Elyse and Steven chose the rustic but elegant setting of Annadel Estate Winery for their very intimate wedding of 60 (mostly family). Elyse is a floral designer and prepared all the flowers for her wedding herself.  Melissa of MAP Events and staff  set it all up, following her hand-drawn schematics, on the day, so she could be the bride!  Got Light, Paula Le Duc Fine Catering, Pick Pocket Ensemble, and DJ Nik, and photographer Ingrid Nelson of Myrtle & Marjoram did their small part to make this a perfect wedding.  Even threat of rain did not deter.  Both moms made the wedding cake and the groom’s sister did the hair & makeup!  Even Mike Banda of Golden State Portables (also a relative) contributed extra clean fancy portables!! Every family should be so talented!

As a photographer, this wedding was practically a dream come true. First, working with Melissa always promises a seamless and spectacular event. Second, having a gorgeous couple doesn’t hurt. And third, Annadel Estate is stunningly beautiful and varied in its backdrops, with everything close together, guests can wander from the ruins to the lawn, to the pathways under the oaks. The barn is worn, wooden, and textured, so of course we took lots of photos there. And I loved how the softness of the flowers and décor and her dress contrasted against the rustic environment. The grey morning turned into sunshine by afternoon and it was a magic evening, navy blue sky and the biggest moon.

Sara and Ted just celebrated their one year anniversary on October 3rd and I realized that in the past year I never got a chance to share these beautiful photos with anyone. Sara and Ted were both living in NY, so the wedding was a destination and a weekend celebration. Their wedding had such a lovely fall / harvest feel to it, I figured there might be some interest in seeing how they did an autumn inspired wedding with subtlety and elegance. I love the fact that there are pumpkins in the decor. The blue mixed in with the orange gives this wine country celebration an unexpected twist I think. Julie Atwood designed the event and Anne Appleman arranged all the beautiful flowers.

Sara’s shoes were a mauve-y pink Lanvin…mirrored heel and lace up. She gave her maids the sweetest little charm bracelets (all slightly different and personal). Long tables ran the length of the barn and the decor was a mix of harvest flowers and beautiful glass, pumpkins. One of my favorite things about Atwood Ranch is the walk between the ceremony lawn and the barn. Guests stroll down the lane between the vineyards and they couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day. The country blues music was perfect for a fall event in a beautiful barn (Performed by the Adam Traum Trio). And the night was topped off with cobblers, cookies, s’mores and dancing.

This first image is probably my favorite! Ingrid does amazing things with trees in her photographs!

From the earlier post on Natalie and Brian’s wedding, you’ll remember that they had a small bridal party ~ just siblings who were allowed to wear anything they wanted. Natalie loves yellow and incorporated it into the flowers. The splashes of color in an otherwise naturally green surrounding is positively perfect!

Natalie’s precious dress is by Watters Brides and her cute yellow shoes are by Lumiani.

Flowers were by Art In Bloom … Event by Joy of Life Events … Makeup by Carola May …

Natalie & Brian were married at Empire Mine State Park in Grass Valley.

Ahhhhh! I would SO love to have been at Natalie & Brian’s wedding! Congratulations!!

And second, we are celebrating Veterans Day and the work that our troops all over the world are doing for our country. Military inspired weddings almost always give me the wedding chills…there is just something about the formality of the uniform, the strength and beauty behind the ceremony. It’s a perfect love story of sorts. And this wedding, sent to me by Ingrid of Myrtle and Marjoram is just that…a perfect love story.

I have to say, the flowers from this wedding are really what take it to the next level…those peonies, I mean come on. They are STUNNING. It’s not terribly surprising considering that the amazingly talented Nicole Ha crafted them! We have more to come, so stay tuned!

Kiki let me know that her dress and veil were custom made for her in Hong Kong, as were those beautiful bridesmaid dresses. Although she designed her own cake (WOW), Beaux Gateaux executed it to perfection. And those flowers (sigh….) were designed by Arlene Boyle at Violetta Flowers.

I have to say, this wedding was flawless. The dreamy, oh-so-dreamy flowers, the gorgeous cake, the perfect details…every element was absolutely lovely. And, lucky for us, we have more pictures coming!
