A Fall Wedding in Texas With Secret Garden Style

The beginning of September signals our official kick off to All.The.Fall.Things. Think cozy sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes plus the most stunning autumn weddings we can get our hands on. We scoured the Internet for the best of the best fall affairs and Kendall and Tyler’s big day perfectly fit the bill. They tied the knot at Clark Gardens in Texas with beautiful nods to the season all throughout the day. Birds of a Feather planned and styled, Charla Storey photographed, and it’s all waiting for here.

This is a gorgeous, secret garden fall wedding. The tones are deep and complementary to the season while keeping your favorite garden colors, and the venue. This venue has not had an event on this part of the property, so it was refreshing to use an area that fit the aesthetic desired. Live acoustic music and dinner al fresco made for a gorgeous fall Texas evening for Kendall and Tyler.

This Venue Looks Like It Was Made for the Bride

Can a venue be made for a Bride? We certainly think so after seeing Eliza Morrill Photography’s bridal portraits of this gorgeous gal, with her stunning red hair and porcelain skin shining against the backdrop of the gorgeously aged walls of Illges House. P. Hasting Design and B. Andreson Floral customized the space to the Bride’s vision, and the final look could not have fit the Bride more perfectly. See it all in the Vault!

From Eliza Morrill Photography… What happens when a NICU nurse falls in love with a captain in the Army? A sweet, dreamy wedding day that will have us drooling for years to come. Ivey and Michael met on Tinder, of all places, and immediately hit it off on their first date over Thai food and a trip to the shooting range (what else would we expect from a military man?!). There’s no doubt these two were made for each other, and the rest is history.

Ivey and her team of vendors did an exceptional job of seamlessly marrying tradition with whimsy, creating a unique twist on the classic southern wedding. That said, she didn’t want to overdo it in the planning process. “Prior to planning our wedding, I envisioned a relatively small, intimate gathering of family and friends,” Ivey told us. “I had been a Bridesmaid in ten weddings prior to my own, and I knew after experiencing the planning process with these friends, I wanted to be able to enjoy each moment of the planning and each day of our engagement.”

When asked about her vision and style for the day, Ivey remarked, “The style I was going for initially was farm-to-table. I knew from the beginning I wanted things to be simple yet elegant. It all seemed to come together when I met with my floral designer, Brooke Anderson. I began telling her my visions to include lots of greenery. She immediately caught on to the style and thought of the potted herbs as centerpieces. I chose my favorite colors for the overall color palette. I referred to them as dusty rose and dusty blue. After choosing our reception venue, the Illges House, I knew the color scheme would be perfect.”

The Illges House, indeed, offered the perfect color scheme – an antebellum home full of unique and modern decor, and exposed patina plaster served as an incredible backdrop for Ivey’s porcelain skin and red hair. Seeing her seated on the emerald velvet sofa reminded me of Boticelli’s Venus! Ivey and her Bridesmaids – her sister and her best friend – carried bouquets of peonies, ranunculus, and anemones with a long, blush ribbon trailing from Ivey’s hands. “The flowers were by far my favorite part of the decor. I told Brooke I wanted everything to be very loose and natural, and that is just what she provided. It was magical!,” Ivey said.

Ivey’s gown, by designer Tara Keely, was seemingly made for her, and the Bridesmaids’ blue tulle skirts and simple, white tops were the perfect amount of playful and elegant. Michael wore his traditional dress blues and showcased his many medals (some of which he earned while he and Ivey were dating!) and had one of the sweetest reactions to seeing his Bride that we’ve ever photographed. To say that he loves his wife would be the understatement of the century, and watching the subtle ways he doted on her throughout the day had us melting. The feeling was certainly mutual: “My favorite moment of the whole day was walking down the aisle to my husband. I chose to have my mom and my stepdad walk with me, and I was immediately overcome with emotions as the doors opened to the chapel. From seeing Michael’s face to seeing all of the friends and family who had come to celebrate with us, it was the most joyous moment. I could not have been more thankful in that moment for all of the incredible people we have in our lives.”

The two were married in the same chapel where Ivey’s parents tied the knot years before and were married by a dear family friend. They entered their reception through a traditional saber arch (and cut the cake with a saber, too!).

Rather than traditional centerpieces, Ivey opted for potted herbs that also doubled as gifts for her guests. Classic southern fare was served on vintage china while a keg of craft beer flowed nearby. Guests danced the night away to music played by close friends of the couple before exiting through a tunnel of glowsticks. As for Ivey’s advice to other Brides? “For anyone planning their wedding, I would say to remember to enjoy each moment. It is easy to get caught up in the little details, but those details don’t matter at the end of the day. Remember the reason for your wedding to begin with. At the end of the day, you get to be with the one you love, forever!”

5 Things Your House Guests Shouldn’t Have To Ask For

We’ve talked about how to style your guest bedroom before, but making sure your guests have everything they need, is just as important. From extra toothbrushes to a glass of water before they turn in, make sure you check off this list before your visitors arrive!

Extra Toiletries

We’ve all done it. Forgotten our toothbrush! It’s especially embarrassing when you’re a guest in a home versus a hotel. Uhh, do you have an extra toothbrush I can use? Don’t make your guests ask you that. Have a few extra toothbrushes and convenient toiletries like soap, tooth paste, mouthwash, q-tips, shampoo and conditioner, etc. in plain sight.

Fresh Towels

This is a no-brainer but absolutely something you should never forget to leave our for your house guests! Include wash cloths as well. I know people who don’t use them but I personally do every single day to wash my face. Have them there for your guests to use if they wish.

Extra Blankets + Pillows

Being away from home in and of itself can disturb a good night’s sleep. Make sure your guests have extra blankets and pillows so they don’t get chilly or stiff necks. For pillows, make sure to have a medium fill, nothing too soft or too fluffy, to accommodate all types of guests.

Hair Dryer

I always like to keep an extra hair dryer in our guest bath. An inexpensive travel-size one is a great and does the trick, so guests don’t have to pack theirs along! Let them know you’ve got one in advance so they don’t have to bring theirs if they’d don’t want to.

A Glass of Water

Don’t make your guests sneak to the kitchen in the middle of the night for a glass of water. Offer them one before bed, or have bottled water already stocked up on their nightstand. It’s the little details that they’ll so appreciate!

Celebrating Seven Years With an Iconic View

With a sweet couple celebrating seven years of wedded bliss and a view of the iconic Brooklyn Bridge as a backdrop, Esther Sun captured what can best be described as pure magic. Each and every image captures the beauty of love, the beauty of Brooklyn and the celebration of seven wonderful years.

From the couple… Anniversaries, an opportunity to look back and fill up on gratitude for all the blessings through the years. 7 years after our wedding, we’ve passed many milestones – first jobs, first apartment, two lovely daughters, our first business, first pets, first mini van… We also picked up our fair share of battle wounds and scars, won many victories, had suffocating lows, blessed many, and received even more blessings and promises. Honestly, we have been in such a busy and chaotic season in our lives that I wondered if we would have the time or energy to take a night off and celebrate. But this year, not only did we have our first date night in ages, but we also took a day to get dressed up, get hair and makeup done, and have our photos taken for the first time in 7 years! Because marriage is worth celebrating. Because our wedding day was the last time I focused on the importance of preserving our memories of us as a couple. And because showing our girls how to honor, love and respect each other well is one of the best things we can do for them. I’m convinced the world needs more positive images not just of the wedding day, but also the many years of marriage. We need to celebrate the sacredness of marriage and cherish the day-in and day-out, sometimes non-glamorous, displays of forgiveness, perseverance, commitment, hope, selflessness, and love.

Sweet Kisses + Pretty Petals Make This Australian Wedding a Winner

An hour and a half outside of Sydney there is the prettiest of properties, Wombat Hollow, where this uber romantic wedding took place. One look through We Are Origami’s pics and I have no doubt you’ll agree that it’s the place to be to say “I do”. Add in this beautiful blushing Bride, florals galore and enough sweet kisses to last a lifetime and this celebration is not to be missed!

[stylguide]

From We Are Origami… Emily and Robert got married on the beautiful property of Wombat Hollow. The venue is a 20 acre property located in the seclusion of the Australian bush, 1.5 hours from Sydney. Emily and Rob have been together for over five years. They met at a pub but knew right then and there that they were the ones for each other! Emily describes Rob as thoughtful, tall, impulsive, funny, witty, forgiving whilst Rob describes Emily as happy, caring, funny without meaning to be, gorgeous, kid-friendly, loved by everyone!

From the Groom… I knew that Em would be suspicious if I planned anything obvious, so I wanted to make sure I surprised her (with the proposal). We were at Bawley Point, on the south coast and we went down to the beach for a swim before breakfast. When we were in the water, there was no one else at all on the beach. I got down on one knee amongst the waves and asked Em to marry me. After a lot of tears from Em, a lot of near-drowning from me, Em eventually said yes, after checking several times that I was being serious.

5 Tips For a Picture Perfect Getting Ready Session With Your Besties

Take it from us – some of the fondest memories you’ll have of your Big Day are those hours spent pre-wedding, getting ready with your besties. So today we’re running down a list of five tips to make sure you and your crew are camera ready. Because, let’s be honest… remembering all of those fun-filled moments and having them captured in gorgeous images are two very different things.

PAMPER YOUR PARTY

Guys, we love that t-shirt + lounge pant combo just as much as the next person, but when it comes to your wedding day, you and your ladies most definitely need to toss aside that comfy getup and rock something a little extra special. We suggest gifting your bridal party with a beautiful bridal robe (check out the White Collection by Le Rose – we love it) and calling in the professionals for a little hair and makeup pampering. You’ll never look so good.

CREATE A GOOD PLAYLIST

BUST OUT THE BUBBLY… AND SNACKS!

There’s no better way to tell your besties just how much you love them (AND appreciate all of the help with cake tasting and dress fittings) than with a champagne toast. Plus, it makes for a great photo op. But don’t just stop at the bubbly. A hangry bridal party doesn’t make for amazing images, so make sure to put out snacks that will keep everyone happy. You’ll need it.

REMEMBER – PRESENTATION MATTERS

From choosing the right getting ready venue (hotel room, apartment, etc.) to making sure all of your accessories are camera ready, presentation really does matter. Which means opting for matching hangers (those aforementioned robes need a place to shine), monogrammed jewelry cases, vases full of flowers and even matching shoeboxes. Trust us, you’ll be happy your photog was able to capture all of the little details you put so much thought into throughout your planning process.

TAKE SOME TIME TO RELAX

When it comes down to it, the morning of your Big Day is really about you and the ones you love – your best friends. So take some much-needed time to really relax and just enjoy the girls who have been there with you through thick and thin. You’ll be so happy you took a break before all of the hustle and bustle of your celebration… and will forever cherish those snaps of you and your besties laughing and smiling in anticipation.

Want to guarantee a picture perfect getting ready session with your girls? Start with a robe or sleep wear from Le Rose. Their gorgeous collection will make your besties super happy AND the beautiful silks and laces will really pop in those photos. Find out how to win robes for your bridal party below.

Provence Is the Perfect Place to Host a Global Wedding Celebration

One Groom hails from the USA and one from Brazil, so when it came time for them to plan their wedding weekend, they wanted to choose a neutral space for both families. Chateau Talaud in Provence, France – which holds a special place in Mario’s heart – was the ideal choice, with its charming accommodations, rolling vineyards, and delicious food. Jeremy Ferrero Photography captured the beautiful weekend, planned to perfection by Et Voila Weddings, and we’re officially obsessed.

From Jeremy Ferrero PhotographyMario and Aj’s wedding in Château Talaud was one of my best moments as a wedding photographer. To share their love and to make this day magical, their families and friends came to Provence from Brazil and the US. When two best friends are soulmates and want to get married in magical Provence, which they love so much, this is what you get.

From the Groom… Mario and I (AJ) have a very multi-cultural background – I am from the US, Mario is from Brazil, and Mario lived in Paris for 6 years. We come from very different backgrounds but have always found chemistry in our balance. When it was time to plan our dream wedding, we knew we wanted to embrace our backgrounds and to host an event that would welcome our global families. With my family all in the US, and Mario’s family all in Brazil, we decided to chose a “neutral” location so no one would feel disproportionately accommodated. Having loved his six years in France, the country – specifically the South of France – has always been a very special place for Mario. With beautiful scenery, delicious wine and food, and a relaxing culture, we knew all of our family and friends, both young and old, would love to experience the area. Therefore, making the decision to have the wedding in Provence was an easy one to make.

When visiting venues the year prior to the wedding, we were immediately struck by Chateau Talaud. The grounds are stunning and full of history. It is a multi-faceted space, with a gorgeous gate, a stunning arch, a pool, and vineyards. While the chateau has a level of grandeur, the space maintains substantial warmth to make all the guests feel at home. We wanted our decor to embrace the region, thus we went with a lot of lavender, olive, and green herbs. Between the chateau and the decor, we were thrilled to host our families and friends in the heart of Provence. And the photos perfectly captured the grounds and us on our special day! Through Jérémy’s art and execution, the aesthetic of the day will last us a lifetime!

This Garden Wedding at Green Gables Estate Is a Romantic Escape

This Bride planned her special day all the while completing medical school, so it’s no wonder she wanted to create a romantic garden escape. The Green Gable Estate offered up the perfect setting, with an adorable gazebo for the ceremony backdrop, golden lighting, and lush greenery everywhere you look! Needless to say, lovelies, these images by Whiskers & Willow Photography are magical, as is the film captured by Emma Lynn Cinema.

From the Bride… Burke and I met towards the end of college at Harvard and fell pretty hard for each other early on. We survived two years of long distance before reuniting in NYC to explore and eat our way through the city. We love Central Park, but most places are pretty crowded. There’s a beautiful pond fairly north in the park, and the day he proposed, it was misting, and we were alone at the pond, which made for a wonderfully intimate experience.

We planned the wedding from afar with plenty of help from my parents and friends on the ground, who visited the venue and tasted cake for us. Thankfully, it was my last year of medical school, and I had sporadic periods of free time to coordinate with wonderful vendors and work on art projects for the wedding, and I enjoyed the chance to be creative and intentional in creating imagery for our wedding.

We wanted an intimate, outdoor garden wedding and magically found a venue that offered the things we most prioritized – lots of natural beauty, unique details, and plenty of internal organization. We absolutely loved the venue, and it was even more beautiful during golden hour on the day of the wedding. We really enjoyed painting the cornhole set with our monogram and making strawberry champagne jam favors.

This was the most fun day of our lives! We were overwhelmed by the support and love of our friends and family traveling great distances to be with us, and we were blessed with beautiful weather. Our first look was very emotional, and everything afterwards felt like a beautiful blur. I loved walking down the aisle with both of my parents by my side and with a dear friend playing Clair de Lune on the violin. Our handwritten vows were appreciated by all and set a lovely and personal tone for the day. We had so much fun on the dance floor and at the after party and didn’t want the day to ever end.

The significance of the day and the people matter infinitely more than any material good, so my advice to Brides is to include what actually makes you happy and don’t stress too much about everything else. You can only plan so much, and it feels amazing to let everything go and focus on being together with loved ones to celebrate the commitment of you and your partner.

This Editorial Will Have You Reminiscing on Summer Sunsets

If you’re anything like me, you’re not ready to let go of summer yet. If that’s the case, you must stop what you’re doing and spend the rest of your morning enjoying this  editorial session captured by Le Vie Photography. Cloud Creative Events curated a wedding inspired by the warm and inviting colors of a summer sunset with the help of a talented team of Texas vendors. See our favorite pics below plus bonus behind-the-scenes footage by Amori Photography.

From Le Vie PhotographyIn this inspiration shoot, we truly believe we found heaven on Earth. We selected the beautiful White Sparrow venue located in the state of Texas. Our goal was to create images that showcased southern charm and created feelings of summer sunset romance. This vintage inspired venue is nestled in an open field surrounded by huge oak trees, giving you an intimate countryside feeling. As you are drawn closer, you’ll notice a dainty white barn with lush green grass surrounding it. The whimsical rustic displays in front and simple yet sweet tree swing in the field whisper to you: “Come and be a kid again.” Entering into the White Sparrow, you’ll be greeted by nothing but white. Elegant chandeliers are hung across the high ceilings of the open space. Natural light beams through the large overhead window panes coupled with white surfaces along the walls create a wonderful ethereal feeling that makes you wonder, “Am I in heaven?”

Our theme colors were inspired by a summer’s sunset on a beautiful day out in the country. For florals, we chose to focus on a design that has depth and movement. To create depth, we selected peach, cream, and blue colors with touches of dusty cappuccino. The blue taper candles with crystal holders and vintage china added to the color palette. This paired with crystal goblets, gold flatware, and beautiful florals conjured up feelings of a cozy summer soiree. For the cake, we wanted something simple yet subtly elegant and beautiful. We began with a classic buttercream and added a modern spin on texture by using white chocolate brush strokes along the front. To add to the finishing touch, we delicately laid florals and figs to help bring the brush strokes to the forefront of the design.

The soft and elegant invitation suite was designed with the beautiful fine art Bride in mind. A blend of loose calligraphy script, beautifully handcrafted venue and botanical sketches, and minute attention to details created a collection that is both elegant and beautiful. To complete this look and scene, we selected a dress that is long and flowy to evoke feelings of grace and kindness. This paired with a long cathedral veil created an ethereal sensation that will give butterflies in your tummy. And as a final touch, we added our “something blue” with a beautiful blue bottom heel by Betsey Johnson to complete the look. I hope you love and enjoy this inspiration shoot as much as we do!

The Cutest Idea for an At-Home 1-Year Anniversary Shoot

Celebrating your one-year anniversary with a photo sesh is always a good idea. But when you add in a cute idea like this? It becomes so, so meaningful. Lauren and Grant read their message-in-a-bottle notes written by friends and family from their wedding, how sweet?! Trousseau Style added their pretty touch and Celia Ragonese snapped it all up, right here.

From Celia Ragonese PhotographyFor Lauren and Grant’s first-year anniversary session, Philadelphia’s rich and vibrant architecture in the Old City neighborhood created the perfect backdrop for their classic style as husband and wife. From the iconic columns of the First Bank of the United States to the cobblestone streets in Old City, the city’s dusky summer hues created a warm and neutral color palette that went perfectly with Lauren’s millennial pink dress and Grant’s chambray blue shirt. During their early morning session, they shared laughs as they remembered their wedding day in Oregon and reminisced about their favorite moments with friends and family. For their home session, we continued the warm neutral vibe with pops of pink and blue that was highlighted by a beautiful vintage bottle and flower motif that Lauren created in their bright and airy home. With their wedding cake 2.0 from Nutmeg Cake Designs at the ready (traveling 3,000 miles with cake is a tricky endeavor) and a bottle of rose, Lauren and Grant read their message-in-a-bottle notes written by friends and family from their wedding. I love photographing married couples and one of my favorite aspects about Lauren and Grant’s anniversary session was watching their faces light up and their warm laughter fill the room as they shared stories and read these advice notes together. I always say it’s an honor to capture memories for couples, and it was truly a special day with this wonderful couple that will be remembered for a long time.

From the couple… Most of our love story takes place in Philadelphia – we met, dated, fell in love and live in the city. However, after getting engaged on vacation in Oregon, we decided to return to Oregon for our wedding and engagement photos. We thought our year anniversary would be the perfect opportunity to capture a little bit of our Philadelphia love story.

We started by visiting some of our favorite neighborhood locations in Old City. We had so much fun walking about the city and remember our first year of marriage! Next, we headed home for some cake, rosé and to read the “messages in a bottle” our guests left for us at our wedding. We laughed and cried reading through the funny, thoughtful and some cryptic messages (too much wine?). It was such a meaningful way to celebrate our first year of marriage and we’ll cherish these photos forever.

This Is Why You Should Do A Honeymoon Photo Shoot

Ohhh Julie Paisley, I like your thinking here. After photographing this darling duo say “I do”, she stayed around a bit longer and captured their fresh honeymoon love in person. Add in the insane beauty of New Zealand and these pics are (almost) too good to be true. Not only is the idea brilliant, but the finished results are the best newlywed gift we can imagine!

From Julie Paisley… In March I traveled to New Zealand to shoot the wedding of Emily and Ben. Emily and I had met when I traveled to New Zealand a few years ago and when she contacted me to come back to shoot her wedding, I was beyond thrilled! They got married in Auckland, New Zealand which is in the North Island but decided to travel down to the South Island for a little “mini-moon”. Of course I was more than thrilled to follow them down for a Honeymoon Session. New Zealand is unreal and of course I loved Emily and Ben so having a chance to photograph them again was such a joy. This session was so surreal for me. The views, their love, oh how I wish everyone would hire me for an honeymoon session. These types of sessions are so amazing and I love to offer these for my destination brides. If you are having a destination wedding, talk to your photographer about staying an extra day; you will be glad you did!

A Downtown Charleston Engagement With a Little Pop! Fizz! Clink!

This engagement session, set against the cobbled streets and blush hued buildings of Charleston, is the prettiest testament to this Southern city and the fact that it was made for exploring with the one you love. And if you have a bottle of champagne and a wildly talented photographer like The Happy Bloom in tow? Well then you’re in luck.

From the Photographer… Evin + Ryan currently live in NYC but have a love for the deep South. The historic cobblestone streets. The Spanish moss. The coastal breeze full of salt and charm. There’s truly no place like Charleston! And the couple just HAD to tie the knot in the most beautiful city in the low country. For their engagement session, we strolled through the streets of downtown Charleston on a warm July day. To cool off, we popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate the engagement of the sweetest couple!

Heavenly White Wedding Inspiration To Take Your Breath Away

When Vasia PhotographyWhite Event Studio and their entire crew of vendors set out to create a workshop shoot, a few main ideas came to mind. They wanted to play up the beauty of white-on-white wedding design with a light and airy quality in every last detail. They experimented with interesting fabrics, unexpected textures and a floral installation that will surely take your breath away. Block off your morning to-do’s and find your happy place here in the full gallery.

According to Greek color theory, white represents altruism, being, and life-creating.

Our words of inspiration: light, lustre, translucency, reflection + introspection, movement.

The inspiration words were taken and we created the table and space to represent those feelings. We wanted everything to feel as light and airy as possible, playing with fabrics and textures that you might not ordinarily find on a table such as organic pieces of crystal and hand molded clay pinch bowls.

To avoid cluttering the table with florals, our team created an incredible installation around the space that looked made it feel as if we were in the clouds.

A Homespun Summer Wedding for College Sweethearts

What do you get when you pair classic New England charm with eclectic, vintage style? Sydney and Brian’s day, that’s what. These two tried the knot in Newport, Rhode Island as a nod to the spot where they first met and designed the entire day to feel authentically them. They brought on local vendors like Newport Tent CompanyBoston Common Band and so many more with the amazing Erin McGinn capturing every second behind the lens. Even more this way!

From the bride, Sydney… Newport is where we met, where we went to college and where we started our life together in our first apartment. Coming from two different states, Brian from Connecticut and myself from New Jersey, Newport always feels like home away from home. When we got engaged there wasn’t much debate on where we would get married. The Eisenhower House has always been a beautiful place, it’s only yards from where Brian played rugby and where I watched. Brian and I weren’t looking to have a typical nautical themed Newport wedding, and we aren’t the type of people to do a big glitzy mansion wedding either. The Eisenhower house fits just right, it’s historic and beautiful but has a relaxed and welcoming vibe. I wanted the day to feel just that, relaxed, laid back and beautiful.

I choose lush greenery and unique white assortments of flowers to make it feel romantic. Brian and I love gardening, outdoors, cooking…therefore incorporating herbs were a must. It was one of the few opinions Brian had about decor so I couldn’t disappoint. The Bridesmaids bouquets were strictly herbs and scented greenery. Potted herbs grown by us all spring were used on certain round tables and throughout the reception. We got a little help from the Farmer’s Daughter Nursery with matured plants when most of our seedlings failed to grow… We continued the organic theme throughout with local honey as party favors, a chicken crate at the gift table to collect cards and the local food options done by our caterer. The local influence was everywhere, mini lobster rolls, clam cakes, and chowder, raw bar…there was no questioning you were in New England!

I have an eclectic vintage style so I wanted our guests to feel like the wedding looked like us. A vintage sofa found at a local shop and matching chairs finished that style. Brian is that All-American type of guy and the most patriotic person I know. I decided to surprise him with a vintage flag found at the Brimfield Antique Show and have it hung from the large tree on the property. At night the flag would be illuminated in the distance with the twinkling Newport Bridge in the background. I DIY-ed most everything else including the fabric banner table numbers and the welcome flag. I stuck with a banner theme with these elements because I used a similar design when hand painting our save the dates.

With all of these details, I hoped to welcome guests with a laid-back New England vibe, encourage local living, highlight the beauty of Newport and stay true to our style. All in all, the designed was meant to feel like us as a couple.

I literally wanted to be Gemma! I wanted her experience, I wanted her confidence, her natural charm and pretty much all her wardrobe. Gemma’s wedding planning company, Ibiza Wedding, has become the first stop for stylish, newly engaged entrepreneurs, ambitious young brides and grooms to be looking for a hands on wedding planner who could take over and help them simply enjoy the real Ibiza experience.

When Gemma teamed up with Kerry-Anne, a fun, energetic, kind, South African beauty, they became the dream team for anyone looking to throw an unforgettable Ibiza wedding with a sweet and sexy dose of whimsical boho elegance. Gemma and Kerry love the island so much and as permanent residents (fluent in Spanish) they know every corner, every supplier and all the hidden spots.

I had a chance to photograph Gemma and her gorgeous family (three stunning kids and very handsome hubby Jack) on many different occasions. We took some beautiful photographs during Gemma’s pregnancy as well as doing a winter family shoot and a spring session at their favourite La Paloma restaurant and interior editorial session of their fabulously styled Ibiza home.  A few weeks ago I chatted with Gemma about weddings, family and life in Ibiza….

Modern Art-Inspired Wedding With Pops of French Blue

When your groom’s parents have the most beautiful modern art-filled home set on Lake Washington, selecting it as your wedding venue is really a no brainer. Margot and Justin played off the setting for a colorful affair filled with French blue accents thanks to the work of NW Event Success and Flora Nova Design. Go ahead and get comfy because this gallery by Katie Parra is one you certainly won’t want to leave.

From the photographer… Margot and Justin’s October 8th wedding took place at the groom’s parent’s modern art filled home right on the shore of Lake Washington. The ceremony was in the front of the estate and the reception was under a beautiful Sperry Tent overlooking the lake. True to form, Seattle gave us a pretty wet and rainy day which only added to the romance and ambiance of the wedding. The Brotman’s art collection was a stunning feature during the cocktail hour and when combined with the lush greenery and bright florals it made the entire wedding a feast for the eyes.

From the wedding planners… Justin & Margot wanted a beautiful NW garden wedding. After looking at many venues they decided on the groom’s parents home on Lake Washington. Margot wanted a fresh look with gorgeous floral and french blue accents on long tables. We used a special tent new to Seattle (Tidewater Tent) that was beautiful and due to the ceiling height, we were able to suspend a floral chandelier over the dance floor. They had a wonderful seated dinner, toasted with a very special bottle of champagne and had an assortment of pies for dessert. The full band had the guests dancing into the night. A great time was had by all!

Simple Garden Perfection In The Middle Of New York City

With a venue as beautiful as the Botanic Garden in Brooklyn, you can never go wrong with a simple and classic design just to simply enhance the beautiful backdrop. That’s exactly what this couple did with stunning white florals and lush greenery by Seaport Flowers. This couples’ happiness and love shines through the entire gallery all captured to perfection by Brklyn View Photography!

From the photographer…Weddings at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens are my absolute favorite. You are in the middle of one of the busiest boroughs in all of New York City, yet once you enter beyond the gates, you find yourself inside a luscious garden that is quiet, calm, and completely picturesque which is exactly why Marilyn and Dan wanted to get married at The Palm House!

The bride got ready at the ever stunning Crosby Street Hotel located in SoHo, Manhattan. The hotel rooms have an eclectic decor and abundance of natural light which is a photographers dream. Marilyn wore her grandmother’s gold necklace, which has been worn by all the women in her family on their own wedding days for three generations and counting! It is a true family heirloom. The Bride wore a delicate lace embroidered wedding dress that took everyone’s breath away once she slipped it on.

Dan and his groomsmen got ready at the couples’ apartment in historic Brooklyn Heights. Looking dapper in his tuxedo, he was excited to travel to Brooklyn Botanic Gardens for the couples first look in front of The Palm House. We took full advantage of the sun drenched magnolia plaza during their bride and groom portraits. Their wedding ceremony was held outside in front of a stunning tree just before sunset. Their priest was one of the funniest officiants ever and had everyone in attendance laughing out loud to his cheery annotates and clever analogies. Guests were treated to sunset cocktail hour outside on the terrace before the reception began inside stunning glass atrium of The Palm House.

One of the most memorable speeches was given by Marilyn’s father. He gushed about his daughters accomplishments before recounting one of his favorite childhood memories of Marilyn in her swimsuit as a baby. He even brought it from home for everyone to see! Marilyn and Dan know how to d-a-n-c-e and had a great time on the dance floor while Hank Lane Band brought the house down – no one sat down during the reception!

The Bride and Groom are just the sweetest, kindest and most thoughtful couple and I’m so honored I was a part of their wedding celebration! Congratulations Marilyn and Dan!

Embracing the Cold for a Romantic Winter Wedding Held Outdoors

I want you to close your eyes and imagine the most romantic spot on the planet. I’m betting money it isn’t anywhere outside during the winter in Sweden. Well this beauty captured by 2 Brides Photography just might change your mind. Starting with a brisk yet wildly beautiful outdoor ceremony, Fanny Staaf Events transformed Hedenlunda Castle into a sea of white drapery and candlelight. And the gallery is proof that an outdoor winter wedding just might be the most romantic of them all.

Amanda and Jesper got married in February and they really embraced the season. Inspired by ice, snow and pine forest trees this wedding was an absolut plwasure to photograph! They decided on a wintery outdoor ceremony and when guests arrived they were being served hot apple cider made from Hedenlunda Castle’s own apple orchards. Bride and groom sealed their vows with a kiss under the February sun and the pretties arbor that resembled freshly fallen snow. The dinner was held in the Orangery next to the castle. The stairs leading down to the dining area was lit up by a lots of candles and the hall was decorated as an imaginary winter wonderland. Flowing fabrics, branches of pine and hundreds of suspended glass lanterns. Later closest family and friends gave heartwarming speeches and laughter filled the room. It was truly a magic winter day that will be remembered for a very long time.
