From the Bride…After knowing each other for over 8 years, we wanted to create a simple, beautiful and meaningful celebration, only shared with a small number of our close friends and family. One thing we really wanted was to find a venue that we could house our wedding party and family for not just the day of, but for the entire weekend. We were so pleased when we found The Bold Colorful Life Inn located in Boothbay, Maine. The Inn not only featured a large farmhouse and small guest cottage, but also a small rustic barn, all right on the ocean which also tied in beautifully with our aesthetic.
Color was the largest inspiration for the day. From the decor and attire to the bridesmaid’s dresses and the display of 100’s of repurposed glass pieces on the family style dining tables. We hired local vendors across the board- even beer brewed the morning before right in the next town over.
We skipped having a DJ or reception band and instead had each guest, along with their RSVP, send in a dance request song. The night was filled with hand-picked songs from all of our friends and family.
The glassware is still displayed in our home, as well as many of our guests’ homes as we asked them to take their favorite piece.
Truly a magical weekend that we relive all the time.
