A few weeks back, our Bridesmaid Dress Round-Up featured several gorgeous gowns for your favorite maids. During that feature we had some great feedback from you guys for future Round-Ups on SMP. Well, today we are answering one of those requests, which we are sure many of you have struggled with at least once or twice. We are conquering the ever-so-tough flower girl dress. Since this little item of clothing can vary vastly for your tiniest member of your bridal party and can be a pricey purchase, I decided to scour the web for classic, contemporary, and eclectic looks that are at a variety of price points to help provide a bit of inspiration.

So let’s get started with our first round of classically styled flower girl frocks…

Row One: Jenny Yoo’s Annabella Dress might just be the perfect marriage of traditional and modern design resulting in one precious flower girl dress. Not only is the hue of Annie Girl’s Clarissa Dress perfect, but the silhouette is simply divine. Dessy’s basic flower girl dress is the perfect blank canvas to adorn with broaches, flowers, or a monogrammed sash. All classic, all adorable.

Row Two: The very classic, very simple Sweet Kids dress is anything but standard with its layers of texture enhancing the timeless shape. Shelley George’s Peanut Butter Dress is a perfect choice for a demure look. Annie Girl brings the concept of dress up to life with her ingenious little site. Here, brides can pick and choose the perfect sash and flower resulting in your ideal flower girl dress.

Row Three: Watters adds a touch of sweetness to the classic flower girl silhouette-perfect for any upscale daytime affair. Not just for the bridesmaids, Simple Silhouettes has adorable dresses for the younger gals too in vibrant colors and designs-I just love this one. The Briar Patch has a precious tutu inspired gown for more whimsical weddings. So many cute classic styles, how can one ever choose?

I’ve loved Jenny Yoo’s perfect dresses for years. And after completely falling in love with her latest bridesmaids designs, I can officially say that she is at the top of my short, short list of bridesmaid love! Her gowns are romantic, they are flattering, they are actually pieces that your girls can wear again (and not just say that they can wear again).

We’ve also partnered up with Simple Silhouettes, a FABULOUSLY chic company that specializes in all things bridesmaid. If you aren’t already completely obsessed like I am, you will be after seeing this perfect collection. Simple Silhouette’s dresses are so insanely cute and yet they are also so insanely versatile…allowing your girls to choose from so many different cuts and styles that look the best on their body type. I am simply smitten with Simple and after seeing their Look Book Collection, I know that you will be too!

Next up is the forever genius, Watters and Watters. I’ve worn more than one Watters bridesmaids dress myself and have been to countless weddings where the girls were rocking out these little gems. There is just something sophisticated, something really chic about their latest line which makes me even more excited to partner up with the brand. The gowns are honestly gorgeous, using thick satin fabrics and a jewel toned palette that will definitely make you swoon. Love, love, love this line.

And last but certainly not least…Coren Moore. Coren’s dresses are flirty, they are fun, they are full of personality and style. The color palette is perfection and the silhouettes are modern while still being really timeless. I love that Coren is also very mix and matchable so that your girls can all feel like they are donning a little dress that suits their own unique personality. It’s a really, really great line and we are thrilled to be debuting it in our Look Book!

But, one of the new features that I am the most proud of is our new Look Book. It’s filled with SMP’s favorite designers, with gowns that will literally make your heart stop and inspiration that will ignite all sorts of wedding craziness. Well, lucky for us (and you!) we’ve added two new designers to the mix. Two that just happen to be absolute perfection.

First, Jenny Yoo. Jenny is one of my idols. The dresses that she designs are so real, so effortlessly elegant. They make a girl feel like a girl, the prettiest version of herself. Plus, Jenny just happens to  be one of the sweetest designers around which makes the whole process that much better.

And next, the fabulousness that is Dolly Couture. We first featured Dolly’s gowns in a photoshoot a couple of months back and fell seriously hard for her sweet, but totally chic cocktail creations.  They are ALL charm and if you are a bride that is looking for a little number that will make your sweetie swoon, this is your designer!

So, definitely spend some time checking out the new Look Book…the designers that we’ve handpicked are among the most innovative, stylish and utterly fabulous artists out there.  You can use our zoom tool to get an up close and personal look at each of the gowns, which is awesome and many of them have pricing which will make window shopping that much more efficient.

From the bride, Carrie…

Our color palette was very classic and timeless: black, various shades of green, cream, and silver. As for bridesmaids, I wanted them to look just as fabulous as me and not cookie-cutter. I searched for an interesting designer black dress for my maids for months, but unfortunately I was looking in the wrong season. I ended up finding Jenny Yoo’s bridesmaids collection at The Gown Boutique of Charleston and fell in love with the versatility in the styles and was in love with the fabric. I took my sister and my two best friends to try them on (all with different body types) and they all looked fabulous – SOLD! I had Heather Key Tiller from Filigree custom design necklaces for each attendant. Heather used vintage chains and belts and attached beautiful crystals at the end. Each necklace unique and versatile- I LOVED THEM. I also gave each of my girls a vintage hankie to tote with them down the aisle.

All of the men wore a tux from Jos. A. Bank including my precious nephew who was our ring bearer, but Charlie decided they should all wear a vintage skinny black tie with the exception of himself in a traditional bow-tie.

My dress was a gorgeous silk gown by Amy Kuschel which I purchased at The Gown Boutique of Charleston. I loved my dress – it felt like butter on and gave me an awesome hour-glass shape. Very vintage-chic. I wore a birdcage veil and vintage crystal earrings, bracelets and a borrowed diamond band from my mother. I had fabulous silver Delman peep tow sling backs…LOVE them. I changed into a Lela Rose short shift dress that had embroidered silver circles in the fabric…LOVE LOVE.

Melissa & Brano’s spring wedding was at the absolutely breathtaking Grace Episcopal Cathedral in downtown San Francisco with the reception following at historic and equally magnificent, City Hall.

Brano proposed on a rainy February afternoon in Napa … it was a perfect proposal! We wanted our wedding to be elegant, romantic and classic. We fell in love with the grand atmosphere in San Francisco’s Grace Episcopal Cathedral for our wedding. For the reception, City Hall was an instant connection … full of charm and simply amazing architecture.

To bring out the existing elegance at City Hall, we chose gold and white as our main palette with lots of candles. Cherries Flowers helped create designs that were clean and traditional with a hint of modern. The flowers were all white with a bit of green in the bridesmaids’ bouquets to bring out the green in their dresses.

This gorgeous cake is from Butterfly Cakes.

Melissa and Brano’s stunning wedding was choreographed by Melissa Panico of MAP Events.

What a fantastic wedding party!! Melissa’s gorgeous gown is by Jin Wang.  Other wedding vendors include: Barbara Callow, calligraphy; McCall’s, catering; Jim Avila, make-up/hair.

I love that she was able to “map” it all out before the girls made their purchase so as to ensure that they would look beautiful together. The hues aren’t matchy-matchy and yet they compliment each other perfectly. The silhouettes are all lovely and flatter each girl as an individual. LOVE!

From Anne, the beautiful bride…

My color palette was derived from the colors I used in my invite which was originally inspired by the gardens at the Eolia mansion. I really wanted each bridesmaid to look different but similar. I allowed them freedom to choose their dress as long as they stayed within the color guidelines. In the end, I sent them a jpg mock-up before the wedding so they could see what their dresses would look like all together. I also allowed them to wear whatever silver shoes they wanted.

Kate and Wes were married in November in Birmingham at Mountain Brook Community Church. If you haven’t already seen the first post {click here}. Kate is an absolutely stunning bride.

Now, we’re continuing with the breathtaking reception at Kate’s father’s home in Mountain Brook. She had always had a fond appreciation for her dad’s house and wanted to create more memories in a place she treasured. According to Bryan, “The day had many fabulous touches, but most of all it was a true party that went long into the night!”

Steve Tyrell, a Grammy award winning vocalist whose performances were featured in the Father of the Bride movies, was flown in from New York and sang for the first dances. Right On, the country’s #1 Seventies show band, kept the celebration going strong.

Crab claws were flown in by Joe’s Stone Crab from Miami and Birmingham’s finest, Chris Hastings from Hot and Hot Fish Club provided catering for the event. The beautiful cake was made by Evelyn Crisswell, Criswell Catering.

The exceptionally beautiful floral design was by Carole Sullivan from Lagniappe Designs.

And again, the amazing day was captured by Bryan Johnson and his fantastic team at A Bryan Photo.

Photographers are constantly challenged to be right there … in the thick of it … without being intrusive or invasive. They must be everywhere, with everyone and try to see and capture everything.  That’s a pretty tall order. We read something very profound on Bryan’s website that we want you to think about.

“…we will be near, moving with your emotions, walking the thin line of spontaneity.”

“Walking the thin line of spontaneity.” That is what separates a good photographer from a great photographer. The A Bryan Photo team concentrates on being there for the spontaneous moments that fill your day!

Mary-Kevin and Patrick’s wedding was just that…and SO much more!

Here are some of the vendors that the couple used to help this undeniably gorgeous wedding come to fruition…

The invitations & origami paper were by  Hello! Lucky with calligraphy by Crystal Kluge. All of the gorgeous florals were done by Modern Bouquet and that stunning chocolate cake was crafted by Fab Cakes and other baked goods by Miette Patisserie. The bride’s gorgeous gown was Jenny Yoo (who else!) and the Groom wore J. Crew.

And, last but so far from least, the photography was all captured by the oh-so-talented Carrie Mccluskey.

Love the colors!! The maids and mini-maids are wearing Jenny Yoo. The color is “charmed violet”. So perfect.

Choosing a bridesmaids dress that will suit every body type is, well…tough. For my own wedding, I had 10 (yes 10!!!) bridesmaids and each of them had a totally different body type. Looking back, I wish that I had chosen a Jenny Yoo creation, as she has such a huge range of fabrics, style and colors and as cliche as it might sound…there is just something for everyone.

These four dresses would look adorable mixed and matched on different bridesmaids.
