Now that we’ve set our clocks back and the cold weather is starting to really settle in, I’ve been in a wintery mood. Then I found these charming brooches on Etsy. The Swarovski crystals and pearls are so delicate –just like a real snowflake. And the ostrich feather, well…fabulous. Plus, this brooch has a fastener which allows it to be worn in more than one place, so after the wedding you can move it from your veil to your dress or clutch at the reception!
I heart these knit capelets by Fringe…I can just imagine the earthy, warm feeling of these paired with a whispy, romantic wedding gown for a late fall wedding. It’s a rustic, really feminine look that would be so fabulous on the right bride. If you haven’t checked out the fringe shop on etsy, it’s a must. I am kind of in love with most of the stuff in her collection!
I found these darling note cards while I was checking out Etsy! How charming are they?! I love the glittery snowflakes and the little jingle bells! Even better, the snowflake image is dry embossed, which will make these cards extra elegant. They would be great either for wedding invitations or just for your holiday cards! Lazy Bone is donating 20 percent of the proceeds to breast cancer research! They’re lovely and they support a cause!
You have just a few more days left to get your DIY entries in for our upcoming contest! It’s time to grab your glue guns, pull your favorite fabrics and get to work people! Okay, cheesy. But, I am so excited to see all of the projects that you are either working on for your wedding or have already completed.
And, if you aren’t so much of a craft person, there are plenty of fun DIY kits around the web that would inspire event the most novice DIY-er. This first one, found on etsy by Bustle, is so fun…a DIY flower brooch, complete with supplies and a step-by-step tutorial. Perfect, perfect, perfect for your bridesmaids gifts!
Another of my new favorite etsy shops is Bel Canto…vintage jewelry and wedding accessories that are so completely lovely! Each piece is handcrafted using bits and pieces from vintage wares. Marie, the fabulous designer, also has a great blog that features more of her work!
Can you believe that we have ANOTHER giveaway today!? Marie is giving away a $50 gift certificate to one of our readers! Just let us know which piece from her collection is your favorite and we’ll choose someone at random!
Tiny Notebooks by Every Jot and Tittle
I looooove these little notebooks that Every Jot and Tittle is making! They are a hodge podge of papers, bound together with a tiny brad. How cute would these be as a gift to bridesmaids so that they can make notes of things going on, of to-do’s for the wedding, of fun little tidbits along the way…
We are totally in the spirit of giving today, so SMP is giving away 8 of these to one lucky reader! Instructions are a little different than the last posts…just leave a comment as to what your favorite SMP post is, with a link to that post, and we’ll choose a reader at random! Fun way to see what you guys are loving!
Wooden Thank You Notes by Paloma’s Nest
I have written about the amazingly lovely work over at Paloma’s Nest before…but I noticed that she recently updated her shop with THE CUTEST stuff. The wooden thank you notes are absolutely brilliant, the pretty gift bags and wooden gift boxes, the hand-stamped textiles…oh my! I could go on and on!
And, I haven’t let go of my love for Caroline’s perfect little ring bowls and now, her absolutely gorgeous heirloom bowls. She has so many beautiful pieces, each one crafted by hand with TLC. I love that.
Cake Toppers by Elle F Designs
So sorry that I am a little late on the posts today! But, I am excited that today, I get to share some of my favorite etsy finds. The first, was just sent to me this morning by Leslie, who is launching her new etsy cake topper business…and they are so stinking cute!
And guess what…SMP is gifting one of these little gems to one lucky reader!
Just leave a comment as to who your favorite etsy seller is and I will feature their work on SMP tomorrow. If your favorite seller is chosen, you’ll get the custom cake topper!
In honor of today’s DIY contest, I am so excited to share this DIY inspired wedding with you (that literally just came into my inbox this morning…it’s fate!). Beth and Mike were married on Beth’s family tobacco farm, an absolutely gorgeous 100 year old farm that provided the perfect backdrop for their under $10,000 affair…
all photographs by Lindsay Brooke Emeigh
I’ve received a handful of emails lately requesting a source for great fabric that can be used as a backdrop for a photo guest book. Something fabulous like the Kelly and Colin’s gorgeous backdrop that we featured a few weeks ago. Well, I discovered Fabric Supplies while poking around etsy one day and I fell in love! These gorgeous fabrics are perfect for guest book backdrops, bundling favors, using as table runners…the options are endless!
Color Palette Contest, Day 4 - Part 3
