Some little girls dream of beautiful ballrooms weddings, but since the day I could remember, I dreamed of the perfectly preppy, nautical wedding. A wedding where you can smell the salt air, hear the seagulls and where navy reigned supreme – a wedding that looked exactly like this one captured by Robert & Kathleen Photographers. It’s a seaside soiree that will fuel the dreams of many a east-coast-loving little ladies, and it’s all sitting pretty right here.

From Robert & Kathleen PhotographersIt wasn’t really their first meeting that night. It was more like a re-introduction. Through a crowd of vaguely familiar faces, Nicole and Matt found each other again. It was their five year college reunion. While everyone mingled with name tags on their shirts and drinks in their hands, they struck up a conversation. In a room buzzing with small talk, they made a real connection. They had a conversation that would be the very first step on the road to something truly special. Because in the five years that had passed since graduation, they had both become a bit more than what they had remembered. She was more beautiful, more intriguing. He was so much funnier and, at the same time, more serious. The connection was instant. So much so, you had to wonder why they hadn’t dated when they were in school together. But, with all things in life, it’s all about timing. That night, the timing was perfect. They talked for a long while that night and, during that time the whole room could have emptied out and they wouldn’t have noticed. They were meant to be there that night. Meant to find each other again. At that moment, when the timing was exactly right.

A first date took place shortly after and many more followed. In one another, they found someone that was easier to talk to than anyone else before, someone who understood them, someone who knew exactly what to do to make them laugh. As soon as their friends and family saw them together, they knew. His laugh could make her smile from just hearing it across the room. Her smile would catch his eye even if she just happened to pass by. It was like there was an invisible string, tying them together. They balanced each other out. So when Matt’s job got transferred down to Florida, it was only a matter of time before Nicole went down to join him. There, they made an unfamiliar state feel like home, just by being together. It was there, nearly one year ago, where Matt brought Nicole out onto his balcony and asked her to be his wife. And in that moment, everyone in the whole state could have disappeared and she wouldn’t have noticed. This was the moment that had been so inevitable since the night of the five year reunion. They were meant to find each other that night. He was meant to ask her to be his wife. And she said yes as fast as she could. Because there, in that moment, the timing was exactly right.
