Boston Wedding from M & M Elite Planning + Click Imagery

I absolutely adore when someone in the industry ties the knot. Adore. Because it’s just so fun to see the wedding dreams that have been swimming around in their minds come to life on their biggest of big days. So when Brittany of BKB Photography sent along her big day captured by Click Imagery, I couldn’t wait to peel open the pretty. What I found in this gallery was layer of layer of gorgeous coordinated by M & M Elite Planning, and honestly, what’s better than that? See so much more here.

The pretty party continues with their gorgeous film from Generations Cinemastories

From the Bride… When Collins and I became engaged, I knew selecting a date and planning a wedding in the middle of “wedding season” would prove to be challenging.  As a Boston-area wedding photographer, I know that the summer and fall seasons are traditionally popular among local brides and it could have been quite possible that most, if not all, warm-weather weekends for the 2012 were already taken.  One of the perks of being a wedding photographer is that I get to experience first-hand the different area venues and what they have to offer.  So it’s no wonder why we chose the Seaport Boston Hotel to be the setting for our ceremony and reception.  The weddings I have witnessed at the Seaport have been consistently flawless and the staff is just wonderful.  When we heard that September 1st was available at the Seaport, we knew it had to be our day.  Not only would it be a perfect time of year to have a wedding in Boston, but it’s also the day before Collins’ birthday.  Having an entire weekend celebration with our friends and family made perfect sense.

Having photographed hundreds of area weddings, I have seen so many beautiful and incredible wedding elements that I knew exactly what I wanted to have to create our perfect wedding day. Everything from floral design, furniture, linens, entertainment, to menu selection. Being in the industry, the word on the street was that our wedding would be the “most talked about wedding in the Boston wedding scene”! It was definitely exciting, but a little daunting, none the less!  And being a wedding photographer not behind the camera on my actual wedding day was going to be a little stressful! Selecting a photographer true to the style I shoot like also was challenging to find, hiring my friends at Click Imagery was a no-brainer.

We did a “first look” that was quite emotional for both of us.  I’m so glad we had those few moments alone together before the ceremony.  It was both exciting and personal.  What made it even better was our  adorable Boston Terrier Ollie, who looked quite dapper in his white bow tie and top hat that my mom surprised us with.  He made it down the aisle along with our two ring bearers and of course, a few chuckles from our guests, too. He most definitely stole the show! Collins and I wanted our color scheme to stay true to who we are. So selecting grays, silvers and whites with a hint of sparkle was definitely in mind when planning our wedding. The ceremony was held in the gorgeous Wintergarden Room.

My father walked me down the aisle and I just remember starting to cry, and he looked at me with the biggest smile and said “What’s there to cry about?  This is a HAPPY DAY, I love you.” Having that moment with my father was something extra special that I will always hold close to my heart. After the ceremony, the Seaport Hotel arranged for a silver Cadillac to whisk us away to the top level of the hotel. Our reception was held in the Harborview Ballroom which overlooks and has panoramic view of the Boston Harbor.

Boston Public Library Wedding from Corinna Raznikov Photography

The Boston Public Library might just be the most romantic place in the world to get married.  Either that or every bride and groom who ties the knot there really knows a thing or two about romance.  That’s because every single wedding we see from this pretty little locale hits it right out of the park in the love department with thoughtful details, gorgeous stylings and more than their fair share of meaningful moments.  And this breathtaking day planned to perfection by The Catered Affair?  Well, it just so happens to be boasting all of the above (here’s looking at you beautiful blooms from Winston Flowers), plus a Mr. and Mrs. who are the epitome of stunning.  See so much more from Corinna Raznikov in the full gallery.

Oh, and we’re not done yet.  Check out this lovely film from Long Haul Films… it’s gorgeous.

From the Bride… Before going out to dinner on our first date, Jared and I met on the corner of Boylston and Dartmouth Streets in front of the Boston Public Library, neither of us knowing that we’d be back there four years later as we vowed to spend the rest of our lives together. After Date #1, we were inseparable. Jared proposed on July 4, 2011 during an early morning walk along Walden Pond.

I’d always dreamed of getting married at the Boston Public Library, and it was easy for Jared to fall in love with the great space that captured our passion for Boston, architecture, and literature all in one venue. We chose to have our First Look on the library’s marble staircase. I stood at the top, flanked by 2 marble lions, as Jared climbed the steps to meet me. It was the moment I looked forward to most, and I couldn’t hold back the tears when I turned and saw my handsome husband for the first time.

Our ceremony took place in the Abbey Room beneath richly colored murals depicting the Quest for the Holy Grail. Jared and I created a personalized ceremony from start to finish. Our good friend served as the officiant and relatives read passages from famous writings on love, including a quote from The Alchemist. Our wedding was elegant and classic. I scoured antique shops to purchase globes, books, a typewriter, and other vintage touches to decorate the tables. Winston Flowers created beautiful centerpieces using white, peach, and pink garden roses, rich green succulents, and touches of fresh lavender. In place of a guest book, guests wrote their well wishes on library cards stamped with our wedding date. Our wedding DIY projects included designing and printing the programs, table assignments and signs, crafting lavender sachets, and assembling a colorful candy bar.

Jared and I wanted to emphasize our wedding reception’s party atmosphere, so as soon as the carrot cake had been served, the DJ turned up the music and we hit the dance floor. Our guests were on their feet for the entire evening; the energy was amazing. Jared and I loved watching our friends and family come together to celebrate, laugh, and dance the night away. As the evening drew to a close, I changed into a short strapless dress so Jared and I could make our Grand Exit. Guests waved ribbons as we left the Library and made our way to the Lenox Hotel for the after party.

Jared and I owe a huge thank you to our wedding coordinator, Erin Davies from the Catered Affair. During the year leading up to the wedding, I stayed in touch with Erin via email and monthly meetings. She helped with everything from table linen decisions to a wedding dress disaster. We are forever grateful that Erin was there to make sure that Jared and I were able to live out the wedding of our dreams.

From the Bride… I have heard many brides say, “I was never one of those girls who has always dreamed of their wedding…”. Well I AM one of those girls and I am not ashamed to say it. I have been dreaming of and planning my wedding since I first saw Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. I always knew I wanted the fluffy white dress, the beautiful flowers, the glamorous cathedral length veil, but the rest of the wedding was all just a little bit fuzzy… until I met Dave.

Dave and I met four and half years ago at Mass General Hospital in Boston. He was working in Human Resources and I was attending Boston University and interning in his department for the summer. Being the city where we met and fell in love, Boston holds so many special memories for us. When it came to where we would get married, there was no other choice. We wanted a venue that would highlight the city but still feel intimate and romantic. As soon as we walked into the Great Room at The State Room, all the fuzziness became clear and the wedding planning was on its way.

I wanted a glamorous city wedding that was soft and romantic, but classic and modern at the same time. We chose to stick to black and ivory because they are such classic colors that can still look very modern and updated, and in my opinion, they never get old. But above all, we wanted it to feel very personal. That was one of Dave’s (very few) requirements– he wanted the wedding to feel like us, and he didn’t want to do things or incorporate things just because. He wanted there to be a reason or meaning behind every detail. It could not have come together any better than it did. Everything from our rehearsal dinner venue to our ceremony reading had special, personal meaning to us. We had our rehearsal dinner at Ristorante Fiore in Boston’s North End – the same restaurant where Dave and I had our first date. We were married on November 18th, the same day that my parents and my paternal grandparents were married. During our ceremony, Dave’s Aunt recited the exact same reading that she read at his parent’s wedding 35 years ago. Dave and I wrote the entire ceremony together (taking bits and pieces from Dave’s parents’ wedding ceremony) but then wrote our own vows separately. We had a very close personal friend sing our song (Sam Cooke’s “You Send Me”) as Dave and I had our first dance. Everything about the day was absolutely perfect and pure magic from beginning to end.

As I look back on the day, I cannot think of one single thing I would change or do differently.
