From Catherine Nicole…Emily and Luis met through a church group a short five years after Luis moved to the States from Mexico. Luis transferred to the same college as Emily and their fate was sealed after a seven year courtship when he got down on one knee and proposed at a bar on the beach!

Despite Emily’s busy job as a CPA, she managed to plan a beautifully elegant wedding that balanced a fresh and clean color palate with traditional Mexican touches. Emily’s style came out through the details, as seen in the unique centerpieces and place cards that guests found on a framed bed of grass. Luis’ family traveled from Mexico to be there and a Mariachi band played at the beginning of the reception, a warm touch to celebrate the joining of two families.

So, although I may be a few pounds heavier on this lovely Monday morning, I am full of energy and super excited to start the week as I know that we have some pretty awesome posts coming your way. First up, a Pops of Color Round-Up that our adorable editor Carrie put together for us. You know, that great yellow shoe, the incredible pink clutch. Those little pops of wardrobe color that we all adore so very much. So without further ado, here she is!

So many of you brides are looking for that perfect little item to add a splash of color to your wedding-day attire. Well look no further, today’s Pop of Color Round-Up is here to give you a little guidance on those bold and beautiful treasures that are sure to add a little sass to your wedding-day look.

Row I: The easiest way to sneak in a bit of color is to go for a super-hued shoe. A fabulously sleek, classic pump in a rich hue, like this pair from Charles by Charles David is a perfect way to bring in a subtle hint of color to your wedding-day attire. For a more dramatic look, this peeptoe by Vivienne Westwood pulls out all the stops to bring you glossy-hues. Double up on texture and color in this maryjane by Nine West. Oh, and the strap will keep you locked in for dancing the night away.

Row II: Choosing jewelry with a little bit (or a lot) of color is a fabulous way to create a colorful look. Here are a few of our favorite from Anthropologie. This cuff is completely decadent and would look stunning with so many styles. For a more vintage look, these posts are beyond gorgeous with brightly toned contrasting stones. For a more delicate approach, go with a bracelet that is heavy on the structure and light on the color, like this unique cuff.

Row III: For a truly vibrant look that will definitely make a statement, go for items that are completely adorable, but removable, just in case you want some pics that are a bit more on the traditional side. For a more laid-back look, I love this bolero by Filo Fashion found on Etsy. For a little shoe glam, I seriously can’t get enough of the B. Poetic shoe clips, all so utterly adorable and in a variety of colors to boot. For a absolutely bold, slightly Parisian look, how stinking cute is this cocktail hair clip with a precious birdcage veil found at Urban Outfitters?

You’ve chosen the dresses, now you just need the perfect accessory to bring your bridesmaids to wedding-day-ready status. After last weeks Bridesmaids Dress Round Up, I thought what better way to finish up the perfect bridesmaids look than with a dazzling collection of chic, fabulous jewelry. Turning to some of our favorite stores and designers, we’ve put together an assortment of eye-catching jewels with a variety of price tags that will suit lots of different budgets.

Row One: Vintage inspired and dripping with sparkles, these beauties from J. Crew are the essence of glamour. The Crystal Soiree earrings ($55) are very old Hollywood with loads of modern charm. Dainty and very lady like, the Heirloom Flora earrings ($45) are the perfect addition to a classic dress. And oh, how amazing are the Shimmering Teardrop earrings ($45)? They have just the right amount of glitz without being over the top.

Row Two: The Nordstrom’s Crystal Drop earrings ($28) are simple and sweet and are extremely versatile-coordinating with any style. Today’s wedding, sent to us by the adorable bride and groom, was all about the chic. Sophisticated, elegant and yet fabulously New York chic. Plus, it was designed by one of our favorite Little Black Book members, Daughter of Design, which makes it even more special!

Before we get into all of the details though, I had to start off with these incredible shots of the bride’s bling. And by bling, I really mean, oh-my-gosh gorgeous, completely fabulous, all-the-good-words-in-the-dictionary beautiful bling…

SWOON. Aren’t you a little bit in love? And a little bit jealous? Well, the gorgeous bride who put all of this together is with us all day, sharing her perfect details and her totally down-to-earth perspective.

I guess you could technically call this a destination wedding. Eric and I live in Miami, but he was born and raised in Westport, Connecticut, and I have moved around so much in my life that I don’t really have a ‘hometown’.  We looked everywhere when we started our planning – here in Florida, out in Napa & Sonoma, in Connecticut – and finally decided that Manhattan would be perfect.  It’d be convenient for all his family and friends (he actually had quite a few that lived in the city), and we love Manhattan so much that we hope to buy a little a pied-a-terre there someday.

I wouldn’t say I’m the ‘typical’ bride in that I’ve dreamed of planning a wedding for my whole life.  Although I’m a big (obsessive) planner in general, and love design and entertaining, I’m extremely non-traditional and cringe at doing something that someone else has already done.  After having been to many weddings that were born out of the same mold, I wanted to make sure our wedding was a little different: not only reflective of us as a couple, but also fun, new and interesting for our guests.  We decided our goal would be a “fun, intimate party… that also happened to be a wedding”.  And every decision we made came from there.
