Kendall Brown owner and principal creative designer of Eclatante sent us the photos from her February Color Story shoot… and we just had to share! Each month on her blog,  A Designer’s Diary, she features a Color Story that will truly inspire you and leave you asking for more!

We hope to bring you many more of Eclatante’s COLOR STORIES … but for now, let us know what you think about this one~~~

FEBRUARY COLOR STORY from Eclatante

When we think of February, our next thought is, naturally, Valentine’s Day. And our favorite February parties are bridal showers and girls’ soirees we get to throw for our brides with upcoming weddings. So, this month, for our fantasy party, we decided that our color story would be hot and cold running PINK!

The team totally outdid themselves this time! And, once again, our praise and thanks go out to Marie Labbancz, our wonderful friend and photographer. It is truly rewarding to see one’s work so perfectly captured.

We shot this gorgeous color story at the enchanting Please Touch Museum in Fairmount Park.

(The Septa bus Oksana is exiting from is actually part of the “Roadside Attractions” exhibit!)

Now, let me tell you how our February story begins – paper flowers. I’ve wanted to have a party with paper flowers forever. So, Beautiful Blooms indulged me and created these really pretty flowers out of white iridescent and soft pink paper that we strung from strands of peach and white pearls over the table. Vic and the boys from VU-Events masterfully hung all the paper flowers and lit our pretty pink table perfectly!

For the centerpiece, Beautiful Blooms filled apothecary jars with layers of rose petals, hydrangea petals, light pink cut glass, white sand, dried ivory roses and pearls. They also filled glass vases with swirled pearls and floating candles. Light pink tapers in footed candleholders completed the centerpieces perfectly.

The gorgeous linens came from our friends at The Total Table. The darling favor boxes were created by our favorite geniuses at Two Paper Dolls. We filled them with a mix of Good & Plenty, Hershey’s Kisses and a variety of pink and ivory candies from The Lil’ Candy Shoppe in Northern Liberties. And the stunning place settings (notice the great glassware), table and chairs came from Party Rentals, Ltd.

Max and Me Catering did a fantastic job of of coming up with food and drink that was coordinated perfectly with the décor. Just look at those irresistible cosmos and glasses of pink champagne and wonderful white wine. They also created a beautiful entrée of Diver Scallops with a Celery Root Puree and Citrus Beurre Blanc. Our kudos to David Robison, Max and Me’s Executive Chef and Theresa Linskey, the Sous Chef. The Girls Only Party was not only gorgeous, it was also incredibly yummy!

Mary Helen Raneiri, the owner of Suky Occasions came by and styled Oksana in a scrumptious pink party dress. Claudia Seyler of Claudia Seyler Beauty did a fantastic job on Osaka’s hair and makeup. Beautiful Blooms created the perfect nosegay of peach spray roses with pearl accents for our guest of honor.

A huge thank-you to Kendall ~ Eclatante … Donna ~ Beautiful Blooms (we LOVE the paper flowers!) … and Marie ~Marie Labbancz Photography for this fabulous February eye-candy. We can’t wait to see “March”!

Sara and Jerry were married in Boca Grande, Florida. The stunning lighting effects were provided by Tony Ormonde Productions. The gorgeous floral design was done by our own Little Black Book’s Botanica International Design Studio. Event coordination by Camille S Williams.

Many of Michael’s image treatments reflect the feelings of days gone by … of past and present perfectly blended into fine contemporary compositions.

If you look carefully, you’ll see that each image has a story all it’s own…

Yesterday, one of Michael’s colleagues had this to say: “Michael Schuhmann is a rare talent in the wedding industry and the Florida market is very fortunate to have him in it’s backyard. Having documented weddings alongside Michael over several seasons it never ceases to amaze me the fresh ideas and passion Michael brings to every event for which he is retained. His work always puts a smile on my face and exceeds expectations. It’s a shame the general public has not yet seen the depth and breadth of Michael’s fine art work. At a time when unfortunately the term “fine art” has lost it’s currency in a world of too many “me too, fine art photographers”, these wedding images demonstrate the stunning quality of the work Michael is able to deliver to those couples fortunate enough to retain his golden eye.”

We first featured Hana Floral Design as a member of Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book this week on Katie and Colin’s over-the-top gorgeous wedding shot by the J&M Marantz team. When we first saw the floral details of their wedding, well, we just had to ask Yumiko to send us more photos from some of her other special events. The bio on her website says she has a flair for the dramatic … and … she’s a classically trained opera singer. Wow!

When we saw this next glam bouquet, we immediately recognized it! Our friend, and fellow Little Black Book member, Karen Wise, photographed this wedding that we’d already admired on HER blog.  Karen sent us some more of Deb and Jack’s wedding with added evidence of Yumiko’s floral artistry. Have you ever seen such elaborate bouquets??

Karen’s weddings are always gorgeous, but this wedding with it’s Jade accents against the lush purple florals, well…it’s simply lovely!

One of my very favorite wedding planners, James Abel (and the word wedding planner doesn’t remotely do him justice as he does the most incredible flowers, event design and so much more) sent me this insanely creative wedding that I have been dying to share with you!

Aside from the ridiculously gorgeous couple, this wedding is filled with the most unique details that capture the couple’s personality to perfection…think pretty pink flowers and chemistry test tubes. Crazy, I know. But, they completely pull it off and it just happens to be one of the prettiest weddings I’ve seen in a long time. Stay tuned!

From the bride, Fiona…

The pink theme ran through the day – bridesmaids dresses, flowers, ushers ties, wine glasses, pink lemonade, pink champagne, pink ribbon to tie the order of service together, rose petals etc. The favours were small packs of mints that had ‘mint to be’ written on them in pink along with our names. I actually got them from the For Your Party website in the States.

I didn’t want a formal meal (in The UK everyone seems to go for meat and vegetables!) so for the wedding breakfast we served sausages and mash and we served the chocolate wedding cake as part of the desert. We then had a tiered cheese cake which we served later on in the evening.

Okay, these florals are the perfect examples of how to use pink in a totally sophisticated, fresh way. By bringing in varying hues of pink, blacks and golds you instantly add a shot of chic that even the men in your life will appreciate. I am obsessed with the pink and gold scheme in the top left photo and equally smitten with the pink and black palette in the bottom right photo. Love, love, love.

How insane are these pink inspired details! They are literally dripping with luxury. Aaron Delesie, the beautifully talented photographer that sent me this wedding, has such an eye for detail. I love the vivid pink from this color palette…strawberry pink paired with bubblegum pink paired with a more raspberry hue. It’s a shock of color but one that just works! Pink is a perfect color to use on a candy buffet because it’s so vivid. It really makes a statement better than the more muted candy tones that you sometimes see (other than white, of course, which is as pretty as it gets).
