Oh Massachusetts do we have some lovelies to introduce to you this morning! Just another reason Saturdays are so fabulous, don’t you think? To start, any New Englander knows the wonder that is the magical seaside town of Newport, and anyone who knows Newport knows there isn’t a place quite as special as Castle Hill. Am I right? Then get ready to be blown away by some beautiful bouquets by Dogwood Floral Design – I could stare at them all day, and I very well just might. And then we have the take-your-breath-away-it’s-so-gorgeous bridal bouquet that is Everthine. If you can walk in there and not swoon, well I just don’t know if we can be friends. Long story short, we have some of the best of the best to introduce you to this morning, so I highly recommend sticking around for awhile!

From Castle Hill…Vast ocean views of a golden horizon with naturally elegant surroundings, stunning in their simplicity; a one-of-a-kind historic estate aged with the warmth of old-world charm; privacy of a forty-acre peninsula, a white sand beach and wooded walking trails; world-class accommodations, individual and unique; eye-catching, award-winning cuisine and our service team, welcoming and ready to host with grace. This is the legacy of Castle Hill- an inspiring array of unique possibilities guided by the seasonal beauty of the New England year. Classic summertime lawn parties and glowing galas beneath the open sky; gourmet lobster bakes on the beach in the cooling autumn eve; fireplaces warm while snow glistens and intimate promises are made…this is your day at Castle Hill. A member of the prestigious Relais &Chateaux, Castle Hill remains one of Newport’s most iconic landmarks- the epitome of the luxurious 19th century New England seacoast life.

I love the idea of non-traditional elements worked into a traditional design... I am dying for oranges or kumquats in my bridal bouquet!! Wedding date November 2013. Location TBD.
My absolute must-have element - maidenhair fern - isn't a flower. I'd also love to have lupines in my bouquet. Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney was one of my favorite childhood books and I've since associated lupines with love, beauty, and generosity - perfect for a wedding flower! Wedding is July 14, 2012 in Portland, Maine.
I must have lilies on my wedding day. They remind me of my grandmother and give me the feeling of starting something new (i.e.: married life).
The vintage pictures are beautiful!
I love peonies and anything in the blush pink family! It's a little traditional but I like the idea of mixing pure romance with a raw space (venue) and using the flowers to bring in the romance!
Wedding May 26th, Barlow's restaurant, South boston
My favorite flowers are peonies! Peonies are so pretty, smell great, come in gorgeous pastel colors and look fantastic! I am getting married in the spring(april 2012 in Boston) and this would be the perfect flower for my bouquet!!
I absolutely love calla lilies! Especially the dark purple-wine colored ones, which would go perfectly with my wine/gold colored fall wedding next October at the Barn at Gibbet Hill!
Was a winner ever selected?
We wanted to send a special thanks to all the SMP readers who left a response in regards to the giveaway! We were so impressed by all the wonderful suggestions for your bridal bouquet, you all made it so very hard to decide!
After much deliberation, we have selected a lucky winner and have followed up with her via email. If anyone had any additional questions, please feel free to contact me via email at dogwoodfloral@me.com.
Thank you and happy planning! :)
