A Chic California Wedding Filled With Classic Touches

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The rehearsal dinner was done in magenta, blue, orange, and neutrals. The wedding colors were white, green, baby blue, and gold.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The vibe for the rehearsal dinner was upscale Spanish-inspired/modern Talavera. We were inspired by the Talavera tile print, pulling the blue, yellows, and oranges. The magenta was inspired by the beautiful bougainvillea that surrounds The O’Donnell House. Wedding For the design we combined traditional, romantic elements, but with a fresh twist. We wanted timeless but still modern, and sleek.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

The food and drink for the rehearsal dinner was provided by Palm Springs-based company 849 Fine Catering. We kept the signature cocktails in theme and went with Palomas and Spicy Margaritas. For the wedding cocktail hour and reception, dinner was catered by The Parker Palm Springs.

Signature cocktails included:

The Mozi-Rita (His) – skinny spicy margarita, lime juice, jalapeno, tequila

The Honeymoon (they went to Italy on their honeymoon, note the aperol) – OJ, agave, fresh lime, tequila, aperol, sparkling wine

The Margo (Hers) – cucumber, lime juice, gin, elderflower liqueur, sparkling water

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

For the rehearsal dinner, the florals were lush, and overflowing and were the main focus for the design. Emma from Leta Verbana worked her magic, bringing out the pops of pink layered with the greenery, and little glimpses of yellow and orange. For the wedding, florals were by Rebelle Fleurs. To play off the design of traditional with a modern twist, we did monoflorals. For example, the ceremony florals were all white roses. Arrangements for the reception were grouped by floral type – tulips, roses, orchids, and hydrangeas. This really helped to keep it feel sleek and clean. All vessels for florals and candles were clean glass vases. The majority being clear glass, and some are a deep emerald color to tie in the green. The gold element was tied in through the chiavari chairs, the gold trim on the chargers, and gold single-stem vases placed on the bars. The detail of pearl accents was also found in the napkin rings from Theoni, the trim on the chargers, as well as the decoration of the wedding cake.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

At the rehearsal dinner, we had a cake made by Exquisite Desserts that showcased the Talavera tile print on the cake. The wedding cake was made by the team at The Parker Palm Springs. It was four tiers decorated with pearl-like piping, and the topper was the original topper from her parent’s wedding cake!

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

For the rehearsal dinner music it was a relaxed mood, with an acoustic guitarist from Dart Collective. We had a classical violinist perform at the ceremony. For the party and reception, Westcoast Music (JB Project) performed a high-energy set!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

One of our favorite details was the tall gold vases filled with single-stem orchids. They were definitely a standout in terms of decor. And the champagne tower was a super fun moment for the bride & groom!

Though a usual preferrer of neutrals, Daria’s personality is bold and vibrant – something she felt compelled to incorporate in the wedding design. Various shades of yellow and orange were the colors of choice that could be seen throughout the wedding day.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

With former Miss Universe, American model, and childhood friend Olivia Culpo standing by her side, Daria Mancini, an influencer in her own right, felt like the luckiest bride alive on this brilliant July day. To note, the fashionable bride and her dad made an epic entrance in a vintage blue car accompanied by pre-processional fireball shooters. Shades of yellow and orange florals graced the elongated tables underneath the sailcloth-tented celebration. Daria’s family has owned Twin Oaks, an Italian restaurant, for 85 years. Throughout the ceremony and reception, nods to Italian heritage could be seen. Guests were treated to a family-style Italian meal, gifted the couple’s favorite olive oil as a favor, and ended the evening with an espresso martini bar in lieu of dessert.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Rose and Scott wanted their wedding day to be romantic, elegant and sophisticated. Their guests were at the heart of their planning. They envisioned a classic and intimate ceremony followed by a fun and memorable party, with good food and even better company. [/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Quite literally a high-flying couple – Scott is a pilot for British Airways, Rose an online entrepreneur – they are ambitious and aspiring, but also romantic at heart and exuding genuine warmth and kindness. The two met on a night out while Rose was at university and Scott had just started his piloting career. They have shared a passion for travel and adventures since, leading to Scott proposing to Rose in the middle of a starry night in Chile’s Atacama desert. The newly engaged couple flew back to London and then to Durban the following weekend (with him flying!) to try and find a ring (“he
knew better than to choose for me”, Rose said) – it was a really amazing few weeks for the two.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]Rose and Scott wanted their guests to have an incredible reception, with ample food and drink. After the reception, guests were invited to a cocktail hour of canapes and classic English summertime Pimm’s cocktails in the inner courtyard of Syon House.

For the reception, Tapenade Catering planned a delicious three-course menu for their guests. It included nduja arancini and glazed figs, beef wellington fillets with potato fondant, and a choice of a chocolate tart or a rum roasted pineapple and blood orange yoghurt, topped with candy floss meringue. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Andri, from Always Andri Weddings created a modern and elegant wedding design for Rose and Scott. The florals were wild and romantic, with shades of blush pink and white blooms. Blue Sky Flowers created two stunningly sculptural arrangements to frame the ceremony space using garden roses, peonies, and sweet peas. Dark green foliage adorned the ghost chairs in the ceremony space, adding contrast to the soft yellow walls of Syon House. Rose and her bridesmaids’ bouquets were organic and full of movement.

For the reception, Rose and Scott wanted the focus to be on the elegant open structure of the Great Conservatory. Three long tables were decorated with clusters of bud vases of blush and white flowers. The table was set with modern gold and white cutlery with blush napkins on a white table cloth. Ghost chairs elevated the overall look. Elegant gold candlesticks set with blush tapered candles created a soft light as the day turned to night. A stylish lounge area was also set up for guests to rest their dancing feet.
[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Sugar Plum Bakes created a showstopper cake decorated in a textured buttercream, to look as if it was hewn from the stone used to build the conservatory. There were several neutral shades and colours of buttercream in ivory, cream, dove grey, taupe and beige and the cake was finished with touches of edible gold leaf as well as handmade rice paper sails to give a feeling of movement and tiny pale pink rice paper flowers to tie the cake into the colour scheme. Its three tiers featured a lemon cake with lemon curd and buttercream, a vanilla and raspberry cake with cream cheese frosting and raspberry jam, and a chocolate cake with salted caramel and chocolate ganache. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Rose & Scott’s close friend, who was meant to conduct their symbolic ceremony, fell ill and couldn’t attend on the day of their wedding. Thankfully their wedding planner, Andri Benson, is also an experienced officiant was able to step in at the last minute to write and conduct their ceremony.

Their ceremony featured “Love is an Adventure” by Pierre Tielhard de Chardin, read by one of Rose’s bridesmaids.

The ceremony and cocktail hour featured music by string quartet, Chiqas. They played a bespoke arrangement of classical and pop music. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]After dinner, guests were invited to the Cactus House in the Great Conservatory for espresso martinis and cake.

While the guests were having cocktails and cake, Andri and her team transformed the Great Conservatory into a romantic dance floor, with a romantic line of candles and floral buds. Music by band Brand New Groove got the guests onto the dance floor for a memorable night of dancing under the glass dome of the Great Conservatory. [/field]

10 Skincare Products to Add To Your Beauty Bag Pronto for Glowing Wedding Day Skin

Yes, makeup artists can work magic–you won’t see us debating that. However, any MUA will tell you that to get the best wedding day glow, you gotta put in the work ahead of time. And by work, we mean some serious self-care with an arsenal of skincare products and a stellar routine. We know you’ve got a lot on your mind and on your credit card at the moment, so we rounded up the best of the best (if you feel like spoiling yourself) as well as some seriously affordable dupes that you can pick up at your local drugstore. So save your $$$ or spoil yourself (or pull a Michelle Obama and mix-and-match) and get ready to glow.

Exfoliate

Did you know that you should be exfoliating your face 2-3 times per week? Regular exfoliation preps your skin to absorb and retain any of the treatments and cremes that follow. Exfoliants fall into two main categories–chemical and physical. Chemical exfoliants rely on acids and enzymes to remove dead skin while physical exfoliants literally scrub the dead skin away. Both have their own pros and cons, but most dermatologists recommend using a chemical exfoliant. They are gentler on your skin (surprisingly) than their physical counterparts and can be used more regularly.

Toner

We’re trying to glow, right? And even if you’ve already exfoliated there are microscopic bits of dirt, makeup, and oil that can hang on for dear life and dull your sparkle. These tiny culprits can also clog pores and prevent the rest of your skincare routine from sinking in and realizing their fullest potential. Enter toner, this water-based cleanser helps wipe away whatever’s left to reveal a blank canvas…and wouldn’t ya know it, it helps brighten skin as well, and evens skin tone!

We love that this toner nourishes your skin with vitamins, organic acids, minerals, and amino acids while it cleans!

If you’re on social media, then you’ve heard of serums, but if you’ve yet to add one to your skincare routine, today’s the day! Serums are concentrated solutions packed with vitamins and acids that pack a big punch in a pretty little container. Think of them like a cold-pressed juice shot but for your skin. And believe it or not, order matters when it comes to your skincare routine, so make sure to put your serum on before your moisturizer so it gets fully absorbed.

Day Cream

You know what they say, “Sun’s out, guns out” and when it comes to skincare, the big guns = a day cream with some serious SPF. How serious? At least 30 SPF, but if it’s higher, you won’t hear us complaining. 10 Things That Will Likely Go Wrong While Wedding Planning and How to Handle It

There’s a certain nineties song that talks about “raaa-iii-aayyy-n on your wedding day” (you totally just sang that in your head, didn’t you?). While Alanis Morissette meant it metaphorically, the truth is, it happens. Weddings are vulnerable to all sorts of problems—and rain is sometimes the least of them. The good news? Most problems show up during the planning process, and very often they are 100% preventable. You’ll be even better prepared after reading this: 10 things that are very likely to go wrong while wedding planning, and how to handle it all with grace.

Photography: Jose Villa

1. Committing Too Soon

So, you’re riding that newly-engaged high, and you can’t wait to start planning, book a venue, and announce your date. It’s natural to want to make decisions right away, but this is the very moment you can’t afford to rush. Your aesthetic is revealed over time, as you become familiar with the planning process and discover your creative voice. You could book an industrial venue right away, only to find that you really love the idea of an estate wedding with garden florals and cocktails on the lawn.  In order to avoid problems like these, Becca of Rebecca Rose Events urges brides and grooms to hire a capable planning team first:

“We often wish brides and grooms would ask ‘what should we do first, or next?’ The reality is that many people dive in to planning a little too quickly. They make decisions and/or hire vendors even before they’ve hired their planning team and have committed themselves legally and financially to services and/or products that may not really be the best fit for them. It’s imperative that all decisions be in sync with a comprehensive master budget and an overall guiding vision. Sadly, we often have to turn prospective clients away if they’ve already done too much before they approached us about our services, because they have made mistakes that we may not be able to undo.”

Photography: Rebecca Yale | Venue: Greystone Mansion| Floral Design: Unique Floral Designs  | Event Design: Encore Event Design

2. Hiring A Vendor Based Solely Off of Their Instagram Presence

Instagram and Pinterest are wonderful places to find vendors and inspiration, but don’t let them be your only resources. As you search for vendors, understand that social media can only reveal a very limited—and curated– glimpse of how a vendor approaches an actual wedding day. Most wedding services are very visual, but a beautiful picture isn’t enough to determine your ideal creative fit. Mallory of Mallory Dawn Photography encourages her clients to look beyond social when choosing a wedding photographer:

“I am always happy to share full galleries with my clients… Instagram and websites only show the best of the best and you really want to see how your photographer approaches and captures an entire wedding day start-to-finish. I always tell my friends that are getting married to ask this when inquiring with photographers.”

Photography: Ana Lui

3. Family Matters

When you announce your plans to marry, you may find yourself navigating some complex and sensitive family dynamics. Maybe your family has been gracious enough to lend financial help, but that gift may come with expectations. Unfortunately, some family members will equate money with power or a say in your wedding decisions. You can feel, little by little, that you are losing your voice, and more and more that it is your job to keep the peace. “Weddings bring out lots of different emotions and everyone handles them differently,” empathizes Mallory of Mallory Dawn Photography. “I see lots of family members making comments that stress out the bride or groom and everyone handles them differently.”

In any event, it’s time to reclaim what is yours—your voice. “It is important to set boundaries with your family and friends… as hard as that can be,” says Mallory. But boundary- setting need not be painful or ungentle. Be thoughtful but clear as you address family members with simple statements like “We have decided together that…” It’s excellent practice for those times when you’ll need to announce your Christmas plans, i.e. “We have decided as a family to spend this Christmas in the mountains, even though we really appreciate your offer to host again this year.”

Photography: Sophie Epton

4. Overspent

During the planning process, most brides and grooms will encounter vendors’ services for the first time; it’s only natural that they would be unfamiliar with costs. “It’s common for prospective clients to lack an understanding of how much time and effort is involved in planning, designing, and producing a wedding,” says Becca of Rebecca Rose Events.

“To prevent undue stress,” counsels Betsy of Rebecca Rose Events, “itemize your wish list in chronological order at the very beginning and make your budget expectations crystal clear. Prioritize the things at the top and be prepared to sacrifice or revise some items at the bottom of the list, so as to not spend outside your comfort zone.” No matter the scope and scale of our wedding, few of us can afford to make every service a priority. But we can splurge on the things we love the most—exquisite florals, aspects of guest experience, or a haute couture gown (we see you, Ines di Santo!).

5. A Huge Guest List

On that note, if you are looking to keep your budget realistic, then your guest list is the first place you will need to look. “The single most impactful factor in a wedding budget is the number of invited guests,” states Betsy of Rebecca Rose Events. “Each person has a significant cost associated with them – from the invitations, to the china, glassware, flatware, meal, beverages, and the list goes on.” But editing a guest list is problematic in and of itself. How do you leave guests off in a tactful way? Betsy has the following litmus test for guest list inclusion:

“Our advice is carefully consider the list and ask yourself a few questions. Would you invite this person to your home for a backyard barbecue seven years from now? Would you treat this person to an evening out and spend over $1,000 on them?” If the answer to either question is ‘no,’ then gently reconsider. In the end, your event will feel more intimate and meaningful, and your budget will thank you. (And if you still need help deciding who makes the guest list, check out SMP’s advice here, here, and here!).

6. Little Arguments

When you go out for a date or get off of work, it’s natural to slip into wedding talk with your fiancé. That last e-mail! The rental company’s chair shortage! That cryptic text from your mother! You may find that all of your conversations start to follow this pattern. Little fights and tearful misunderstandings are almost inevitable.

In order to keep the wedding in its rightful place, set aside designated times for wedding planning. Be focused and clear about your goals for that hour or that evening. Divide and conquer your inbox. Make decisions together, and know that this is excellent premarital practice for difficult tasks you will face later on. And as much as you possibly can, leave your wedding in the capable hands of your planners and vendors. That trust will free up so much time and energy, that you can then spend on enjoying your engagement.

And remember– take your free nights! Dress up, go out, laugh together, and leave thoughts of the wedding completely behind. You’ll nurture your relationship and everything else will benefit from that. Because it’s true, what they say– the more in love you are, the less dire the possibility of melted buttercream will seem.

7. Timeline Issues

When creating a wedding day timeline, be mindful of your photographer’s requests. Your photographer approaches your wedding as both artist and planner, balancing your schedule with the demands of light and time. If you want your wedding photos to have that golden hour glow, plan around your photography timeline—and share that timeline in advance with other vendors and family members!

“I really try my best to educate my couples on natural light and how it can be tricky to work with sometimes because in many ways it can be unpredictable,” counsels Mallory of Mallory Dawn Photography. “I usually block out 30-45 minutes on a wedding day for the couple’s romantic portraits right around golden hour. And sometimes this gets shortened if the wedding starts to fall behind. This can be due to family members not being present during family portraits or multiple other reasons. I think my advice would be to trust your photographer when it comes to timeline and dealing with light… couples need to be flexible and really ask questions early on about the best timing for wedding day events when it comes to lighting.”

All of your vendors will have similar timelines, and in order to have a seamless wedding day, it’s imperative to follow them!

8. Failing to Make a Beautiful Plan B

Remember that whole thing about rain on your wedding day (or were you trying to forget…)? No one wants to consider the possibility of rain– or any other kind of inclement weather– on her wedding day, and many brides, in an effort to remain optimistic, will refuse to entertain the possibility. Sunshine and birdsong it will be! But “planning the day as if that’s the only way it could happen is a huge mistake. It is imperative to have a weather backup plan for any wedding or special events,” states Betsy of Rebecca Rose Events.

Instead, consider weather from every angle, and, with the help of your planners and designers, create a gorgeous plan B. Allow your florist to implement creative ideas for an interior space, perhaps creating a canopy of flowers to hang above the head table, or a stunning mantel installation. Begin to envision and embrace the idea of a room full of crystal, flora, and fireside. Make friends with the Sperry tent. Above all, make the alternate plan inviting, so that you begin to associate it with feelings of artistry and love. When you are as excited over plan B as you are for your primary plan, no act of weather will unmoor you. You’ll just move serenely to a space that you have already addressed—and maybe even wished for. “It’s not enough to develop a logistical weather plan,” admits Betsy of Rebecca Rose Events. “You need to truly prepare your mind and heart for inclement weather too, so that you’re every bit as comfortable with plan B as you are with plan A.”

And take solace in the fact anything unexpected—even rain—can be a blessing in disguise. Things may not be as we imagined them; they may indeed be better. Mallory of Mallory Dawn Photography can attest to this:

“I have an example from my own wedding day,” offers Mallory. “We were supposed to have our cocktail hour outside in the beautiful California sunshine, however, it started pouring the day of our wedding, so we had to move it indoors. We never thought it would rain in April in California so this never even crossed our minds. It actually ended up being so wonderful and our guests still talk about now nice of an atmosphere it was. The room they brought our guests into had a full bar and a fireplace in the center of the room which was so cozy and intimate. Our guests really got to connect with one another in the smaller space while staying dry from the weather outside. They chatted and mingled by the fireplace and it is something our guests still rave about to this day!”

9.  Destinations Can Be Difficult

“Destination weddings require an exceptionally high aptitude for event logistics,” notes Becca of Rebecca Rose Events. In fact, destination weddings are so complex that they deserve an entire category unto themselves—it’s not one thing that could go wrong but a complex cocktail of destination-specific things. “Our team has spent years honing and improving our destination wedding planning and production process… so much so that it’s hard to even imagine a family tackling such a significant task on their own, without solid professional guidance,” admits Becca, before listing some of the possible complications (or, at best, considerations) when planning a destination affair:

“Every wedding requires careful research and due diligence, but destination projects really up the ante. For example, it’s important to become knowledgeable about local laws and ordinances, customs requirements, taxes, what resources do (or do not!) exist nearby, transportation options, guest accommodations, licenses that may be required for certain services, cultural sensitivities, possible language barriers, etc. Even if the destination is not an international one, there are many important considerations that need to be taken into account.”

So whether you’re planning that gorgeous Vail mountain wedding or Tuscan retreat, hire a dream wedding planning team who is capable of handling the high demands of destination planning. You’d rather have an itinerary full of things like après ski or vineyard walk than rescuing flower shipments from the customs department and delivering event chairs to the accessible-by-foot-only waterfront property.

10. Things Feel Different Than You Thought They Would

Maybe you’ve always dreamed of carrying peonies in your bouquet, but you just miss peony season. Maybe, instead, you’ve had your heart set on a winter wedding, but a family circumstance compels you to move your date up. Or you’ve always pictured your best friend standing by your side as maid of honor, but the two of you have drifted. If, as you wedding plan, you are married to things being a certain way, you are almost bound to experience some heartbreak. And that heartbreak shouldn’t be discounted—it is hard when things just aren’t turning out as we envisioned they would.

“I feel like my creativity as an event designer often flourishes most when I have to work through a problem,” muses Becca of Rebecca Rose Events. And in the end, it’s true. The more that all of us– designers, planners, brides and grooms alike– loosen our grip on things, the more room we make for elements of artistry and surprise. Allow yourself to relax and trust in a process that may lead to unexpected graces.

Photography: Mallory Dawn

11. Parting Words

In all likelihood, your vendors will be extremely professional and devoted, and any problems come up will be the unavoidable sort.

“We over-communicate and organize every little detail, so I find when something goes wrong, it tends to be beyond the control of proper planning and preparation,” reflects Callista of Callista & Company. “My biggest piece of advice is to surround yourself with a quality wedding day team, so if anything goes awry, you have a dedicated, creative, and responsible group of people there to turn things around. Utilize the long-standing relationships your planner has to offer. Great vendors step up beyond their contracted roles, arrive early and stay late, and go above and beyond to ensure your expectations are exceeded, no matter the circumstances.”

In the end, know that any of these problems may just be the setbacks from which you experience your deepest joy. Trust your dream team– and watch as that trust translates into resourcefulness, creativity, and beautiful design.

A Luxury Lakefront Destination Wedding in Horseshoe Bay, Texas

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

From the bride… I wanted something that captured the elegance of old Hollywood with elements that made sense for a winter wedding. We started with emerald green, white, and hints of gold, and the design webbed from there.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

We are from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Most Baton Rouge brides have large weddings at the local country clubs. We wanted something smaller and more intimate yet beautiful. When we came across Horseshoe Bay, we immediately knew it was the perfect destination for our nuptials. We also like that it is in Texas, and we are starting our lives together in Texas. We went with Old Hollywood glamour done in a modern way. The lakeside ceremony was adorned with acrylic ghost chairs, a custom acrylic aisle with our monogram, and lush white florals we carried throughout the design. The reception ballroom was transformed with custom white draping, a custom monogrammed dance floor, and lighting for a romantic ambiance. The tables were draped in embroidered linens, and we brought in gold and emerald green velvet chairs to elevate the design.” We also fused our Texas destination into the storyline. We stayed on theme the entire weekend, from a Texas BBQ-themed rehearsal dinner to handing out cowboy hats at the reception.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

David told me we were going out to eat. He drove me to his parent’s house, where they have 100 acres, a horse, cattle, and ducks. He told me to “come look at their new horse.” I opened the back door, but there was no new horse. There were rose petals and a cute little setup where he got down on one knee. I was in absolute shock but also kind of knew it was coming.

I went into dress shopping wanting something beaded and sparkly. When I tried this one on by Rita Vinieris, I fell in love immediately. It was classic yet sexy, and the gloves topped it off. It really encompassed the old Hollywood bride vibe I was going for. Pedram Couturefrom New Orleans made the bow for me, the bow did not originally come with the dress.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

Choosing bridesmaids’ dresses is no easy feat. They all tend to look the same, and let’s face it, they aren’t always the best-looking. However, I found these to be understated and classic. The dresses came with a small bow, but, to mirror mine, I had my aunt create larger bows for these dresses.

Typical Louisiana weddings, where we are from, are a buffet of seafood, pasta, etc. Being in Texas, we chose to have a BBQ for the rehearsal and a sit-down steak dinner for the reception. To top off the night, we had my and David’s favorite snack passed around: cinnamon rolls, sliders, and fries.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Classic, old Hollywood was the inspiration throughout the entire design process. We wanted something not too over the top but elegant and lovely. I love the night sky, so the draped lights encompassed a starry night.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

I spent days trying to figure out my wedding cake. This is another detail that tends to look the same at every wedding you go to. So, we decided to do something different and have the illusion of flowers floating around the cake. Our florist made a spiral of baby’s breath encircling the entire cake.

The theme of the deep emerald green. I had a hard time choosing my color palette. I was initially adamant against green, but it turned out to be so elegant. From the reception dinner chairs to the ribbon around the menus and programs, to the bridesmaids’ dresses, it really pulled everything together. My something borrowed was even a pair of diamond and emerald earrings.

Romantic Upstate New York Wedding With Intimate Details And The Couple’s Sweet Pup

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

From Natalie Sanderson of Amanda Savory Events: Our goal for Alexandra and Jake’s wedding was to enhance the amazing vibe and energy that Troutbeck already exudes. “We want the property to be the foundation and feel of the weekend with lots of florals, greenery, and rustic but chic charm,” Alex told us early on in the planning process. Since their Wedding took place in September we knew we wanted to use floral and greenery colors that played into the nearing the end of summer fall on the horizon vibes. With potted green plants, florals in ivory, white, hints of blush and orange, deep jewel tones, and additional greenery accents, we felt we did just that with the indoor/outdoor property. Everything felt effortless, yet crazy romantic. Nothing felt forced or out of place. Jerry Rose and his team did a phenomenal job and we could not have been more pleased with how everything unfolded for Alexandra and Jake. Of course, their fun, loving, spunky, and unbelievably kind selves are what really made the weekend special. Beauty that shines that brightly within is bound to burst at the seams at some point, and as you can see from Anna Gianfrate Photography beautiful images, that some point was their wedding weekend.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Jake and Jake’s family pretended like they were throwing Jake’s brother a party for graduating Medical School. So we all got dressed up and went to the rooftop of the Soho Grand Hotel. When we got there I opened the door, there was a trail of roses that let to an outdoor patio with the most amazing view of NYC! Jake proposed on the patio with our pup Duke and then when we walked inside, our whole family appeared from a hiding place! I thought that was it but then a few minutes later, our whole extended family and friends surprised me as well! We had the happiest, most fun engagement party together and danced all night long!!

Written by the Planner, Splendid Events: We are not over-exaggerating when we say that this is one of the grandest weddings we’ve seen all year! Set against the backdrop of the Anassa Hotel, it was an incredibly intricate production that brought a royal, magical wedding to life. When the rest of the world was in isolation during the pandemic, Phoebe and George found each other and their beautiful love story began. Romance is the word that comes to mind when you see these two together, and the Anassa was the perfect location to narrate their love story. It is a perfect blend of the laid back Mediterranean elegance of Cyprus, with the hospitality that one can only find in the Southern United States. The couple had a clear vision in mind, wanting to highlight their Greek-Cypriot roots surrounded by shimmering blue seas. And of course, the festivities were captured by international photographer Sotiris Tsakanikas and curated and produced by elite destination wedding planners Splendid Events.

An Authentically Tuscan Wedding Weekend at Borgo Santo Pietro

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]We brought the Tuscan landscape into Design and evoked it through colors, botanical
elements and perfumes.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]We planned a three-day event for this life-lover couple and their guests to savor an authentic
Tuscan experience.
The first day: Greetings from Tuscany.
Let’s imagine a postcard of the landscape of the Sienese countryside, which becomes the
world in which guests and spouses immerse themselves.

Second day: Wedding day – Tuscany in verse
We tell Tuscany through the poetry of Dante and Petrarca because our land is not only food and traditions but also culture.
When we talk about Tuscany, we must also talk about its poetry. And we want to do it by
choosing love verses from these two Tuscan poets.
We celebrate love, beauty and culture.
We find details like a canvas with poems, hand-decorated tableau and menus, and live
painting.
The wedding cake has the textured surface of an ancient Tuscan venue. It is fissured and
suspended to recall the connection between the earth and the ethereal, carnal love and
spiritual love we found in Petrarca and Dante’s poetry.

Third day: Golden vineyards
Market stalls, bicycles, straw hats and botanical lunch for a typical Tuscan experience. This
is an immersive lunch in nature. We see the exaltation of the natural colors that the
landscape offers us; we make the vineyards, the land and the Tuscany protagonists.
Our spouses and guests share meaningful moments, laugh and sing Italian songs. We
wanted them to feel the connection to tradition, which is family, love, and roots.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]When Luca and Cleina met, there were food, drinks and laughs, as in the best Italian
tradition. They suddenly felt something unique. And they were right.
With shared values, great love, a dog and a lovely daughter, they planned a Destination
Wedding in Tuscany to celebrate their love.

Whimsical and Modern Winter Wedding at the Historical Grand Gimeno

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Blush, taupe, mauve, and a hint of yellow are the perfect winter colors for the warm and earthy tones at the venue, Grand Gimeno. The bride envisioned a timeless wedding and loved the idea of blush and taupe together, she added mauve for an extra kick of romance, and it all came together with the surprising array of winter hues in the florals. From deeper hues like burgundy to hints of yellow in her bouquet and centerpieces, the colors added depth without overpowering.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

There’s no better way to set the tone than with flowers. The right flowers help guests feel like they’ve stepped into another world where whimsy and luxury are natural partners, and the only thing that matters is the celebration of love. At the same time, the couple chose a historical venue with a Spanish Colonial Revival design, the reimagined modern-day detailed interior allowed for flexibility to pursue the couple’s vision. The couples’ goal was to create an elegant celebration that felt intimate and joyous, and they achieved it with simple, modern touches and complementary winter-hued colors.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

“James planned an elaborate scavenger hunt at the Huntington Library with a music playlist to accompany the adventure. My parents were in on the surprise, so it made it that much more special,” the bride.

The bride is wearing an elegant long-sleeve fitted dress with a whimsical floral lace pattern, custom designed by the wife and husband duo of Shin Bu Bridal before their retirement. Late in the evening, the bride changed into a satin slip dress.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

Each bridesmaid wore a unique Birdy Grey style in either mauve, taupe, or blush. Having her six bridesmaids pick their own style was very important to the bride as she wanted each to feel confident and beautiful.

The couple’s food was light and bright – bite-sized appetizers (including tasty Fig, Goat Cheese, and Mascarpone Tarts) got the palette started for the evening buffet options such as tequila lime chicken and tri-tip carver. The couples’ signature drinks included the classics – Paloma and Old Fashioned.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

A whimsical organic arch provided color and vibrancy for the heartfelt ceremony. Later, Ikebana-style centerpieces, candles, and modern place settings on the reception tables set the tone for a simple, elegant, and luxurious evening.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The couple chose a two-tiered personal cake to cut per tradition; the florist added a petite arrangement on the second tier to match the centerpiece style.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

When the bride and groom planned their wedding, they knew one detail was non-negotiable: their daughter Regan would be their flower girl. Her dress was simple but elegant, and while she couldn’t walk down the aisle, she looked adorable in her cousin’s arms.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

The bride loved seeing her daughter being a part of the wedding, she included her in their “getting ready” moments – they wore matching PJs! The bride said it “was truly special.”

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]While they originally planned for an outdoor ceremony, the rain had other plans! The weather worked out perfectly in the end as they were able to walk and enjoy the moments after the ceremony in the open back patio.[/field]

The Many Something Blues of Lake Como at Villa Balbiano

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The wedding colors were chosen to complement and accentuate the stunning blues of Lake Como. The principal color was a bright white with minimal blue accents in varying shades.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The key consideration in wedding design was to only enhance and not detract from the colors naturally appearing at the venue, while still giving the ceremony and reception area a clean and modern feel. The ceremony arch in particular was custom built by the florist, Rattiflora, for the wedding with the bride’s guidance to give as much visibility to the lake and mountains as possible while providing a touch of ornateness. The overall objective was to balance a timeless and classic wedding with a fresh twist.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Logan and Agnes were vacationing in Sintra, Portugal, and spent the day visiting several castles in the area. Unfortunately it began to rain in the early afternoon and while normally not a fussy individual, Logan was frantically looking to purchase an overpriced umbrella at the nearest souvenir shop. Although this should have tipped off Agnes, she continued on the tours without any indication that a proposal was about to happen that evening. Once back in the hotel, Logan stepped out of the room for a “work call,” which was in actuality him making calls to the photographer and driver for the evening to confirm the plans. On the drive to dinner, Agnes noticed Logan’s hand getting progressively clammier, but again, was still oblivious as to what was about to occur. Logan asked the driver to drop them off at a cliff lookout point as they were a bit early for the dinner reservation. At this point, Agnes started to suspect that something may be happening and scanned the cliffside to see if maybe there was a not-so-secret photographer lurking. While there was a photographer, he and a model (which Agnes later learned was the photographer’s girlfriend who was, in fact, a model) were deep into a photoshoot, so Agnes figured it must not be for their proposal. A few minutes later, Logan turned to Agnes and began recounting their journey together, including him finally being able to meet Agnes’s grandparents who live in Poland earlier on in the trip. Agnes was so overcome with emotion, carsickness from the windy ride up the cliff, and also a tinge of distress from the height of the cliff, that the first words out of her mouth were, “I think I’m going to throw up.” Thankfully, the feeling soon passed and the couple was able to enjoy a picnic on the cliff followed by a romantic horse carriage ride by the ocean at sunset.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Agnes fell in love with the Tayra gown made by Eva Lendel when she first saw it on Pinterest. After flying to New York to try it on, she realized that while the bottom of the dress was perfection, the top unfortunately didn’t suit her. After visiting countless other stores, Agnes still couldn’t stop thinking back to the Tayra gown. One day, Agnes was scrolling Instagram and saw another dress by Eva Lendel, the Glam gown which had a beautiful structured sweetheart top. She went back to New York to try on the Glam gown, and the bridal associate at WONA noted that the designer would be able to use the Glam top with the Tayra bottom. Agnes purchased the combination without ever having seen what the two dresses would look like together. Once the dress arrived, Agnes had it tailored to add straps to the dress so that she could dance the night away without fear of any wardrobe malfunctions![/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]For the bridesmaid dresses, Agnes chose Dessy dresses in the color Mist. The material was luxe and shimmery, and the blue was the perfect pop of color that also complemented the lake perfectly. At the time, mix and match dresses were beginning to become evermore popular, but Agnes loved the clean and uniform look of the girls in the same fabric but with two different dress styles. [/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]Agnes and Logan were unable to travel to Lake Como to do taste testing before the wedding, but heard so many wonderful things about the caterer (plus, it’s Italy, how could one go wrong?) that they chose only off of the menu and pictures provided. To this day, the most common word guests have used to describe the food has been “incredible.” Class Eventi provided infused waters for the guests upon their arrival, followed by passed hors d’oeuvre such as fresh tuna with sesame seeds and shiso flowers along with decadent meat and cheese stations. For the seated dinner portion, the first course was a parmesan soufflé with nuts and caramelized Martin Sec pears. For their main course, guests chose ahead of time between a sea bream served with pistachio cream sauce, a truffle pasta, and a piedmontese scottona with red wine sauce. For dessert, the couple opted for a dessert table with traditional Italian desserts and mini cakes.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The flowers were designed in close collaboration between Agnes and Rattiflora. Agnes’s vision was to have solely mixed bright white florals, including for her bouquet and the bridesmaid’s bouquets. The ceremony aisle was adorned with bunches of white flowers of varying heights and sizes, placed in every other row. The arch was a custom build and was accentuated by cascading orchids. Orchids also formed a part of the bar and table decorations for continuity, but the bride and Rattiflora were careful not to sway too much towards a tropical feel. Agnes wanted to use flowers that weren’t overly trendy, but at the same time did not feel outdated.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The couple decided to forego a wedding cake in exchange for a dessert table in an effort to save costs after a few hiccups along the road ended up unexpectedly adding to the budget. Agnes always dreamed of taste testing wedding cakes and so it was difficult to give up the experience, but her sisters Claudia and Ania have promised that they will bring Agnes along to their respective tastings once they’re the ones getting married![/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Music for the ceremony was provided by the extremely talented Florence String Quartet, who provided the couple with an extensive list of songs to choose from. The couple chose to do classical music for the ceremony when guests were being seated and during the entrance procession for the bride. The quartet then played covers during the cocktail hour, including the Game of Thrones theme song and songs by the Beatles and Cold Play. Agnes surprised Logan by asking the Florence String Quartet to learn a shortened version of Wait by M83 for her entrance, which is one of Logan’s favorite songs. As for the readings, Logan’s mom Judi read a poem about marriage, and Agnes’s dad read a letter from her grandparents in Poland who were unable to travel to the wedding due to declining health. The couple’s first dance song was Dear to Me by Electric Guest, which is the song they would always play on Sunday mornings when cooking breakfast together. ASAP Showband played for the dinner and dancing portion of the evening, and the night was topped by an electric sax and DJ duo, Tasten’Sax. Tasten’Sax is made up of two Italian brothers who love electronic music just as much as Agnes and Logan do, and they closed out the night by playing hits by Eric Prydz and Purple Disco Machine.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Instead of a guestbook, the bride and groom chose to use a coffee table book about Villa Balbiano for guests to sign. They provided different colored metallic pens and guests were prompted to sign on whichever page they wished.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The groomsmen got dressed in Logan’s suite at Hotel Villa Flori and then took a boat to the venue. During the ride over, the boys enjoyed some champagne gifted by Logan’s sister, Jordan. Agnes also wrote a letter for the groomsmen which was read out loud by Logan during the short ride over to the venue.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Agnes had written her vows on the Notes app in her phone, but she ran out of time when transcribing them into the vow booklet the morning of the wedding. Her sister Claudia continued to write them, only to pass along the duty to another two bridesmaids when she herself was called in for hair and makeup. The vow booklet became the bride’s favorite momentum from the wedding, as it serves as a reminder of the support and love she felt from her bridesmaids all day long. [/field]

Countryside Garden Wedding at Park Winters

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Primarily cream with blush tones, peach, soft blues and sea foam greens.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Bella & Billy had a very distinct vision coming into the wedding planning process. Bella was the main visionary behind the overall aesthetic. When she pictured their beloved wedding day, a classic English Countryside Garden vibe and design is what came to mind. The couple prioritized an intimate wedding to be able to spend time with all who attended. Every guest had their own personal impact on the couple’s love story and relationship.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Bella and Billy have been together for 8 glorious years and originally met in Davis, California while attending college at UC Davis. The two were coworkers at their apartment complex and bonded over pizza deliveries to their residents! When the day came to propose, Billy planned a date on their 6-year anniversary. With the help of Bella’s cousin, Billy had arranged a wine tasting date at Domaine Chandon Winery in Napa Valley. When they arrived, there was a large arrangement of Bella’s favorite flowers and a violinist playing Taylor Swift’s “Love Story.” (Are you crying yet!?) Billy got down on one knee, recited “Love Story” lyrics, and proposed. He even thought to dress up their dog in a bow tie for the occasion![/field]

She was a vision of timeless beauty in her gown and fit with the delicate aesthetic of the rest of their wedding. Bella had a dress change for the reception with a lighter linen dress, ankle length to show off her adorable shoes. It was the perfect outfit to dance the night away![/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Bella’s bridesmaids dresses ranged in color, style, and pattern. While some were in dusty blue, others chose to lean toward the sea foam green. Some chose classic chiffon and pleats, while others chose delicate florals. The group did a lovely job of staying within a similar color palette, but all together the variation they provided was such a fun layer to their group photos. [/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Billy and his groomsmen were all dressed in classic black tuxes with black bowties and suspenders to finish of their suave looks. You can never go wrong with a clean, classic, and timeless black tux ensemble! [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Park Winters was the couple’s venue and also provided the catering and bar service. Park Winters has their very own farm on property and uses multiple ingredients grown onsite within their menus and dishes. One of our favorite appetizers during cocktail hour was the Tuna Poke featuring wakame, soy, sesame, green onion, and miso aioli served elegantly in individual porcelain spoons. The couple also had custom signature cocktails to tribute Billy’s bartending profession! Mickey, their beloved dog who had just passed shortly before the wedding, was honored in having one of the cocktails named after him and custom illustrated cocktail napkins of the pup’s portrait. Their signature cocktails were “Bella’s White Linen Sour,” “Billy’s Hojicha Old Fashioned,” and “Mickey’s Blueberry Mojito.”[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Fig & Vine created the stunning arrangements and personal florals for the entire wedding. From garden gathered bouquets, to the light and beautiful bouttonierres. The ceremony arrangements were some of our personal favorites with the ground aisle arrangements leading up to a stunning broken arch full of cream and blush florals with lush greenery. For the dinner tables, Fig & Vine adorned them with delicate bud vases of various sizes paired with ceramic compotes of naturally styled centerpieces. The full setting was finished off with warm grey tapered candles enclosed in clear hurricane vases for an elevated dinner setting. As for the tablescape decor, Theoni Collection provided sea foam green ceramic chargers and matching velvet napkins. Minimalist gold silverware brought a cozy warmth to the overall aesthetic. Shimmer & Stain provided the parchment paper menus each customized with the guests’ place card attached.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Let Them Eat Cake (Davis Location) provided the extremely tasty two-tiered wedding cake. Iced with a spackled frosting look created a more rustic and natural appeal. Fig & Vine’s florals were tucked delicately in between tiers to complete the look. The wedding cake table was a vintage round side table provided by Blossom Farm Vintage Rentals which fit in perfectly with the garden party design. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]One of our personal favorite details was the lounge set up provided by Blossom Farm Vintage Rentals. The mix of a velvet forest green couch, a vintage chestnut leather club chair, a cream and wooden linen chair with brass details, all brought together by a vintage trunk suited as the coffee table pulled together a beautiful scene for guests to sit back, relax, and enjoy the evening. Billy and Bella even thought ahead to provide blankets for their guests when the night got chilly![/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Another special detail was the couple shared personal vows to each other during their first look. It was such a beautiful moment to treasure with just each other. Tears and smiles were exchanged as Billy & Bella poured their hearts out to one another in the Sunken Gardens of Park Winters. They also recited more traditional vows during their ceremony in the presence of their closest family & friends![/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]We wanted to hear from the couple themselves what their favorite part of their wedding day was and we received this touching feedback.

Bella’s favorite wedding day moment was their first look. She remembers feeling restless all morning, but finally being able to see Billy and spend time together melted the nerves and stress away. She was, “surprised by how emotional I got!”

Billy’s favorite moment were the speeches during the reception. To him, this was when everything finally sank in. He recalls, “hearing our story told through the lens of some of our favorite people, and knowing how much our friends love my wife, I was overwhelmed with happiness at that point!”[/field]

Romantic Elegance At This Charming California Wedding

Special touches and thoughtful detail make this Big Day stand out. Michelle Garibay Events planned the dreamy day, with heartfelt moments like glow ball golf as a tribute to the groom’s late father. Flowers by Soiree Floral Design created a fairtale like experience, and all the love and joy of the day is artfully captured in imagery by Amy Golding. Visit the full gallery to get lost in all the lovely.

From the bride… We absolutely loved the Stone House and Temecula Creek Inn! The intimacy and fairytale feel of the venue was exactly what we were looking for. The atmosphere we were going for was an intimate setting with our family and friends, full of beautiful details, and us and all of our closest loved ones having so much fun celebrating our special day. The most important parts to us was our first look, first look with my dad, pictures with Keegan and my dad, glow ball golf tribute to Keegan’s dad, who passed from cancer.

From Michelle Garibay EventsThis wedding design was centered around classic elegance and timeless details. An abundance of lush blooms in soft, warm neutrals was the focal point for each aspect of the wedding, and some unexpected elements peppered in added some fun for your guests throughout the evening. Light wood farm tables was a pretty canvas for the romantic design. Each place setting was adorned with white ruffled ceramic chargers, and once the sun set, soft candlelight filled the space and sparkled off the crystal goblets to set the tone for dinner.

The stationery was an important first impression, so soft lines, venue-specific details like the sketch of the venue on the envelope liner, and hand-dyed silk ribbon created a fun opening experience. Guest touch-points were intentional from the moment they arrived until the end of the night, centered around personalized and custom details and interactive experiences, such as the glow golf as a tribute to the Groom’s dad.

Aspen Wedding Celebrates The Outdoors And Colorado’s Rocky Mountains

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]We knew we wanted to have the wedding in Aspen, and so we were inspired by the beauty of the landscape and the western influences. Our welcome dinner Friday was “Aspen western” themed. We knew we wanted to do the ceremony outside with the backdrop of the beautiful landscape, and we got so lucky that the rain held off for us to be able to do that! Most of the design inspiration came from our amazing planner, Juls Sharpley, who channeled our vision for a “dinner party” feel. Kelly Hornberger captured it all perfectly.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]We met working at the same firm but I (Elizabeth) was in the New York office and Bloor was based in San Francisco on a different team. For a few years we were just friends/colleagues but always enjoyed each others’ company. We originally met in 2016 and started dating in 2018.

We got engaged in Aspen (where our wedding was and where we have so many of our favorite memories together). We lived in Aspen during 2020 (when we were working from home during COVID) and also had some of our first trips together there to ski. It has become our happy place and our home away from home and we got engaged on top of the Ute trail in the summer of 2021, and Bloor hiked the same trail with his groomsmen the morning of our wedding.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]I wore a gown by Lihi Hod, and changed into a silk reception dress that was made by Emma Beaumont. For our exit, I also wore a fringe jacket by Emma Beaumont. I found my dress in LA at NWLA bridal, who was one of the only places in the US to carry the gown so I went there specifically to try it on after I had seen it online! Nadia and her team were so fun. I also wore my mom’s bracelet (which was given to her by my grandmother), which was special.

Bloor wore a custom Tom Ford tuxedo, and for our exit wore his Kemo Sabe cowboy hat! He also wore his watch I gave him as an engagement/wedding gift.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The food was inspired by Aspen, with a local lettuce salad with grilled peaches followed by sage elk loin and heirloom carrots. For signature drinks, we had margaritas and the bride’s favorite espresso martini. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The florals by Flower + Vine were filled with lots of lush garden roses and ranunculus. The ceremony florals were absolutely stunning, and we were so lucky the rain held off for us to be able to have it outside. The classic stone urns were beautiful set against the rolling mountain view.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The cake was also a major highlight – it was half pistachio and half almond and was amazing. It had a very painterly feel, with light gray and white palette brushed icing. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]We also had fun escort cards that were modeled after ski lift tickets (with table names as the four ski mountains in Aspen). [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]We also loved making the wine selections and getting to share some of our favorite wines with our wedding guests. [/field]

A Beautiful Ocean View Wedding at Two Historic Venues in the Heart of La Jolla

Their wedding colors were a mix of white and green shades, with the bridesmaids in pastel pink dresses.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Their style design included various textures, from the floral arrangement, dress choice, to having various vases on the reception tables. Their goal for their wedding was for their guests to enjoy the ocean views, and to soak in the ambiance. The couple did this by having guests dine outside surrounded by string lights and candles during sunset. Hailey and Morgan wanted to have a bit of fun with the reception space and included a giant disco ball to encourage guests to stay out on the dance floor.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Morgan and Hailey were planning on attending a friend’s wedding in Italy. Morgan used this as the perfect opportunity to propose and he planned for them to spend a few nights in Santorini, Greece. Morgan proposed to Hailey at sunrise overlooking the Aegean Sea surrounded by the view of the Cyclades Islands.[/field]

Hailey’s bridesmaids all wore pastel pink dresses from Revolve using different designers such as Amanda Uprichard, Katie May, and Lovers and Friends.

Morgan and Hailey both had their own signature drink, ‘Hailey’s Crush’ and ‘Spicy Morgarita’ with their pup-inspired drink stirrer after their fur baby, Brody.

Abigail from Cottage Garden Florals, “Hailey’s vision for her wedding florals was timeless whites with tons of texture. We went heavy on the blooms, incorporating as many seasonal summer ingredients as possible and light on the foliage to make way for the flowers to really shine. From the whimsical bouquets to the 200 candlelit mono-bloom bud vases to the blooming ceremony pillars to the fluffy dance floor ceiling feature — texture was the name of the game! ” A favorite small detail of mine was the florals floating in the water fountain. It added such an elegant touch tying in all the features the venue had to offer.

They had a two-tiered wedding cake with floral accents provided by their florist, Cottage Garden Florals.

During the ceremony, the couple had a String Trio performing as Hailey went down the aisle. During the reception, everyone jumped out of their seats and danced when the DJ played Tyler’s hit song with Neon Trees, “Everybody Talks.”

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Hailey and Morgan specifically chose La Jolla for it’s beauty, charm, and rich history.

Their ceremony took place at the La Jolla Historical Society cottage lawn originally designed in 1916 and is part of the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.

Their reception venue, The La Jolla Woman’s Club started as a woman’s book club in 1894 and evolved into a influential group for children and women’s rights with speakers such as Helen Keller and Lucy Stone.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]After listening to touching speeches, guests hurried into the ballroom for dancing where they were greeted by a giant disco ball ascending from a chandelier of flowers.[/field]

Wedding Day Fragrances That Will Have Your S.O. Falling in Love All Over Again

You’ve likely spent the larger part of your planning processes mulling over what you’ll look like on your big day. But, have you given any thought as to what you’d like to smell like?! LOL, but seriously, you need to pick a scent for your wedding. Scent is the strongest sense tied to memory, so it’s kind of an important decision. Why can’t you just wear your signature scent that you wear every day? Well, for the same reason you probably aren’t going to wear a dress that you’d wear every day or style your hair or makeup the same way. Babe, it’s your wedding day…it’s special! And we get it, perfume isn’t cheap, so why invest in an entire bottle for one day? It’s not just for that one day, it’s for every special day (happily) ever after. Break it out for anniversaries, birthdays, and other milestones you reach as a couple along the way. A spritz for when they carry you over the threshold of your first home, a spritz in your hospital “baby’s coming” go bag for good luck, and a spritz for every other exciting moment to come. And from all of us at SMP, we wish you a full life with your soon-to-be hubby or wife and an empty wedding day perfume bottle to show for it. Now let’s find you a scent, shall we?

Which Type Of Scent Is Right For You?

Scents are sooooo personal! There are four basic scent families that all perfumes stem from: Floral, Fresh, Woody, and Amber. But most perfumes are a mixture of all of the above, so to keep things simple, we focused on the top two scent notes for each of these romantic perfumes that will have your S.O. falling in love with you all over again.

Soft & Floral

Let’s start with this category because nothing says wedding more than a floral perfume. Sweet, fragrant, and rich at the same time. Romance and flowers go hand-in-hand, so you really can’t go wrong with one of these floral-leaning scents.

For Her Eau de Toilette by Narciso Rodriguez

Photo | Nordstrom

More musky than your average floral perfume, this is the perfect scent for the bride who normally steers more toward deep, spicy perfumes but wants something with more floral notes for their big day. The warm pear accents also make this a good floral scent for fall or winter weddings.

Love In White by Creed

Photo | Nordstrom

With notes of Magnolia, Iris, and Jasmine this floral scent is full-bodied and has warm woody undertones. Though, the crisp citrus finish still leaves it feeling fresh and won’t weigh you down.

Delina Eau de Parfum by Parfums de Marly

Photo | C.O. Bigelow

This perfume is all about roses. So, if you’re a rose girl, this one is for you. Plus how cute will this gorgeous bottle look in your getting-ready photos?!

Bright & Fruity

There is something universally appealing about citrus notes and the light scent of sea spray.  If you’re not usually into perfume or are sensitive to floral-heavy scents, a fresh, fruity scent may be just what you’re looking for.

Jasmin 17 Eau de Parfum by Le Labo

Photo | Nordstrom

Don’t let its unassuming bottle fool you, this little fragrance packs a punch (in a good way). As far as fruity perfumes go, this citrus-centric perfume also features strong white floral notes that give it a bit of an edge. We also love that Le Labo will add your name to the bottle…

Allure Eau de Parfume by Chanel

Photo | Sephora

Described as “clean” and “sheer” this sexy perfume will leave them wanting more. This light, airy citrus scent with its notes of Peony is perfect for a summer wedding!

Replica: On A Date by Maison Margiela

Photo | Sephora

Designed to replicate life’s special moments this super affordable line of fragrances is perfect for weddings. We especially love the effervescent fruity notes of this one that are reminiscent of a champagne picnic with your favorite person.

Deep & Woody

If you like spicy scents with a lot of warmth and a hint of musk, then this is the fragrance genre for you. These scents are dark and sexy and have an air of mystery…who doesn’t love that?

Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurant

Photo | Yves Saint Laurant

Intrigue in a bottle this sexy perfume leads with pink pepper and brings you in for a soft finish with orange blossom and pear notes. This warm scent would be perfect for a fall or winter wedding.

Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian

Photo | Neiman Marcus

A favorite of fragrance-files everywhere, this classic has since gone viral on TikTok, and for good reason. Its rich palette of woody notes and spicy amber are mellow and sensual–the perfect counter to those wedding day nerves.

Chanel No. 5

Photo | Macy’s

Then, of course, there’s always Chanel No. 5 If you simply can’t decide. She’s a classic and a guaranteed home run. Technically this classic is considered a woody scent, but its clean powdery finish sets it apart.
