From the Bride… Matt and I knew from the get go that we really wanted to have a comfortable, laid back wedding that was spread out over many days. We found The Pastures after a bit of looking and knew it was the perfect place. We were able to have full creative control, be there from Wednesday to Sunday and have our whole family stay in the house with us! The house was a huge inspiration for us. It is 2 huge old dairy barns converted into the coolest mid-century modern home complete with yoga studio, sculpture gallery, sauna, library and pottery studio. We chose jade plants and succulents to mimic the plants that already existed in the house. The house is so mod and our color palette was an homage to it. I dislike limiting myself to only 2 or 3 colors, and instead used about 7 different colors that all worked beautifully together including coral, turquoise, grey, peacock and chartreuse.

Working in the world of music and production we are very lucky to have incredibly talented friends who were very generous and helpful. The invitations and website were heavily influenced by late 50’s early 1960’s design and were so much fun to create. They were bright and colorful, really setting the tone that this was going to be a serious party!

The weekend ended up being even better than we could have imagined with so many wonderful memories and surprises. The biggest shocker? My family planned a flashmob with 100 guests that was spectacular!

It was a very hot couple of days and the beautiful saltwater pool was in constant use, including during our wedding speeches. It was so cute seeing our 8 nieces and nephews swimming around like little fish while our dads gave their heart felt speeches. It was a true representation of how relaxed the weekend was. The whole thing was really quite perfect.
