If you’re planning a wedding remotely, it’s a good call to look for a venue that can take care of major details. Kim and Dan did just that, choosing the lovely Danversport Yacht Club. We think their wedding turned out beautifully with crisp white bouquets, navy J.Crew wrap dresses, and charming touches like a handwritten love story timeline. They chose the talented Kelly Dillion to photograph their big day. See more images here.
From the Bride… Danny and I met through our mutual friend, and Danny’s Best Man, Josh. We had been friends for about a year, but nothing more even though we both liked each other. Then a small group of us went ballroom dancing for fun and Danny and I danced together the entire time. The next day I was headed back to school in Oklahoma, but we texted like fiends and would chat online into the wee hours of the night. About a month later Danny surprised me by flying out to my school to see me in a musical production I was in and the rest is history :)
Danny proposed on May 10th right before I graduated college. Exactly a year before, we had spent the best day together after not having seen each other for months. We had lunch and spent the day sitting on a bench at a lake near my school. Danny recreated the day and brought me back to that bench to propose. For some reason it was quite cold and windy and of course I fought him the whole way over saying I was too cold. He finally got me to the bench, got down on one knee, and I just started bawling and said yes :)
Finding the venue came first. We were searching for a place within our budget that allowed for a ceremony on the water and a reception room close by and for a place took care of most of the details since we were planning everything from another state. From there everything fell into place since the venue set forth the overall vision. Pinterest was where I gathered all my ideas for the details, and I had a binder that helped me organize. The photos were our most important detail because we had a very specific vision of how we wanted the day captured and Kelly Dillon’s style was exactly what we were looking for :)
