From Melissa of MLKL PhotographyThis styled shoot combines my passions for fashion and wedding photography. As a photographer, I don’t just shoot weddings, I help my brides source original, local pieces that will set their wedding and photos apart – all while telling the story of the places they love. It’s all about personalization. And in this shoot – it’s all about Brooklyn, the bride’s hometown. The bride gives a gentle nod to her home by exclusively featuring local designers in the most important elements of her day. And while her style may be simple, its a far cry from modest! Sparing no detail, the bride is embellished with shoes lending a pop of color — specially customized for this occasion with the addition of braided blush ribbon and strands of black gemstones. Her DIY bouquet was a kaleidoscope of flowers assembled from local Brooklyn markets. Her ring is a unique design from local artisans at Fitzgerald Jewelry. And best of all, she is adorned with a gown customized by a local master of exquisite wedding couture, Samuelle Couture. Everything was shot in Brooklyn’s beautiful Prospect Park this spring.
