As the final surprise of the evening…my dear friends at the Vanilla Bake Shop set up the most insane “Marie Antoinette” inspired dessert bar which was devoured within minutes. Beyond all the gorgeous decor…I have to say working with Sara and Ian, and their amazing families made everything that much more special. Their wedding was such an extraordinary celebration of love, and Sara and Ian were an absolute blast to work with. We miss our daily e-mails and calls with them!! Thank you as well to Laura and her amazing team at Docuvitae for capturing the event so beautifully. The images are simply stunning!
To kick off today’s pink week feature (which is all about pink fashions), I wanted to feature this gorgeous real wedding that Aaron Delesie sent me. It is so pretty in pink, it’s hard not to love it!
I am so in love with this romantic affair, with such pretty pink details. The whole affair was coordinated by Details Details and I have to say, it was done so flawlessly!

Our next pink inspired photographs are by the amazingly talented Whitney and Jesse of Our Labor of Love in Atlanta. The cupcake and the candy shots actually made me go out and buy doughnuts this morning!
I love the vivid pink from this color palette…strawberry pink paired with bubblegum pink paired with a more raspberry hue. It’s a shock of color but one that just works! Pink is a perfect color to use on a candy buffet because it’s so vivid. It really makes a statement better than the more muted candy tones that you sometimes see (other than white, of course, which is as pretty as it gets).
As much as I adore wedding cakes, brides seem to be coming up with some pretty gorgeous alternatives. I kind of love the idea of a candy buffet, either in addition to or in lieu of a wedding cake. Well, apparently the whole world discovered Sprinkles Cupcakes before I did…but, that isn’t going to stop me from going completely nuts over them. Sprinkles Cupcakes, originally based in Beverly Hills, makes the most head-over-heels adorable cupcakes…and I use the word cupcakes lightly because I am just not sure that it does these little treasures justice.
Ummm…yeah. They are that cute. For wedding favors, put these treats in clear, acetate boxes with a thick chocolate ribbon wrap around the center of the box, and a pretty, customized label placed over the ribbon with the words….”made especially for you…with love, Tait and Abby (insert bride and groom).” The perfect favor in my opinion.
