A Cheery Fall “Grazing-Food” Party

Inside a little blue cottage surrounded by lush gardens and golden light, this girl gang got together to host a beautiful fall soiree. Using the season and their surroundings for inspiration, they whipped up Spiced Honey Pear Margaritas, a delicious spread of homegrown “grazing food,” and topped the whole scene all off with personalized details. Take a look, take notes and take in all of the inspiration for your upcoming holiday festivities!

Dripping with ivory pumpkins, foraged florals, and autumn-inspired foods we gathered for an inspired luncheon with good friends. Laughter filled the cozy cottage as we worked together to create a grazing table of goodness of homemade foods.

We took our favorite wooden crate to our local florist and asked them to create a “foraged” looking centerpiece for the table. We also shopped small vendors on Etsy for aprons, leather name tags, and ribbon. We then purchased dusty blue tea towels which served as our napkins.

For the beverage, we opted to hire Roam the Bar to create a custom cocktail for us and then shared the recipe with our guests.

Spiced Honey Pear Margarita

+ 1. 5 oz cinnamon infused Golden Tequila (1 cinnamon stick to 1 750 ML bottle of Tequila. Infused for 24 hours and beyond)
+ 1 oz fresh-squeezed lime juice
+ 2 oz Hone simple syrup (liquify Hone into hot water)
+ 5 oz + fresh pear juice
+ shaken & served over ice

Romantic Southern Oregon Orchard Wedding

Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Southern Oregon landscape is a little place called Hillcrest Orchard. The perfect combo of rustic + romantic, it’s one part breathtaking scenery and one part made for marrying. Now take all of that prettiness and add in lush florals from Penny And Lulu, an adorable duo and sweet lavender hues and it’s awesome wedding in one, two, three.  Head to The Vault for every amazing moment captured by Olivia Leigh Photography.  It’s a must-see.

From Olivia Leigh Photography… This was a beautiful summer wedding located at Roxy Ann Winery with the most wonderful couple, Claire and David. They had a great vision for their day and wanted a very romantic, fun and memorable day. These were my ideal clients, because they were just so perfect to work with. Their love for each other is out of this world and their family and friends were just as equally wonderful to work with! I feel very honored to have documented their amazing day!

From the Bride… It was really important to both of us to be married outside, surrounded by the natural beauty of where we grew up in Southern Oregon. Our vision was to create a rustic chic vibe, and our goal was to throw the best party possible for our friends and family as a way of expressing our gratitude to them. We worked closely with my aunt, Kathryn Kenna, a wedding planner in San Francisco, but ultimately really trusted the vendors that we hired for our wedding. They all had amazing advice and suggestions for us, and knowing how great their work is, we just trusted them along the way.

We chose lavender as our floral and wedding theme, because of its color and amazing smell, and it is in full bloom throughout Southern Oregon in June. We incorporated lavender into all our bouquets along with cream and peach garden roses and eucalyptus.

We got a lot of inspiration and ideas from Pinterest, Instagram, and wedding blogs, but ultimately we went with what felt most comfortable to us. We wanted our family and friends to have great wine, food, and cake, and be comfortable dancing the night away! The biggest hits of the wedding were the parasols we handed out for the ceremony, our homemade photo booth, and the flip flops we left out for guests during dancing.

The cake and wedding photography were also huge successes! The day was such a blast, we were able to relax and really enjoy every moment – although it flew by!

Pastel-Filled Oregon Engagement Session

After seeing the lush, wild and romantic bouquet from this Oregon engagement session, I’m convinced every e-sesh needs one. That, and beautiful pastel dresses, a gorgeous garden setting and, most importantly, a crazy-in-love couple like this sweet Bride- and Groom-to-be. Savor each and every special moment captured by Katlyn Marie PhotoArt in THE VAULT!

From the Bride-To-Be…The first day I officially met Alex was December 31st, 2013. He was a nice, down to earth guy and we had easy conversation. With conversation we both found out that we have Greek blood on our dads’ side of the family, and we both have Greek last names! That was pretty exciting for me to find someone who enjoys the Greek culture as I do. Our relationship has been very fun, easy, and natural! He’s very sarcastic and has just brought a lot of fun to my life this last year and a half that we’ve been together.

From Katlyn Marie PhotoArtUpon meeting this couple I could immediately see their love for each other and their very colorful personalities! When thinking about how to style this engagement session, I was certain I wanted to make it colorful but sweet! This pastel inspired engagement session was a dream, and showed Alex and Jessi’s fun love in every frame!

DIY Oregon Wedding with an Instagram Love Story

We’ve heard all sorts of love stories over the years on SMP, but this couple who met through an Instagram follow? Well, that might be the sweetest digital “meet cute” yet. This little hashtag chronicles their love story (including when Evan popped the question!) and today we’ve got our hands on their wedding photos from Laura Nelson. Pretty lovers, prepare to lose your cool because the gallery is DIY done totally gorgeous. P.S. Got a love story of your own to share? Tell us with #SMPShareYourStory

From Laura Nelson… #adventureswithevanandsophie is where it all started. Evan and Sophie found each other on instagram, fell in love and pledged their love for each other in front of all their friends and family on a smokey summer day surrounded by vines and pear trees.

From the Bride… Once upon a time I was surfing through Instagram and came across a cute boy. He was a music playing, photo-taking barista. What more could a girl ask for? I decided to follow him so I could continue to gawk over his photos along with his several thousands of other instagram-admirers. Somehow in the midst of social media he noticed me and the rest is now history.

Exactly one year after our first date my best friend was in town visiting from school (little did I know it was all a part of the plan). We decided to all take a hike together to take some pictures and enjoy the crisp fall air. Evan and I were posing for a shot when he started saying all these sweet things in my ear. Next thing I know he was reaching into his pocket, getting down on his knee and asking me to marry him. Of course I said “YES!”

We knew we wanted our wedding to be an outdoor summer wedding and soon as the question was popped I began the planning! We were on a pretty tight budget so I began to teach myself sets of skills that I could use for wedding prep! I took a calligraphy class and had my dad teach me some woodwork skills…then the crafting begun! I cut, stained and painted numerous signs and spent hours working on our invitation suite.

My mom and I collected vintage wine glasses and plates to use on the tables and we went to every estate sale in the valley to find pieces of furniture to use throughout the venue. It was definitely hard work but we were able to have the wedding of our dreams while remaining in our budget!

The ceremony took place in an orchard just two minutes from my childhood home on a warm, smoky day in August. My favorite moment of the day was when I was standing at the altar in my white dress, looking into my groom’s eyes and listening to the sweet words he wrote to me in the letters that we exchanged. All in all we laughed, we cried, we ate tacos and we danced the night away! How much more perfect can it get?
