And finally, how can we even discuss the Little Black Dress without paying homage to the ever classic, black and white palette. Of course, this next palette was inspired by the AMAZING Lisa Vorce wedding that we featured just a couple of days ago. Take a basic black and white palette…throw in some incredible mercury glass and a splash of zebra. Suddenly, your look is ultra chic and incredibly modern.

I know that it’s way beyond many budgets out there, but look to the style of the day for inspiration. Whether it’s the antique silver, white and black palette or the collection of vintage china, there are so many ways to incorporate this type of look into a more modest affair.
I am generally smitten with all things Lisa Vorce. And today, she’s taken it to a new level. The wedding that we are featuring is pure magic, but it’s the photos…oh the photos, that really tell the story. Docuvitae was introduced to me by Lisa and I have to say, their work is absolutely gorgeous.
The black and whites really allow the emotion of the day to shine through. They have that old world, kind of forever classic look that makes the entire affair seem so romantic. If you haven’t already, spend some time looking at the Docuvitae site…it’s filled with beautiful images that convey such romance, such inspiration.

As the final surprise of the evening…my dear friends at the Vanilla Bake Shop set up the most insane “Marie Antoinette” inspired dessert bar which was devoured within minutes. Beyond all the gorgeous decor…I have to say working with Sara and Ian, and their amazing families made everything that much more special. Their wedding was such an extraordinary celebration of love, and Sara and Ian were an absolute blast to work with. We miss our daily e-mails and calls with them!! Thank you as well to Laura and her amazing team at Docuvitae for capturing the event so beautifully. The images are simply stunning!

And our main focal point…the two amazing white swans in the center pool. Sara absolutely had to have white swans at her wedding…so thanks to Bob Dunn’s Animal Service…we delivered two stunning white swans who performed beautifully!
After a week of pink, I am totally ready to kick up my feet and basque in the glory of a white inspired wedding. And this one, by Lisa Vorce of Oh How Charming! is just about as beautiful as they get.
I am sure that most of you know by now that I have such a love affair with Lisa’s work. She is pure talent and the weddings that she crafts are beyond belief. Remember Elizabeth Messina’s wedding that Lisa designed? Genius.

Real Wedding by Oh How Charming!
I have a few more fun pictures from today’s Lisa Vorce designed, Oh How Charming! wedding. I know that I have said this a million times in the past, but I am just continually in awe of Lisa and her talents. Her events are always beyond chic, beyond sophisticated and yet completely intimate. There just aren’t enough words in my vocabulary to properly describe how I feel about her events. So, I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves…
And, a few more details from Lisa… Catering was provided by the fabulous team at Food Art Events. Their food not only tastes amazing - but it is styled beautifully as well. Their custom signature cocktails are also to die for! The linens were provided by Tabella. I designed three “tablescapes” - so we used a combination of white crinkle linen with chartreuse crinkle runners, chocolate brown pintuck linens, and white crinkle runners — depending on the table.
I am so excited to write the third issue of our “An Inspired Affair…” series. This wedding is one of the most gorgeous weddings that I have ever seen. Seriously.
The dream team that helped us create this inspiration board, was none other than Lisa Vorce at Oh How Charming! and photographer, Elizabeth Messina. Have you ever seen anything like this? The vibrant colors paired with crisp whites, the simplicity but sheer extravagance, the sophistication but complete whimsy. I love it. Love it.
I get so many requests for help in choosing color palettes…it seems like so many soon-to-be’s have a hard time bringing colors together that work and that make sense aesthetically. For example, you may love orange and chocolate brown, but when brought together, you realize that they have a close resemblance to candy corn at Halloween.
So today, I wanted to start a series of posts that I am going to do on choosing color palettes for your wedding. I absolutely love the two that I have chosen for today and think that they are perfect for a Spring or Summer wedding .
It’s all in the details. I admit, a bit cliche, but when it comes to a wedding, it’s so true. Chances are, most of your guests won’t remember the pretty flowers you placed in the bathroom or the flawless topiaries that covered up corners, the crisp linen napkins that are the perfect shade of green or the pattern on your cake that took weeks to design. What they will notice, however, is the big picture…the style. And most of the time, that style is the result of many, many beautiful details that you thoughtfully infuse into various elements throughout the entire affair.
