Texas Inspired Rehearsal Dinner

September 3rd. 2009 by Abby Larson | 8 comments

A lot of you know that I live in the beautiful city of Boston, Massachusetts. But for me, it’s Texas that will always feel like home. And when I saw this rehearsal dinner that the fabulous Courtney Caplan designed, I instantly became homesick for the Texas style that I know so well. And really hungry for guacamole.

The rehearsal was held  at One World Theatre in Austin and more...

Upscale Backyard Wedding by Caplan Miller Events, III

If there is one thing that I can’t get enough of, it’s wedding details. Done right, details will make a wedding magazine-worthy (or in this case, SMP worthy). Details will give your guests a glimpse into the hours upon hours spent poring over every little touch, every little wedding planning piece of crazy. Details are one of the best ways to put your style stamp on your wedding, a way to let your nearest and dearest know just how special the evening is.

Though their original wedding plans had to be postponed until after Tom’s deployment to Iraq, the end result was one of true joy and love that friends and family enjoyed immensely!

Carlie and the fantastic ladies at more...

May 5th. 2009 by Eddye | 1 comment

Tom & Carlie met in classic Texas-style … deep in the heart of Austin’s 6th Street. The chemistry was instant, but the logistics of being together ~ not so much.

Tom was in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Hood. Carlie was finishing up her Civil Engineering Master’s degree. And as so often happens, their future together was put on hold several times in the next few years. After a year long tour in Iraq, Tom returned and they TRULY celebrated their reunion.

Zebra Inspired Wedding Details

December 2nd. 2008 by Abby Larson | 4 comments

So today’s featured zebra inspired wedding, although completely beautiful, was probably outside many of your budgets. But, you CAN get that same look for a lot less, if you really break it down. This look is perfect for a restaurant style wedding…a venue with an outdoor patio that already has simple, modern furniture that you can dress up a bit!

The best way to really make a statement would be to add a zebra print throw rug. I found the top one at more...
