For fear of sounding too much like an advertisement, I am just going to say this. If you are anywhere near Northern Florida…snatch these vendors up quickly. They are clearly beyond talented and will most definitely do your wedding justice. Thank you so much to Agnes Lopez and all of the incredible artists and designers that participated on this shoot. We are madly in love.

And man-oh-man am I glad that the shoot captured by Agnes Lopez and team was one of our debut features. It’s so good, that it makes me feel really stinking proud of myself for coming up with the concept and really stinking proud of the vendors that I have the sheer pleasure of working with. It’s a total dream of a shoot and one that I KNOW will be used as wedding inspiration from now until forever!

Agnes wanted to bring a little bit of the Vintage Winter Inspiration to the shoot. Seeing that they love all things fashion and all things vintage, this particular inspiration board seemed like the perfect fit. Plus, they got to bring a little bit of snow to Florida which was just too good to pass up. Here’s what Liza Chung, the florist and designer, had to say…

We chose the board because we are drawn to all things luxury and fashionable. We adored the Vera Wang gown and authenticity of the styling with vintage frames. The florals spoke softly of winter and we love beautiful jewels and couture shoes. The board allowed for our own interpretation to expand to a realm of high style bridal fantasy.

The picture of the entire tablescape against the blue sky is enough to send me clear over the edge. It’s not exactly doable for a wedding, but when you look a little closer, you’ll see that there are so many incredible ideas tucked inside. Oh and if one perfect gown isn’t enough, the team added in another that is equally as gorgeous, equally as drool inducing. This one, by Caroline Herrera.

OK. So, what I really want you to get from these posts are real, solid ideas that you can infuse into your own wedding. SMP is about inspiration, about finding ideas tucked inside each and every photograph. So, here are a few ways to translate this gorgeous shoot into a wedding…

1. Place sweet treats like chocolate covered oreos on sticks, chocolate martinis and cinnamon dusted marshmallows to add to your hot chocolate all around your reception space. A hot chocolate bar is a classic way to add a bit of charm to your day.

2. Have large pieces of faux fur draped over display tables to add a warm and cozy style. Then, think in terms of layers. Tuck in antler details, through candle holders, picture frames or wall art. Bring in a collection of mismatched crystal candle holders (found at flea markets and antique stores), use mismatched rentals for your plates, layering in different patterns and textures, rent copper hued glasses or start collecting them from places like ebay.

3. Rather than using all flowers, add in a few standing crystal chandeliers on tables. Ask your florist about renting crystal candelabras or standing chandeliers.

4. Use a basic white linen, then layer in a piece of lace or a vintage table cloth. This will add texture and dimension to your look. Copper hued napkins will add the warmth.

5. Keep your flowers simple, subtle and sophisticated. Mix in berries for a bit of charm.

I MEAN, COME ON! Crazy beautiful and the style just happens to be spot on with the inspiration board. I am in total awe of this shoot and kind of wish that I could jump right into the fairytale. The dress above is by Vera Wang and just might be my new favorite gown.

Before we discuss the inspiration and the amazing details that went into the affair, I just wanted to give you a few minutes to digest the gorgeous photographs that the clearly insanely talented Agnes Lopez shot. They nailed this shoot and beautifully translated Mariah’s inspiration board into a reality that is sure to inspire wedding, after wedding, after wedding.

Arden’s Version It was just another Friday night and she was tired. Not much in the mood to go out, but Marianne twisted her arm. They ended up at Finn McCool’s on the beach. In one of those Gray’s Anatomy-like scenes … two hot guys enter the bar and eyes lock. But lo and behold, only one of the guys is available. That’s OK with Arden. It was the other one she was looking at, anyway.

Dave’s Version Friday afternoon, his friend Trip called. Trip’s wife’s friend was in town … she gave him the go ahead to get out. Dave was beat and wasn’t much in the mood, but finally agreed and they ended up at Finn McCool’s. The moment they walked into the bar, this amazing girl gave him, the look. According to Dave, whether Arden knew it or not, she’d been waiting for him.

The Next Day

Arden’s Version She awoke to a text message asking when he could see her next.

Dave’s Version “I sent Arden a text at the end of the night wishing her sweet dreams, so she had my number. Knowing she had landed a keeper, she called me first thing the next morning and invited me to a barbecue. I accepted [picked 'em up in my BMW M-Series]… met her friends… I turned on the charm and the deal was closed.”

Arden’s Version “As the sun went down, we weren’t ready to say goodbye. I was head over heels in love with Dave and never wanted to be without him again.”

Dave’s Version “Somehow, after a few dates and walks on the beach, I found myself consumed with the thought of this girl. She continued (and continues) to amaze, and it wasn’t long before I knew that, when it was all said and done,  ‘I’ was the one who was truly fortunate.”

The Proposal

Dave and Arden’s Version A random Thursday night. Dave had done his homework, had worked with a friend in NY to have Arden’s ring designed. Carried it around for a couple of months trying to figure out how to actually propose. He had been teasing her about popping the question for a couple of weeks and she finally told him to cut it out. On this particular Thursday night, when the sweet-talking started, she was cooking salmon. She began to sweat and asked him to stop. In the middle of the kitchen, he dropped to one knee, said it was real and pulled the ring from his pocket. “Her eyes as big as saucers, I slid the ring on her finger and asked for her hand in marriage. She never really said ‘yes’. She just smiled big and goofy and joined me on the floor of the kitchen.”

The Wedding

from Arden …“The morning of our wedding, I stepped outside the balcony of my hotel room and could not have asked for a more perfect blue sky. The day flew by and before I knew it, I was in my dress … standing at the end of the aisle with my father. As the music played, he gave me away to the love of my life. Dave and I took our vows. I was married to the man of my dreams.”
