From Melanie GabrielleI have always loved the idea of elopements. Just two people who are crazy in love, a faraway land full of adventure, and a promise to love each other for the rest of their lives. What an absolute dream!

For this shoot, I really wanted to provide brides who are thinking of eloping with inspiration. To show them that just because you’re eloping, doesn’t mean you have to give up on your dream details or a small picnic on the beach. It also doesn’t mean you have to spend a lot to have a beautiful ceremony or dinner setup. We wanted to inspire these brides to use the surrounding nature to help bring their dream wedding to life.

This couple eloped on the beach a few months prior to our session, so it brought an extra meaning to the day! Roxanne Bellamy Events put together the most darling picnic on the beach with french pastries and baguettes to pay homage to our French groom, while Ever After Floral Designs put together one of the most stunning, yet simple ceremony space using one of the unique palm trees on the island. We had so much fun exploring the island and dipping our toes in the ocean. And the islands didn’t disappoint with a breathtaking pastel sunset.

Elegant Black Tie Tampa Yacht Club Wedding

Lesson learned from these elegant yacht club nuptials? Twinkling lights, gleaming gold and baby blue details, and tuxedos as far as the eye can see make for one beautiful set of “I Do’s.” Lucky for us, Kallima Photography was there to capture all the pretty — from the endless laughs to the enviable ‘maid squad moments — and we’ve got it all in the gallery right here!

From Kallima PhotographyKate and Josh had a gorgeous classic black tie wedding in Tampa, Fl. The bride and groom chose the Tampa Yacht and County club for their reception venue. Guests were treated to a band underneath a clear tent in the back of the club overlooking Tampa Bay. The clear tent featured hanging floral arrangements and strung lights. For their ceremony, the couple was married at the Jesuit School chapel, and they were the last couple to ever be married there as the chapel was to be renovated just after the day. The couple was sent off with a sparkler exit.

Bohemian

From Leah Dorr PhotographyThere’s a softness, an elegance, a peaceful vibe found in a tropical setting; that’s what my vendor team and I wanted to portray! When we came up with the concept of a tropical, bohemian feel to our shoot, we really wanted to push past the typical bright, bold, primary color pallet. We used colors that pulled from mother of pearl, sand, honeydew, sea glass, and star fruit, along with that great sea foam color in the air plants and crisp white and gold accents to create a cool, clean foundation. The tangerine in the dress, ruffles of the cake, and the pop of orchid in the tablescape added a great flirtatiousness while the geometric shapes and metallic touches added an edge. All of this coupled with a messy fish-tail braid and a beautiful B & B as the backdrop made for an event that I myself would love to attend. The shoot had a fresh, airy and bright feel to it! Strongly inspired by the sunny, tropical blossoms of summer, our inspiration for the shoot was bohemian, but still remained elegant and classy.

Ashlee from Simply Roses Florist added an incredible amount of beauty to the shoot with gorgeous blooms! Tilandsia and xerographica plants, anthurium, calathea, queen protea, ranunculus, blushing bride protea, mokara orchids, bamboo shoots, and eremurus made for an exquisite and modern look! The soft and graceful look of the bride’s hair and make up was created by the very talented Noelle from Marjan Salon. The one of a kind ombre dipped dress was created by Erin from RCB Fashion. The gold and ivory pearly hand-crafted jewelry was made by the talented Corinna from Corinna Maggy Designs. The four tiered cake with ombre ruffles was made by Sherri from The Pastry Studio. The leafy invitation suite was made by Brydon from Brydon Paper Designs.

From Amalie Orrange Photography… Shannon and David were married in a gorgeous church, St. Andrews, in Sanford, Florida. With stunning sprawling landscape and a beautiful back drop we had the best time with these two! Our jaws dropped when we walked into their reception space at The Winter Park Racquet Club, there were pops of pink, sherbet and amethyst… so dreamy! I think our favorite details was the wooden chargers and the donut bar, hello donuts!!

From The Bride… It was almost like something out of the movie, Love and other Drugs. We were both pharmaceutical reps selling competing products; so we ran into each other for the first time in a doctors office. Then a few weeks later, David’s past partner started working for my company and asked me to meet up for lunch. Being from out of town, she asked if I minded if another friend met up with us. Of course I said “not a problem!” That friend was David. It was at that lunch that we discovered we were born in the same hospital five hours away, and had lived a few miles away from each other the majority of our lives.

A few of my favorite things include coffee, holidays and water. His proposal couldn’t have been any more perfect in my mind. It was Thanksgiving morning and we woke up early to load up the car to travel to see family. David asked me to go have our morning coffee on the dock in his backyard that overlooked the lake. I walked out the back porch in my pajamas and no make up, with coffee in hand. As we sat on the dock he asked me “What are you thankful for on this Thanksgiving?” I said a few things… then set him up perfectly asking “What are you thankful for?” He looked at me and said “God giving me you”. He went on about all the things he loved about me and didn’t want to spend another day without me being more than a girlfriend to him!  He pulled the ring out his old sweatshirt and that’s when I saw the ring box of an old family friend’s jewelry store. He told me the story about how he had a few cushion cut diamonds hand picked by this jeweler from Antwerp and brought back for him to choose the special one for my ring to be designed around. It was nothing short of the most the most thoughtful gift, presented in the most intimate way on my favorite holiday!

Romantic Boho Engagement Shoot

Take one adorable duo, a stunning locale like Washington Oaks Garden State Park and a talented photog that loves them both dearly and the results are this: a breathtaking (+ seriously sweet) engagement sesh sure to brighten even the dreariest of work weeks.  Think one light-filled image after another, plus a cute pup.  Head to The Vault for even more captured by Jenna Alexander.  It’s all sorts of awesome.

From Jenna Alexander… Wowsers, I love this engagement session!

So it’s kind of a cool story how I met these two. I was at my shop one day and all of a sudden a soops cute couple walked in. They left and another couple walked in and… no, i’m just kidding, John and Emily were the soops cute couple! So anyway, they walked in and said something like, “Hey! are you Jenna? We’re best friends with Meredith (former bride / my best friend’s sister)!”  After that first encounter, we became instant friends. Emily and I bonded over crafting, yoga, and running, and Za and John bonded over surfing, being outside, and eating.

The week before John proposed to Emily, he called me up and asked me if I should shoot the proposal or just engagement photos, after she said “yes,” of course. Knowing Emily, I thought she’d like to pick out a cute dress for a photo shoot (which she did), so I suggested the latter. And here we are now.

Below you’ll find John and Emily’s engagement photos taken at the most beautiful state park, Washington Oaks! Wow. It’s beautiful, and so is this couple. I’m beyond happy for these two to tie the knot! Hope you enjoy their photos!

Colorful Rustic Spring Wedding at Bowing Oaks Plantation

This is one of those weddings where you think you’ve picked a favorite part, and then a couple pics later and that part has some competition. I was loving these colorful, succulent splattered bouquets, but then had a good look at the Bride’s blossom in her hair and I just can’t decide what’s better. Or how about the antique plates? Or the look on this Groom’s face when he saw his blushing Bride? See what I mean? Lucky for us, Julie Paisley captured them all and this gallery is full of these goodies for us to Pin away!

From Julie Paisley… Sometimes it rains on your wedding day and you have to go to the back up plan, but that didn’t take away the joy from this day. The ceremony was all set up under the big oak tree but Florida in the spring can have a mind of it’s own. In spite of the last minute change of moving the ceremony inside, the wedding still went on with smiles from all.

I really loved Bekah’s style. The different colors of the wedding dresses, the floral print ties on the groomsmen and the mix-matched china place settings tied in her rustic/vintage theme. Beautiful venue and beautiful details tied it all together giving us a fresh alternative from the traditional blush/pink rustic style. Bekah’s heritage is Irish, in fact, the majority of the guests made the trip to FL from Ireland for the wedding and her grandfather officiated the wedding. It was pure joy to shoot this wedding, beauty for the eye and the love of family for the soul.
