another Oh Joy! find. His work has just the right balance of elegance and whimsy. Simplicity and personality. Robert’s blog and website are absolute eye candy…

Joy’s eye for style and design is unmatched and I thank her from the bottom of my heart for continuing to thrill me day in and day out. And of course, for sharing her big day with us.

Lastly, you guys really have to check out our Little Black Book Blog today. Hollye Schumacher (an incredible photographer out of Phoenix) is sharing tips on looking your best in those scary first photographs…the engagement portraits! It’s a must-read for sure.

Real Wedding: Oh Joy!

Happy New Years everyone! This is going to be a great year…I can just feel it. Of course, with a new year, comes new resolutions. I am keeping it simple this year. One, get a hobby. I’ve decided to finally learn how to use my gorgeous Canon Rebel camera using my little girl, Audrey, as constant inspiration. And secondly, stay connected with friends. I have this terrible habit of never picking up my phone and even more so, never checking my messages. Well, that laziness is a thing of the past. Mark my word.

So those are my personal resolutions…my SMP resolutions are much, much more exciting. I don’t want to tell you too much just yet, but I will say that we are working really hard behind the scenes to create an incredibly beautiful, really useful, wonderfully innovative site for all of you. In the coming months we are going to be rolling out features that will knock your socks off! I promise!

But for today…I thought that I would celebrate all of this blogging goodness with a wedding from one of my FAVORITE bloggers! Joy Deangdeelert Cho of the fabulous Oh Joy!

This wedding is pretty much as good as it gets. Designed by someone who is so ridiculously talented and photographed by one of our favorite Little Black Book photographers, Karen Wise, every detail is captured to perfection. So much more to come from Joy’s gorgeous wedding.

One of our very favorite vendors, Bella Figura, just launched a brand spanking new website! It’s filled with the most beautiful designs you have ever seen…perfectly letterpressed, on perfectly gorgeous papers, using the most perfectly fabulous artistry you can imagine.

Wedding Paper Divas

I get a lot of emails from brides requesting chic, but affordable invitations. In my opinion, the BEST source for budget friendly but oh-so-fabulous invitations is Wedding Paper Divas. Hands down. They have a huge array of lower, to mid-priced invitations that are incredibly sophisticated design-wise and give you the chance to infuse your wedding stationery with color, personality and most of all…style!

I have to say, I am floored by the selections of styles that Wedding Paper Divas feature. From the whimsical and brightly colored, to the more sophisticated and elegant…there literally is something for every personality, within every budget, from about $1.50 a piece to $15 a piece depending on the printing method you choose.

Without a doubt though, my favorite invitations on the Wedding Paper Diva s site are those designed by Joy Deangdeelert Cho of Oh Joy! and Nanauka Joy. She has such a beautiful design sense…one part vintage chic, one part complete sophistication and her line of invitations for WPD is spot on perfection…

R. Wood Studio

So, I am being a little cheap today, but the post on R. Wood Studio, over at Oh Joy, was just too pretty to resist! R. Wood Studio is this incredible little company out of Athens, Georgia that crafts the most gorgeous pieces of everyday and special occasion ceramics. Believe me when I tell you that the owner Rebecca, and her 12 artists, are enormously talented and in my opinion, create work that is as beautiful as it is timeless.

Anyway, Rebecca recently did a feature on A Country Wedding that was so beautiful, I just had to share it.

Okay, now take a look at the GORGEOUS ceramics…and, even more exciting, they have a bridal registry!
