For any girl who has ever dreamed of a Cinderella-style wedding, this gallery photographed by KT Merry is your new happy place. Princess-style ballgown? Check. Castle-inspired venue? Check. Drool-worthy wedding bling? Check. Dreamy prince at the end of the aisle? Double check. The event “fairy godmothers” at Cheeky Details pulled this day together in just five months (!!!), and you can see it all in The Vault plus the film from Clark & Walker Studio below.

From Cheeky Details…Barbara and Trevor are such a beautiful couple, inside and out. Their genuine love for each other really does shine through from the first time you meet them. With five months of planning time, Barbara and Trevor contracted us after they booked their venue which coincidentally is one of our favorites on the island. They chose Hempstead House (Sands Point Preserve), a historic gold coast mansion built in 1912, because it fulfilled their desire to have a setting that was timeless; a blank slate where they could showcase who they were through all of the details of the day.
They said “I do” during a completely romantic ceremony overlooking the water amidst a clear blue sky. Their outdoor cocktail hour immediately followed where guests enjoyed a formal yet relaxed atmosphere just as the sun was setting. After which, guests were directed to find their escort card (which sat on a bed of flowers) and make their way into the mansion by following a beautiful path of white rose petals and candles.
The design concept was really important to Barbara. She knew that she wanted a very romantic French vintage vibe from the beginning and was a wedding planner’s dream come true when it came to all of the details. Since we literally had to bring every single aspect of the wedding into this venue, we were able to really make this huge mansion feel like their home for the night. Guests sat at a mix of rectangular tables, some exposed wood with draped lace runners and some covered with a variation of soft grey, blush and cream linens with just a pop of sequin. An abundance of candlelight flickered on the tables and through all of the rooms of the mansion. Vintage place settings, hand torn menus draped with silk ribbon and embroidered numbers all made an appearance on the tables as well.
The flowers were a mix of large flowing arrangements and smaller trinket pieces all in the muted palette that complemented the wedding. We brought in vintage furniture to the empty rooms of the mansion so that guests could stroll through and enjoy throughout the night. Two of our favorites were Barbara’s grandmother’s dresser (that her mother took pictures in front of on her own wedding day) that we used as part of our dessert lounge as well as her dining room table that Barbara and Trevor sat at that night. Barbara is very close with her grandmother so it made it even more special. Since one of B + T’s favorite things to do is enjoy the mornings together over coffee (also how Trev popped the question), we incorporated that into their favors and sent guests home with fresh beans from their favorite coffee spot.
From The Bride… Trevor and I met through mutual college friends 6 years ago. We then ran into each other in Boston and stayed in touch ever since. We connected instantly and formed an incredible friendship. Turns out after a year of friend ship we finally both admitted how we really felt, neither of us thought we were each others type so we never expressed how we felt! Trevor brought out this giddy high school crush feeling that was so refreshing! Since that day our relationship has been such an amazing adventure. We feel so lucky to have found each other.
Our wedding day was such an amazing reflection of us and to this day was one of the most magical days of our lives. We held in in an empty Guggenheim Estate and got to be apart of every decision for the aesthetic and decor. We wanted our guests to feel like they were attending an event in our own home. Even with over 100 guests it still felt personal and like “us.”
We mixed rented vintage furniture with pieces that had meaning to us. The table Trevor and I sat at was my Grandmother’s dining table and the dresser/mirror that our desserts were set up on was the vanity in my mothers old bedroom. It was the same mirror she got ready for her wedding day in front of. The day was incredibly magical, I transported to another world, a beautiful, ethereal, place I might have dreamt about as a chid. I’ll never forget the way it felt walking toward Trevor for our first look, and the look on his face!
We had Fitzgerald love quotes written on mirrors and on our ceremony program to evoke the time the mansion was built. The menus had hand torn edges, we used hand embroidered table numbers and vintage handkerchiefs were handed out for the ceremony. Long tables filled with candlelight to give a more of a personal feel. The best part of it all was being able to express our love for each other while being surrounded with our closest friends and family!
