From the beautiful Bride…When we started planning our dream wedding we envisioned a weekend surrounded by our loved ones in a beautiful, serene setting. The hardest part of the journey was finding a venue that was ours, inviting, and could truly set the tone for our vision. The moment we stepped onto the grounds at Sweetwater Farm we knew it was everything we had dreamed of. It painted the perfect canvas for our fall wedding between the barn, the main house and all of the individual details in the rooms. There were even a couple of horses and a sheep to fulfill the rural feel.
We wanted to personalize every part of the wedding, our attempt to reciprocate the love and support that our guests have given us over the years. On the wedding day itself we added special details like placing pictures all around the reception. These pictures were memories of loved ones who had touched our lives along the way but couldn’t be there with us and of family marriages who inspire us daily. We created a romantic and warm feeling by placing small floral arrangements and mason jars filled with candles throughout the wedding venue. The ceremony was topped off with a beautiful chuppah that was draped with a lace top and floral touches. Lastly, we worked with our caterer to find amazing farm tables and mixed china to complete our look. All the hard work and organization made our big day all the more special, concluding with a bang with a final sparkler exit at the end of the wedding night!
The dream of our wedding day transformed into a whole weekend celebration as we filled the bed and breakfast with all of our family and friends for two nights. The day itself was the most picturesque fall day a bride could dream of… November and 65 degrees outside in Pennsylvania! The most memorable part of the my day was walking arm in arm with my mother and father through all of our loved ones and seeing Brian waiting for me under the chuppah. The day was truly a dream come true!

Perfectly rustic, perfectly pretty and everything in between, this wedding is an example of laid-back elegance done oh-so-right. The perfect merger of rich, dark hues with an eclectic mix of details, it’s the sort of day that makes you wish you could marry all over again… just so you could steal every last stylish moment captured by Danielle Nowak. And we totally support that, by the way. Click here for more.
From the Bride… We both love the outdoors and wanted our wedding to feel earthy, yet elegant, so we chose to have our wedding at Terrain at Styer’s, which is a rustic venue that serves amazing seasonal menu items sourced from local Philadelphia farms. Our vision for the night was to create an intimate dinner party rather than a traditional event, so dinner was served family style in a cozy wooden barn and followed by an assortment of seasonal pies.
From there, other choices like floral arrangements and s’mores by the fire pit all came naturally with the feeling we were trying to capture. Tom and I both work at the Urban Outfitters home office, so the majority of our décor were items found at URBN samples sales. However, our favorite piece of décor was a Spoke Woven dream catcher that we received from a close friend the day before our wedding. It was an impromptu addition that we hung from the temple during our ceremony and really helped to set the mood for the evening.
Looking back, after months of planning and countless appointments, it was exhilarating to see everything come together so seamlessly. Having both of our families and friends gathered together to witness and celebrate our love will forever be a fond memory.

If you could see me right now, you’d see an embarrassing show of bouncing in my seat, enormous grin on my face, hands clasped under my chin… because this wedding is amazing. AH-MAZING. Lauren + Tim Fair captured the day in all its beauty, and boy is there a lot of beauty. I would be remiss not to give you the link to the gallery right away.
From the photographer… Aubrey + Brian’s stunning Grace Winery at Sweetwater Farm wedding was a dream to photograph. Aubrey was inspired by French elements, including all white vintage mismatched chairs, lavender, herb planter table names, stone wall backdrop in the barn, macaroons + other delicious treats, and signature cocktails. With beautiful florals from Belovely that incorporated pieces of vintage lace Aubrey sourced, to the all-white vintage chairs from Maggpie Vintage Rentals, there was a dream team of vendors.

From Design*Sponge… This is the first ever design*sponge wedding inspiration shoot. We were inspired by the merlot-colored dinner plate dahlias that we kept seeing at the floral market. With that color in mind, we headed off to one of our favorite places on the East Coast – Terrain at Stylers just outside of Philadelphia. We took our Brooklyn crew, including one of our favorite wedding photographers, Jorge de la Barra, down to Philly to spend a day creating an wedding inspiration shoot. Philadelphia florist, Sullivan Owen created loose wild arrangements filled with our inspiration flower. And Lael Cakes made a beautiful simple cake to compliment her flowers.
