Oh my goodness, I am loving every last ounce of this pretty, pretty Glen Ridge affair captured by Brad Ross Photography. From the stunning yellow and black color palette to the chic contemporary vibe to the succulent and billy ball-filled blooms, this is one VERY fabulous soiree. From the Bride… The wedding took place in the Women’s Club of Glen Ridge, built in 1925 by Henry S. Chapman as a memorial for his wife. We thought the building and the romantic story behind it suited us perfectly! The building is a beautiful weathered brick on the outside and furnished in antiques from the era in which it was built. The look of the venue connected instantly with our dream wedding.
From the very beginning of our engagement we knew the type of wedding we wanted. There were three things that had to be perfect- the food, the music, and the decor- and it was! We decided on a sharp black and yellow palette, incorporating succulents where possible to add a little softness into the room. The focal point of the main room is a display of towering desserts. Following in suit, we selected treats in the color scheme, adding some of our favorites like lemon heads in mini mason jars and black and white cookies- YUM! To add a whimsical affect, many of the desserts were encased in glass domes.
As a gift for our guests, our event designer set up a little sweets buffet at the exit filled with cookies and candies. It was the perfect way to thank our friends and family for sharing one of the most special days of our lives with us.
