From Melissa Mermin Love Stories… Brendan proposed to Julie atop the XV Beacon hotel in Beacon Hill, so it was fitting to have their rehearsal dinner there at the new restaurant and wine cellar Mooo. Both Brendan and Julie have family ties to the Navy, and Julie had her grandfathers dog tags from WWII pined to her bouquet. The ceremony and reception were held in the historic Navy yard of Charlestown, Boston at the Commandant’s House, built in 1806. They had favors of nautical maps for the guests as favors. Their dogs Lucy and Oliver were featured on their wine bottles.

Nautical themes are so much fun if only for the chance to get pictures on a boat!
It was an honor to have my wedding featured in SMP! My favorite thing about Julie and Brendan's wedding is the history of the area. We had to have special permission to photograph on "Old Ironsides" within the same where the Battle of Bunker Hill took place over 200 years ago, and the connection the couple had to the maritime. The Commandant's house was built in 1705 and has been rented out for private events for the last few years. Sadly, I was told they have closed this past month for good as it's part of the naval yard and they didn't want to pay for the maintenance. I feel even more honored to have seen it while it was open to the public.
Melissa! Beautiful wedding! You are so talented! ~ Edna - EFD Creative
