From Agnes Lopez Photography… Jaime and Mark were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony under the oak tree at the Oldest House. When planning the wedding they decided St. Augustine was the perfect destination for their guests since everyone would be traveling from afar. The evening reception was held poolside at the Casa Monica Hotel, with The Headliners Band keeping the party going well into the night.

Jaime is a chef so she incorporated lots of fresh herbs in her centerpieces and bouquets.

From Agnes Lopez Photography… Ashleigh and Jeremy were married in an indoor ceremony at The River Club. Ashleigh looked absolutely gorgeous and together she and Jeremy make an amazing couple. Monica Da Silva and Chad Alger performed at the reception, offering their take on an Adele song for the first dance. It was such a beautiful moment.

Our wedding was a grand celebration of our love story that began over ten years ago.  Michael and I met in high school with our first date being the Homecoming dance.  We shared many wonderful memories throughout high school, then college at Auburn University, and now in our adult lives.

Even though we had been talking about our future and getting engaged, Michael managed to surprise me with a beautiful proposal at our home in Brookhaven, Georgia.  We were so excited to officially start our lives together!

While I haven’t been planning my wedding day since I was little, I had always dreamed it would take place at the beautiful Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida.  I have been visiting this location for many years and found it to be one of Florida’s hidden treasures with a gorgeous beach, first class golf course, amazing amenities, and breathing-taking views.  Michael and I love to travel and felt that a destination wedding suited us well.

The overall ambience and style for the wedding was regal and elegant with a bit of a twist.  We incorporated some items that were timeless, our personalized monogram, along with a few unique touches such as six foot canvas pictures from our engagement session at the cocktail hour and a beautiful arbor that we were married under which had bands of flowers across the top with strands of hanging crystals that gleamed in the sunlight.  The wedding took place on the Resort’s Grand Lawn with a fabulous backdrop of the 18^th green and the beautiful blue ocean.  We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day in June!

One of the most vivid memories I have from my wedding day is walking down the aisle with my father and seeing my best friend smiling back at me. It was such a surreal moment that captured the whole day perfectly; the many months of planning every detail had materialized into an amazing moment, where I was surrounded by all the people who loved and supported us throughout the years and finally getting to marry the love of my life.

As a truly special touch, my Mom had a special piece of jewelry she gave to me on my wedding day for my “something old”.  My late grandmother had a beautiful diamond pendant that she passed down to my Mother, which in turn she had made into a ring as a wedding present.  It was such a thoughtful gift – I felt as though my grandmother was with me during such an important occasion in my life.

I feel so bless that our wedding was everything I could have wished for and am now married to my best friend!

From the Bride… Alex and I got married at the Jekyll Island Club on Jekyll Island, GA.  We had our ceremony in the romantic Crane Garden and our reception next door at the beautiful Crane Cottage & Courtyard.  When Alex and I started discussing our wedding we didn’t focus on colors or a theme, instead we discussed how we wanted our wedding to feel.  We knew we wanted to include our guests in the entire weekend and for everyone to feel like they were a part of the celebration.  We also knew the only way to accomplish that would be a destination wedding which was close enough to both our home towns and Charleston, SC, where we live now.  The first time we visited the Jekyll Island Club, we realized quickly it was exactly what we were looking for! I grew up in Atlantic Beach, Florida not too far from Jekyll Island and visited as a child.  Both Alex and I were fascinated by the Island and Hotel’s history. Jekyll Island is such a magical and inviting place and is a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding.  We knew that if everything worked out that it was the perfect place to celebrate all weekend with family and friends!

My mom guided us through the entire planning process.  She made sure everything was gorgeous and everyone was happy!  We had so much fun working together on every detail to create a timeless, fun and low key celebration.  And celebrate, we did!  Our band kept everyone on the dance floor and the Crane Cottage and Courtyard created the perfect flow for our guests to mingle and enjoy the gorgeous clear night.  We couldn’t have asked for better weather the entire weekend and I was so happy that we were able to cut our cake in the Courtyard and have all the bars outside, too.  I love the old world feeling of the Hotel and especially the Crane Cottage and spending the evening under the stars in the Courtyard only added to the romantic and warm atmosphere. I have so many amazing memories from the entire weekend but my absolute favorite was walking down the aisle and seeing Alex anxiously waiting for me gleaming with the biggest smile I’ve ever seen! Some of my other favorite memories; staying with my sisters and cousin the night before the wedding and dancing the night away with everyone I love and looking down at all my friends and family from high up in the air while doing the Horah!  It was an absolutely perfect weekend!

From the Bride…Michael and I met in June 2007 and it truly was love at first sight.  I never believed in that phenomena until I experienced it myself.  I realized back then that he truly was my soul mate and I was his.  As we started to plan our future together, I started to imagine our wedding day.  Unlike most girls, I never gave much thought to the “big day” because I always thought that a lot of it would be dictated by the type of man I was going to marry and how we felt about each other.  Once I knew that Michael was “the one,” I started to think about what would be important to us on one of the biggest days of our lives.  I wanted to be sure that the day was an accurate representation of who we are as a couple, how we feel about each other and that the day would be as romantic for our guests as it was for us.

Some of these planning pieces sounded easy and some sounded very overwhelming.  I knew I wanted to get married at an old mansion that has been turned into public property.  Once we found the Epping Forest Yacht Club, the rest would fall into place. Bumblebee Weddings helped me with all of the details to make sure that I truly captured how we felt about each other and how we wanted the guests to feel like part of our family as well.  We both love the water and sailing, so that was the theme that we went with, which was perfect for a Yacht Club setting.  I immediately started working with Sage Sisters Press for my wedding invitations and programs, who successfully captured the ambiance, on paper, that we were going for.

The big day finally arrived and it was more amazing that I could have ever imagined.  It really was a fairy tale wedding for us, I could not have asked for anything more!  Everything went so smoothly and the weather was gorgeous.  The best advice that I was given was to be sure that I paid attention to every moment of that day because it was the only chance I had and it would go by in a flash.  I took that advice and I remember everything about walking down the aisle as though it had just happened yesterday.

The wedding started with a one hour cocktail for our guests to mingle, before the ceremony, which was a big hit.   My sister was my Maid of Honor and my 3 younger cousins were my Junior Bridesmaids. They were stunning walking down the aisle in their navy dresses and multi-glitter shoes.  Michael had his 3 brothers for his Best Men and of course they were a handsome group.

Our first dance was so romantic and meaningful to us, it was perfect.  For the reception, we did a combination of round tables and banquet tables which gave it more of an eclectic look.  Our guest book was not traditional, instead, we had a miniature sailboat on display and everyone signed the sails; this is now on display in our home.  The place card holders were little ships-in-a-bottle that our guests could take home with them.  As the night went on, our guests were entertained by our live band and the cigar rolling station that we had set up.  The evening ended with a midnight buffet of sliders and fries, followed by our exit of flags.  Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and we still talk about it all of the time.  It’s a moment that we will never forget and it was the perfect way to begin the rest of our lives.

As I walked down the aisle, the weather was absolutely perfect, and the sun was shining perfectly on our ceremony site…I saw Nathaniel waiting for me under the canopy, and on either side of him were our siblings and our closet friends, all eight bridesmaids and fourteen groomsmen (I know that sounds absurd!)…I was looking him dead in the eyes, but somehow I was able to see the faces of our most cherished friends, and it was perfect. We have known each other since I became great friends with his younger sister when I was in the ninth grade ( he was a junior). I have an older sister Nathaniel’s age (Meredith), and he has a younger brother (Daniel) a year older than me, and a younger sister (Anna) a year younger than me, so we have all been friends for a very long time. When I was a sophomore in high school, all five of us were actually there at the same time, each in a different grade! Our friendship grew and we were absolutely best friends by the time I was about 16 or 17. We went to different colleges, but whenever we would find ourselves back in Huntsville Nathaniel and I would spend all our time together, along with his brother Daniel, and our other two closest friends, Ben and Jonathan. We kept in touch of course while we were at school, through letters, phone calls, and surprise visits when one, two, three, or all four of them would apear on my front porch in Chapel Hill, NC. We were inseparable, the five of us, and they were my life as far as friends were concerned. I didn’t have a boyfriend; in fact, I had never had a boyfriend, and I felt completely safe and comfortable with them, especially Nathaniel. Shortly after I graduated from college, Nathaniel and I started dating. We knew that that decision would drastically effect our friendship, but we decided that it was worth the risk because of the amazing potential of how great things might be! And eight years later, the day before my 30th birthday, he asked me to marry him. I adore him in everyway, and I cannot imagine my life without him.

From Agnes Lopez, the talent behind the lens…Mandee and Nathaniel were married in an afternoon ceremony on the lawn of the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island. The families and most of the friends were from Huntsville, Alabama, and they made a weekend out of the perfect early fall weather on the coast of Northeast Florida. The event managed to be glamorous but also incorporated DIY elements, like the programs and the crystal cake stand, which were made by the mother of the bride. The cake itself was adorned with brooches and the bouquet was made of a mix of new and vintage brooches, assembled by the bride. There was a pink-themed candy table for guests, who were also able to imbibe a series of signature martinis poured through the ice bar, which was transported from Alabama.

I get so excited talking about our wedding!  Ever since the new TPC Sawgrass clubhouse opened in 2005, I knew that’s where David and I would get married. It is so strikingly beautiful plus we love to watch golf together and we go to The Players tournament every year and always have the best time!

My inspiration for our colors, design and flowers was “Preppy Chic.” I loved the look of the coral against black and white grosgrain ribbon. As soon as I saw the “tea rose” color Emily dress at J.Crew ~ I knew it was perfect and my styling was coming together! As a little surprise to us, as soon as I chose those dresses, they went on sale and most sizes were already sold out. I had a small bridal breakdown but my super Maid of Honor came to the rescue and called the headquarters to secure dresses for my girls.

Next came the flowers. I really wanted to have color “pop!” against my cream wedding dress so giant coral peonies were my first choice! They ended up not being available so we used large garden roses instead- equally beautiful. Our florist tied in the theme with a beautiful black and white striped ribbon to tie it up. I also instantly knew that I wanted the bridesmaids to carry white French anemones. The white bloom with the large black center looked so sharp and chic!

We continued the color scheme for the outdoor reception with giant coral carnation balls at the alter which was covered with white and tied back in the black and white stripe ribbons on either side. Down the aisle were coral pomanders hanging on the chairs. One of my favorite touches were the black and white chair ties that were tied on the back of every chair on the back row to blow in the wind and add some pizzaz!

While guests were being seated and waiting for the ceremony to begin, waiters passed out cold water and Arnold Palmers to keep everyone comfortable. Then after the ceremony, as we ventured inside to the cocktail reception, we had the waiters pass “Scotty Mac’s World Famous” drinks which were decorated with a golf tee cocktail stirrer. This was a surprise to my dad since he is known for his “world famous” (as he calls it) drink.

Inside the reception room, I abandoned the preppy chic look for an elegant candlelit palette of champagne, ivory and white. It was a nice transition into the evening where we had a stationed dinner and danced all night to the music from The Faze Band.

As the evening came to a close, we were ushered out of the clubhouse among all of our friends and family with sparklers to a waiting golf cart with a beautifully handwritten sign that read, “Happily Ever After.”

It was a fairy-tail wedding and I couldn’t have imagined anything more “me.”

The main inspiration for our wedding came from my two favorite movies, Gone With The Wind and Marie Antoinette. I made Embry watch these movies countless times while we were dating, and when he barely objected, I knew he was the man for me!!! I really wanted to have a traditional wedding, but I also wanted to make sure that our day was young, fun, and bright. So we combined traditional accents (inspired by the two movies) ~ the antique gold candelabras, candlesticks, and bowls from the outdoor dining scene in Marie Antoinette … and a very traditional ceremony wedding gown with all the fixings – corset, lace, tiered layers  (like in Gone with the Wind!).

Our wedding coordinator, Terrica, was amazing at helping us combine everything!

I wanted the bridesmaids to wear lemon-yellow because I thought it would look absolutely gorgeous on them and also because yellow looks amazing under the sun. The hostesses wore beautiful cocktail dresses in plumeria. Both the bridesmaids and hostess dresses were designed by Watters & Watters and were made in dupioni silk. The girls looked absolutely stunning.

Ashaki and Embry were married in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony on the lawn of Crane Cottage at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel.  LBB photographer, Agnes Lopez, was there to capture their special day!

As for me, I knew I wanted a big white dress. When I went wedding dress shopping with my mother, I did not expect to find two dresses that I absolutely loved. For the ceremony, I chose a gown with tiered layers, a corset, and lace everywhere. For the reception, I changed into a strapless gown with a completely beaded bodice and beaded accents on the tulle skirt. And for a pop of color, I wore fuchsia Kate Spade peep toe pumps with both dresses. My earrings were designed by the fabulous wedding jewelry designer, Tejani.

What a beautiful wedding! Our thanks and congratulations to Ashaki and Embry for sharing their day with us!
