Inspiration comes in all shapes and sizes and sometimes it’s of the four legged variety. This is a mash up of the springiest of florals by Cecily F. Grand, Inc., beautiful outdoor styling by Stacie Shea Events and a lineup of almost too pretty to eat cakes by Lovely Cakes, all with a decidedly equestrian flair. Think high tea with the horses and you’re on the right track. Now hows about a peek at this shoot in moving, breathing sing-songy action captured by Fairytale Studios?  It’s inspiration come to life and we whole heartedly approve.

From Stacie Shea Events… Getting inspiration for this equestrian-styled wedding was quite simple. Lauren, my assistant at Stacie Shea Events lives in North Salem, New York, a quaint, intimate, little town known as “horse country” to the neighboring cities. You can’t go a day without seeing a rider and their horse walking up and down your road, whether it’s in the morning or night. Lauren came to me with a vision — she had always loved the elegance of horses. She felt a deep relationship with these animals, as she grew up riding and living on a horse farm and to this day, many of her family members still ride at a farm not far from their family home. Lauren came up with this idea because she thought it would capture a more casual yet heartwarming side of a wedding, bring out a wedding’s true meaning and show a love for animals at the same time.

After some serious brainstorming sessions, we could not think of a better theme to bring to the Hudson Valley area of New York when the shoot took place on May 2, right before the Kentucky Derby. All the vendors and I knew this would be a great way to celebrate all the upcoming horse races across the states this spring and summer. What better way to motivate brides to head to the track this summer for some wedding inspiration!
