Destination Wedding by Zoom Photography, II

I wanted to share a few more images and details from the Napa Valley wedding that Lauri Levenfeld shot…

More details from the bride…

During the ceremony, the officiant, a retired judge who is a family friend and who also happened to be my trial advocacy teacher in law school, remarked that our first encounter reminded him of the song “Some Enchanted Evening” from South Pacific. This inspired our friend Matt, an extraordinarily talented singer, to perform the song for us later in the evening, since he coincidentally had the track for it in his car.  He was hesitant to do so at first, since it had not been planned, but when he heard the last lines of my toast, which happened to mirror the last lines of the song, he decided he could not let the opportunity pass.  It was one of our favorite moments of the evening.

Destination Wedding by Zoom Photography

Today we are celebrating the launch of our Destination Guide, the Little Black Book’s newest addition. Some may consider a destination wedding one that guests have to travel far and wide to attend, one that is planned on some incredible beach in the middle of nowhere, one that is incredibly difficult to plan but so romantic to attend.

But, that isn’t really what this guide is about. Although all of the vendors listed will travel far and wide, wherever your wedding may take you, they will also travel twenty minutes outside of town to the cute winery near your house or an hour down the road to a great resort. To SMP, destination weddings simply mean that they aren’t in your own backyard. They are usually weekend weddings, those where guests stay to enjoy the scenery and of course, the company.

Real Wedding - Sasha Souza Events, Brooke and Mark, III

Continuing on with the real wedding by Sasha Souza Events!

***

Because April brings unpredictable weather, cocktails were held in a clear tent on the grounds of the winery.  Guests were treated to a variety of specialty hors d’oeuvres such as lobster cones with caviar, chilled pea soup with crab stuffed green peas and cheve wine country wontons with apricot dipping sauce – they also indulged on cheese, antipasto and other delicacies on a station.  Escort cards were arranged on custom made picks gleaming with crystals and set in moss.

Here is a bit more from Sasha Souza Events

The bride’s gown is couture Vera Wang with hand sewn crystals accented under the first layer of tulle and along the waist. It was a traditional a-line gown but the crystals underneath gave it just the right amount of sizzle. The flower girls wore petite garlands of baby spray roses and carried kissing balls to match but the mother’s carried very petite nosegays down the aisle with pin accents.

Ask Abby

I thought that you guys could help me tackle some of the Ask Abby (we are changing the name from Dear Abby so as not to get confused with the real deal “Dear Abby”) questions that have been building up in my inbox. The last few weeks of questions have focused on color palettes, though in reality, wedding colors are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to tough decisions couples make throughout the wedding planning process. Here are a few brides that have hit stumbling blocks along the way….

Here are a few more photos from today’s featured wedding shot by Jessamyn Harris

I have to say, this is one of the best weddings that I have seen lately…it’s so very important for couples to infuse their wedding with their own unique personality and perspective. This wedding does just that…and with style and elegance to boot. I love the juxtaposition of the traditional, elegant elements with the edgy, spirited details.

Real Wedding by Jessamyn Harris

One of my favorite photographers, Jessamyn Harris, sent me this wedding a few days ago…needless to say, I went completely nuts. This is the perfect example of a fun loving couple, infusing their personalities into otherwise elegant affair. The end result is a wedding that screams fun and yet is still oh-so-chic…
