Sweet, Charming Wedding by Jonathan Canlas, IV

If you are just now joining us, we are devouring the sweetest wedding that the fabulous Jonathan Canlas recently sent us. We featured this couple’s engagement shots a while back on our Little Black Book blog and it was clear that they were madly in love. Much to my delight, the wedding was just as charming, just as lovely!

That cake is a star wars x-wing cake that some of their close friends made for them (adorable) if you can believe it. It’s touches like this one that totally make me smile…to see personality infused all over the place. LOVE.

There is something so sweet about today’s first featured wedding. I am LOVING the bridesmaids (seriously, I am including so many bridesmaids pictures here you are going to laugh) and am completely charmed by the adorable bride and groom, the perfect details, the everything really.

Jonathan always sends us the best weddings, but this one…well, it takes the cake!

I also really love that the bride and groom included snapshots of themselves to give their guests a little window into their relationship. Sometimes weddings can get so impersonal and this is such a lovely way to bring warmth and personality into your day. So super cute.

Sweet, Charming Wedding by Jonathan Canlas, II

I heart this wedding. It’s pink for one…which ALWAYS makes me happy. Throw in some adorable, vintage inspired bridesmaids, a couple that is totally smitten with each other, and perfect little details that are all about friends and family…it’s a recipe for TOTAL perfection!

I mean, seriously! How cute is this!? here are a few details from Jonathan Canlas, the ridiculously talented photographer behind the event…

Becca & Issac were married this past July at the Bountiful LDS Temple in Bountiful UT.

The reception had ice cream sundae stations for all the guests. The groom’s cake, a star wars x-wing cake, was made by a family friend (CRAZY!). The bride’s maids had killer, killer style with a throw back to the swing look.
Issac & Becca met through their church choir. The saxophonist was a 93 yr old man who had appeared in one of Issac’s documentaries about Odgen UT. Issac is a film maker and has had a couple of his documentaries on PBS.

We actually featured the couple behind today’s featured wedding on our Little Black Book Blog a few months back, as their engagement session was so stinking cute. Well, lucky for us, their wedding was JUST as lovely with charm oozing out of every corner.

Shot by Jonanthan Canlas, who we LOOOOVE, the first set of photographs was snapped at the pair’s favorite frozen yogurt joint, Nielsen’s Frozen Custard.

Jonathan Canlas Photography ~ Memorable Engagement Session

By now, you know we are huge fans of engagement sessions ~ you get to know your photographer better ~ you have the opportunity to become more at ease in front of the camera ~ and you wind up with the most remarkable artwork to showcase in your new life as husband and wife.

Jonathan Canlas, the artist behind Becca & Isaac’s beautiful engagement session said that this was one of sweetest shoots he’s ever done!

There is absolutely, positively no doubt that this is pure, everlasting love …

Jonathan is one of the master film shooters in our Little Black Book. He has the magic touch … a way of capturing that split second ‘feeling’ that simply and completely tells the story.

Enough said. Jonathan’s work speaks volumes …

One of my very favorite ways to add a punch of color to your decor is through fabulously chic, colored vases. Whether they are rich in golds and silvers or they are a bit more funky in teal blues and pinks, this collection of colored containers should inspire you to think creatively when designing your centerpieces…

Plus, if you can find inexpensive vases, this is a great way to make your flowers go even further, bringing more color and more variety to your style. Jamali Garden, IKEA, Target and Pearl River are all great places to find affordable vessels for your centerpieces.

From Jenny…

My board is inspired by the vineyard location and the shabby chic theme the bride was looking for. I think this bouquet is a beautiful raspberry color and with the matching shoes, so elegant. I picture chandeliers hang from the trees, and the tables have different fabrics that pick up the raspberry colors with different vases, candles, etc in the center. I think variation in the tables will help for that “shabby chic” look. For some fun details, I was thinking a photobooth. They are popular now, guests love them, and you will have some great photos. I also like the element of incorporating silhouettes of the bride and groom – whether it be hanging them on a string at the reception and/or using them on the invitations. For favors, these raspberry boxes add a touch of elegance and you can include something that is important to you as a couple – a favorite dessert, something from your hometown, or something special for the two of you.

Okay, I promised you a list of vendors from today’s FAB featured wedding and here it is! Of course, if it weren’t for the photography of Jonathan Canlas, we wouldn’t be devouring this amazing affair, but there were a handful of other vendors that worked behind the scenes to make it so ridiculously beautiful…

The incredible florist was Amanda Johnson of Butterfly Petals, the cake was designed by Nancy Ray. The bride’s absolutely gorgeous dress was found at Jewel Couture, though sadly it seems that she isn’t taking on any additional clients. Let’s hope she changes her mind soon! The Veil and Jewelry were crafted by Meghan Lawloer. Oh and the couple also had a Photo booth which was provided by ScrapBooth.

Today we are featuring the fabulously chic wedding that Jonathan Canlas sent us…with its oh-so-sophisticated bride, its gorgeous black and green color palette and its perfect little details. Here are a few more pics for you to fall in love with…

This gorgeous wedding took place this past November in Mesa, Arizona at the LDS Mormon temple with the reception following at the Wright House reception center.

Here are a few quick notes from Jonathan…

The family and guests were trolleyed to and from the reception site to the temple. The reception at the Wright House began with the family enjoying insane authentic Mexican food. There were several little kids who were flower girls or “mini” groomsmen. At one point, one of the nephews got up on the stage during the toasts and sang the national anthem impromptu. So cute.

8. THIS IS NOT A COSTUME PARTY!

“Don’t wear too much makeup or do something with your hair that is not you. Don’t let anyone tell you that you need tons of make up for photos! That is totally old school.
