Longwood Cricket Club Wedding by Lindsay Madden Photography

August 5th. 2011 by Erin | Filed Under | 18 comments

A wedding at a cricket club just sounds so classic New England and we’re loving every second of it. Especially one so so intimate and casual while still maintaining that easy breezy elegance that we so adore. Not to mention the loads of fabulous eye candy of the flower variety crafted by Winston Flowers.  Lindsay Madden Photography captured all of the festivities held at the Longwood Cricket Club in Massachusetts and the couple is beyond adorable. They first said I Do a week before at a small ceremony in St. Tropez then high tailed it to their hometown for another celebration with family and friends. Sounds like a dream, no? So grab a seat and revel in some gorgeous wedding gallery time starring these two tennis loving love birds.

From Lindsay Madden PhotographyThis wedding celebration is somewhat unique. Unique in the sense that Tim & Darcy got married in front of 30 of their closest family members & friends in St. Tropez, France a weekend before their Cricket Club wedding celebration in Massachusetts. Tim & Darcy love their family & friends so much that they wanted to share this special time with all the people who couldn’t make it to St. Tropez. So, on June 25, 2011, Tim & Darcy had a small ceremony at the Longwood Country Club in Chestnut Hill, MA {just 20 mins from Boston} in order to ‘legalize’ their marriage here in the states followed by an elegant cocktail hour/reception. There were no bridal parties, getting ready shots or bouquets, but instead there was a whole lot of simple elegance, happiness & love. My favorite.

I love nothing more than when a bride & groom stay true to themselves. It’s easy when planning a wedding to lose sight of your original vision and of what matters most because you sometimes feel as if you have to please everyone. This wasn’t the case for Tim & Darcy. Tim & Darcy have a LOVE for tennis and the the two of them met while playing for Princeton’s tennis team almost 8 years ago. They have been members at the Longwood Cricket Club for about 4 1/2 years & while, the cricket club isn’t known for hosting large wedding celebrations, Tim and Darcy didn’t care. They knew they had to have the ceremony & celebration at Longwood because it holds a special place in each of their hearts. They couldn’t imagine sharing their special day with their family & friends at any other place.

The ceremony was held right next to a beautiful manicured tennis court & the service was officiated by the amazing Federal Court judge, Marianne Bowler. It was simple, beautiful & perfect. The cocktail hour/reception immediately followed the small service & was held both inside the club and outside on the patio overlooking the tennis courts. Gorgeous purple uplighting {by Boston uplights}, large Chinese lanterns & delicate candles set the summery & cozy feel for Tim & Darcy’s guests. There were mason jars filled with flowers {by Winston Flowers} & sand in order to capture Tim & Darcy’s love for the outdoors. This was the celebration they envisioned & I was so grateful to be the one who got to capture it.
