What wedding marathon would be complete without a lovely Southern soirée like this fab number shot by Meredith Perdue? I may be from California but whenever I spot a classic wedding like this, it has me singing an ode to the South. Pale pink is making merry with traditional details and North Carolina charm to make this wedding one not to be missed. Say hello to a gorgeous Christos gown and and a slew of other pretty bits and bobbles in the full wedding gallery!

From the Bride…John and I are traditionalists with a deep love for all things Southern. Brooks Brothers ties were worn by the preppy groom and groomsmen and we wove in a variety of Southern elements that reflected what we love most about living in North Carolina. Our florist created wreaths for the wedding ceremony site that were framed with magnolia leaves, and we had a cake that was frosted to look like something our grandmothers’ made with sugar flower gardenias on each of the layers.  We served blue cheese biscuits as one of our appetizers as another Southern touch- because no matter where you’re from, who doesn’t love a good cheesy biscuit? And finally, we took some wedding day portraits on one of our favorite places in North Carolina- Wrightsville Beach- just outside of the Surf Club where our reception was held.

As I mentioned, I got a lot of inspiration from Style Me Pretty and several other blogs throughout the wedding planning process. I knew I didn’t want to compete with the beauty of either location, so I stuck to a muted romantic palette of ivory, white and gray with pops of blush. Fresh, classic and I thought very appropriate for a beachside wedding. I found some fun gray and white paper straws to coordinate with the antique silver flower containers and complimented the look with silver filigree frames to showcase the table number cards. We actually found the silver frames from the Dollar Store! Our families are incredibly important to the both of us, so we also decorated a table with rose petals and silver frames containing pictures of both sets of our parents on their wedding days. This was something I had seen in other weddings and really loved the connection it made between the bride and groom and their parents.

In addition to our friends and family, our wonderful vendors really made our wedding so incredibly special. Fiore Fine Flowers patiently read ALL of my emails and looked at my inspiration boards and made my wedding even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Our photographer, Meredith Perdue, truly made our wedding a story with her photographs and was an absolute joy to work with. We hired a day of coordinator who was a huge help and made my day worry-free, and Nicki made a cake that was as delicious as it was beautiful. The band kept the party going, with ALLof our guests staying until the last song was played and watched our exit! A huge thank you to all of them for giving us such an incredible wedding!
