After an INSANELY gorgeous wedding by JAC Photography filled with beautiful details, lovely flowers and the like, we thought it would be fun to finish things off with a dance…Bieber style. I never thought I would utter those words on SMP but this is such a fun moment caught by studio 205, we just had to share. Trust me when I say this film and the Groom’s dance skills are all sorts of AH-MAZ-ING.

Atlanta Wedding Film by Anna and Spencer Photography

I have to confess that when I first viewed this magnificent film by Anna and Spencer Photography I got a wee bit chocked up. The moments that were chosen, the music, the sweet bride and groom and their vows all create a heart-wrenching, touching and lovely glimpse into what must have been a phenomenal wedding. I dare you to finish the whole video without getting a little misty-eyed.

From Anna and Spencer Photography… Devin and Fayoce’s wedding was a wedding full of meaning and emotion. We absolutely loved their personal vows to each other, and the time they spent with their friends and family on the day. The wedding took place in downtown Atlanta at the Druid Hills Baptist Church and then the reception was at Ventanas downtown. Personally, we just love the emotion of the day.

I think it’s pretty obvious that we over here at SMP L.O.V.E. engagement stories. There is a lot of squealing and giggling that goes on when a darling proposal lands in our lap, and that was just the case when Your Cinematic Wedding Cinematography Studio sent over this fabulous video. It is such a timeless keepsake of this gorgeous couple’s story as told by them, and I am just mad I didn’t think about it when I was getting married. So for all you brides to be out there – take note, this is a-dor-able and something I am SURE these cuties will treasure forever. Go ahead and take a gander for yourself, I am sure you’ll agree!

From Your Cinematic Wedding Cinematography Studio…She’s a med student. He’s a lawyer. They have big dreams and big personalities. We loved filming Janene and Alfred’s Love Story. There were too many great shots to mention but we’ll take a stab at a few: the always beautiful Brooklyn Bridge Park, the honor of filming the oldest and most famous boxing gym where greats like Ali and Frasier trained, and stopping traffic on the cobblestone streets of DUMBO made this an excellent shoot. We wish Janene and Alfred the very best in love and life always.

A Perfect Proposal

You would think that after four years of blogging about one romantic love story after another, I would be a bit desensitized to all of the mushy stuff. That I might just watch something like this next little gem and not shed a single tear. WRONG. Totally wrong. I sat here like a baby, bawling my eyes out, grinning from ear to ear, clutching my hands together in total glee. It’s a proposal story that the holy-cow-fabulous McKenzie Miller of McKenzie Miller Films sent our way and it has single-handedly turned my not so great day, into total happiness. It’s a last minute addition to today’s line-up but one that you really can’t miss…one that I simply HAD to share.

I am a wedding cinematographer in New York City and last month I had the opportunity to be a part of the most fun and exciting wedding proposal in Grand Central Station. Todd (the proposer) contacted me about a week before it was to take place to see if I would be interested in sneakily filming him proposing to his girlfriend in Grand Central during rush hour. Todd works in Connecticut every day and therefore always comes through Grand Central. Griffin often meets him there after work to go to dinner or wherever, so Grand Central has a special place in their hearts. I had never met Griffin before so all I had to recognize her by were the few photos Todd sent to me. After a few secret meetings with Todd to finalize details, the big day arrived and it was so much fun! Todd was scheduled to be in Grand Central at the height of rush hour when thousands of people are making their way through the terminal. He told Griffin he had received really good news at work that day and wanted to go out and celebrate. Since she met him there so often, she didn’t think anything of it. Todd’s plan for the proposal was to have 11 strangers on his train hand Griffin 11 white roses. Once that was done, he emerged with the 12th rose and proposed. Everything went off without a hitch and as you can see from the video, Griffin was totally surprised!

Thank you, McKenzie…and the adorable proposer…for brightening my day to no end.

Santa Ynez Film by Lola Video

To wrap up today’s pretty Santa Ynez affair is a perfect, perfect film of the festivities from Lola Video who always manages to capture the sweetest moments and really gets to the essence of the day. This is some serious heart-melting eye candy and the pretty bow on top of a day of total gorgeous. So grab a comfy seat because you absolutely do not want to go another second without seeing this gem. Jill & Sam are really sweet people and it was reflected perfectly in all the details of their wedding. Everything was simple yet beautiful! From the corks holding the postcards at every table to the table of old family photos, it was really remarkable. I was so delighted to be part of capturing memories for them alongside my good friend Jose Villa.

The night ended with an amazing bluegrass / four square band from Chicago named “The Clumsy Lovers” that got everyone hopping around. The energy was outstanding and everyone had a great time.

December Wedding from Mason Jar Films

I’m so excited to share this next affair with you… not only do we have a seriously gorgeous wedding but we have an incredible film of the whole event. The dream team at Mason Jar Films did a same day (yes, same day) edit of the footage and gave the couple a private screening of the film at the end of their reception. Pretty amazing, right!?!

When I left Kate and Bill’s rehearsal dinner at 11:30 p.m., I wasn’t thinking about going to bed in preparation for the big day that awaited me tomorrow. After meeting with Kate and her mother Rebecca three days prior and hearing about all they had in store for the weekend, I was riding a wave of inspiration and creativity. Then, after hearing friend upon friend toast the striking couple Friday night, I was so full of positive energy that I had to find a way to inject that into our service we would provide to them on the wedding day.

So I returned to my office and began planning a Same-Day-Edit highlight film to be presented to the couple at the close of their reception – that’s right – I would have a self-contained, highly polished product to premiere to the couple at the end of the evening to culminate the emotional experience of their wedding day.

The difficulty was not in getting it done – my editors Chance and Taylor were more than capable – it was in deciding which of the plethora of gorgeous shots to use and which ones to leave out. From the stunning couple as they prepared throughout the day, to the festive Christmas poinsettias at First Baptist Waco, to the amazing floral decor by Rosetree at the Roosevelt Ballroom, this event was a visual masterpiece!

With the evening winding down and Blind Date belting out their last tune of the night, Chance “locked down the picture” and we gave Kate and Bill a private viewing of their surprise gift. With a rare moment alone, and with tears in their eyes, Kate and Bill were able to pause and reflect upon the amazing experience they had encountered in the company of the people who loved them most.

Aspen Wedding on Film

I knew you guys would love today’s wedding. Aspen literally took my breath away, with it’s beauty so unbelievably shocking…so unbelievably tear inducing. And the wedding that James Christianson captured in this little piece of heaven, is such a perfect representation of the city’s loveliness.

So if you thought this day couldn’t possibly get any better…WRONG. We managed to get our grubby little hands on the Super 8 Film vignette that the unbelievably talented Kevin Von Qualen shot for the couple. And it’s total perfection.

Thank you so very much to the wonderfully talented James Christianson for sending us today’s affair. It was a lesson in all things gorgeous, so beautiful that it’s almost hard to believe it’s real. You’ve left us all wishing we were getting married in Aspen and we all could hire you to shoot the day! And to Kevin Von Qualen…your film is magical. Thank you so much for bringing it to life for all of us.
