Outdoor Summer Hill Country Wedding

Strictly Texan with a touch of glamour, this fabulous Vista West Ranch fete from Heather Hawkins is Southern with a shabby chic flair. I’m talking a wedding party sporting cowboy boots and Texas Hill Country dressed up like you’ve never seen before. It’s rustic meets romance and it’s all waiting for you in the gallery!

From Heather Hawkins… I’m eager to share this sweet outdoor summer wedding with you! It had been pouring rain all Spring in Texas and the clouds held back for this outdoor ceremony, lucky for the bride Katie!

From the beautiful Bride… My husband, Dalton, and I have a very unique love story. It’s one that we love to tell over and over, even when we sometimes get caught up in life. Our wedding was an exact reflection of our story, which began in Austin TX five years ago. Originally from New Jersey and having moved to Chicago for college, an outdoor Texas wedding was not exactly what I had always dreamed of since a little girl. However, it couldn’t have been more fitting for us as a couple. I wanted to bring to life all of the many qualities that made me fall in love with Dalton for our special day. When I met him, I found myself quickly at ease with his laid-back nature, free spirit, and gentle heart. Born and raised in Texas, Dalton grew up spending a lot of time on his family’s ranch in West Texas. On our first visit to Vista West Ranch, we immediately connected with the rustic hillside beauty and intricate Texas charm that I myself have come to love. Among all qualities about Dalton that I appreciate most, much like what I loved most about Vista West, was how different he was from any other relationship I have had. He was a country boy, yet sophisticated and simple with so much character; he could be quiet at times and others full of life. It was a familiar feeling, and one I was eager to share with all our friends and family a little over a year later.

After finding our golden venue, we got even luckier with owners Joe and Stacy from Vista West Ranch, who could not have been more inviting and accommodating throughout the whole planning process. From beginning to end, the perfect day we had imagined turned out to be just that and more. Every little detail was so well thought out by our wonderful vendors, “Team Huey,” especially our Day-Of Coordinator, Jaime, from Coordinate This. There’s something so surreal and romantic about an outdoor ceremony in the middle of Texas Hill Country that speaks to you, as if we were the only ones in that moment promising our lives to each other. I could not have imagined a more meaningful spot to say our vows than under the gorgeous lace and eucalyptus-entwined trellis that Lindsay from Petal Pushers designed for us. Continuing the tone of our ceremony, our head dinner table was lined with the same fresh eucalyptus runner over a lovely vintage farm table. The room was surrounded by natural exposed wood, draped burlap curtains and hanging ball twine lights, while outside our guests enjoyed our signature cocktails and sugar cookies by the bonfire under the twinkling-lit oak trees. Needless to say, the night was our kind of “dreamy.”

Our Texas Wedding would not have been complete without our wedding party dressed in cowboy boots and a first dance to Texas Country artist, Wade Bowen. The love and support was so present in the room, and looking back we would not have changed a thing. Thanks to our amazing photographer, Heather Hawkins, we are able to enjoy looking at all our photos of the day and night reminiscing all the little moments that seem to fly by so fast. Many traveled so far to share in our special day and now we’ll forever have the once in a lifetime memories.

Glamorous Hill Country Wedding

I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this magical Ma Maison wedding captured by Awake Photography. I mean, the Bride and Groom are just about as gorgeous as they get. And can we talk about her side braid for a minute? So Pinterest-worthy. Actually, it all is. With the perfect bit of glam, blush and gold Yellow Umbrella Events & Design &  WOW Factor Floral Design hit the ball out of the design park, and I’m officially drooling over every image. See them all here.

From Awake PhotographyLeah and Brian’s Cali-Tex wedding in the stunning Texas Hill Country was the truly a day to be remembered. Leah and her fabulous side braid were showstoppers alongside her bridesmaids in mix-matched blush sequins. The glam was amped up by Yellow Umbrella Events and the talented ladies at Wow Factor Floral. Touches of gold and plenty of blush tones tied the day together perfectly.

Garden-Inspired Summer Brunch Wedding at Camp Lucy

I love a bold Bride. A Bride who throws white out the door and rocks an unbelievably stunning navy Tara LaTour wedding dress, like this beauty. She’s kind of my new hero, and her Camp Lucy fete? It’s equal parts garden-lovely and sophisticated elegance and it now sits atop my faves list. With Mint Photography behind these gorgeous snaps, I’ve got a feeling you’ll fall in love with it too.

Elegant Eco-Friendly Texas Wedding

This Bride knows a thing or two about sustainability and her wedding was no better place to put those practices to work. Loft Photography captured every thought out detail at their gorgeous venue, Ma Maison, and this gallery is not only beautiful, but pretty darn inspiring as well. If this Bride can be this conscientious at her own wedding, I’m motivated to step it up a bit in my own daily life.

From Loft PhotographyAnn and Cody had one of the most unique and beautiful weddings that we’ve had the privilege of being a part of it. The couple’s focus on economic sustainability was both intriguing and well done, their love for each other was contagious and inspiring, and their wedding day was as pretty as they come!

From The Bride… As a recent graduate of a Masters program in Sustainability with a personal focus on lifestyle choices, I knew my own wedding was a perfect platform to try and flex my sustainable event planning muscles. As I care deeply for the environment and human well-being within it, I was out to prove that I could have a sustainable wedding without sacrificing the elegance I’d always hoped for. For a year, I worked diligently with my planner and the vendors to identify the parts of the wedding that we could make the most sustainable. This means as little environmental impact as possible, and thinking about lessening the number of “links in the supply chain” that items had to travel to get to our wedding, in addition to the livelihoods and well-being of those providing services to us. That’s a lot to think about, but I believe in the coming years, it will become an easier process as brides demand sustainable elements for their events. The venue we selected is built of reclaimed materials. We used as many local vendors in Austin as we could for food, florals, music, photography and much more. All the florals were of organic origin. Family heirloom candelabras and antique rugs were used for ceremony decor. The potted trees present at the reception were Lacebark Elms and are native to the Austin region. Three were donated to the Girl Scouts to plant, and one was donated to Ma Maison to be planted at the venue. Most of the food was seasonal, USDA-certified organic and locally sourced. By serving seasonal and local veggies as the largest part of the wedding dinner, we prevented shipments having to come from distant regions that subsequently produce huge amounts of carbon. Any leftovers were composted by the caterer at our request. We’d like to highlight that one of the meats served was local Wild Boar. This animal is growing in destructive numbers across the south and is fairly dangerous to people. It has a wonderful rustic flavor, and made quite a tasty ravioli filling at our wedding. There were few, if any disposables at the wedding besides cocktail napkins, and for our grand exit we opted for organic rose petals to be tossed instead of sparklers. Sparklers are made of mined metals that can come from environmentally stressed regions and have dangerous conditions for workers.
