Oh, how I LOVE a romantic proposal story – and this sweet, sweet scene in Central Park has stolen my heart in EVERY WHICH WAY. The morning winter stroll, the surprise “Will You Marry Me,” the resounding “YES!”… seriously – does it get any more perfect than this?!? Lucky for us, Katie Markquart Photography captured every romantic movie-esque moment – and followed it up with a cute as can be engagement shoot for us all to peruse. Thursday morning never looked so good. Click here for more.

From Katie Markquart Photography… Billy and Allison came to New York for a vacation at the end of January. Little did Allison know, she was going to leave New York an engaged woman. Billy asked for my help to capture the exact moment he asked Allison to become his wife. He had decided that he wanted to propose on Bow Bridge in Central Park. The morning was sunny but cold, which was wonderful because hardly anybody was in the park, meaning we were able to get shots that you typically can’t because of all the people. It was such a sweet moment when he got down on his knee and Allison turned around to see him. Her hands instantly went up to her face because she was so surprised. She immediately wanted to call her family to share the good news. Afterward, we did a short engagement session in the park to commemorate their special day.

[...] This can be done in lots of different ways. You could go the very public route and propose in a crowded spot in front of tons of strangers watching. Lots of ladies like all of that attention, and it’d be easy to ask a photographer or friend to snap some pictures when you pop the question. You could also pick a private spot in the park such as under your favorite tree or simply take her out there at a time when the park is less busy like during your early morning run or walking home from a restaurant in the evening.
