Joy Thigpen Workshop Announcement

A few months ago, we all ooh’ed and aah’ed over the gorgeous images Jose Villa shot, to announce his fantastic workshop in Mexico. Well today, we’ve got another official announcement – and we’re sure this one will go over just as well. Joy Thigpen, the talent behind the styling of the Jose Villa shoot, is launching her own workshop – so February 24-26 of 2012, you can learn wedding styling from the greatest. Such a fantastic opportunity for anyone planning a big day!

The two day workshop will run from February 24th to February 26th in Serenbe, Georgia. Any of the lucky ladies and gents who attend will be pampered by Joy herself – and better come ready to learn, because Joy will be focusing on so many great topics in the wedding design world – including drawing out & enhancing your clients style, working with photographers, branding and SO much more! Make sure to march right over to her blog for all the details and registration.

Oh, and get this. Joy is also offering a separate One-on-One workshop, where you will learn the tricks of the trade by one of the biggest talents (and biggest sweethearts) out there. She’ll work with you in her Atlanta home to better your brand. Just you. Seriously, we’re all a bit jealous. Any of the opportunities Joy Thigpen is offering are phenomenal, and definitely something to do if you can swing it!

A New Orleans Honeymoon by Jose Villa and Joy Thigpen

Jose Villa is a name synonymous with absolutely gorgeous photography so when he sent us this dreamy photo shoot we couldn’t wait to share. He teamed up with Joy Thigpen, the goddess of beautiful styling, and together they created this New Orleans inspired Honeymoon shoot. Anything these two touch turns to gold and this little gem is no exception. What could be more romantic than a honeymoon getaway to the Big Easy? The styling is spot on, the photography is killing us with its prettiness and the backdrop is perfection. All in all, WE DIE. Be sure to check out the gallery for more from this Louisiana shoot.

And to the genius that is Joy Thigpen…I hope that I get to work with you one day! I am forever floored by your styling adventures!

And by the way…I really think that SMP brides need to bring back the going-away outfit. There is something so undeniably chic about changing into your travel clothes, jetting off to some fabulous honeymoon. Love, love, love.

You are going to absolutely go nuts over today’s first feature. The incredibly awesome Jeremy Harwell sent me the pics from a recent fashion shoot that he recently did and it has officially blown me away.

Together with Joy Thigpen (stylist extraordinaire), flowers by Amy Osaba (beyond talented), ridiculously gorgeous gowns by Etain, jewelry from J.S. Fearnley and a perfect cake that you’ll see in a bit by Sweet Infinity…the result of the shoot was a total dream.

Do you love? It’s total perfection, there is no way you aren’t swooning! We have a morning FULL of inspiration with more photos from this shoot and the dreamy story that inspired it! Back in a bit!

Around the Blogs, Part II

You’ve probably already seen this amazing “wedding,” as it’s been ALL OVER THE BLOGS, but it’s so ridiculously good, I couldn’t resist. Shockingly good. Tec Pataja shot the incredible photographs for Nashville Lifestyles magazine, bringing together the creme de la creme of artists and vendors to design a day that is right out of heaven.

I know that this isn’t exactly news, but holy cow. Every time I look at the photographs I turn into a school girl with her first crush!

Oh my. Make sure to check out Tec’s blog for the full rundown of vendors as it’s basically a laundry list of the industry’s best. But, I have to say, along with the perfect photographs, it’s the styling that is completely and totally blowing my mind. And who else but Joy Thigpen was the voice behind the look!

I MEAN COME ON!!! The shabby chic, vintage, kind of eclectic place settings. The perfect flowers, the mismatched glassware. The freaking horses. Does it get any better than this?

For any girl who loves that down home style, that backyard chic look that is becoming more and more popular these days…this wedding must be your one and only. You’ll find more inspiration than you thought was humanly possible by devouring the images that Tec has up on this blog right now. Head on over but buyer beware, it’s scary good. Scary good people.
