Happy Holiday Party

A whole lot of glitter, a whole lot of gold and a whole lot of happy.  This, my friends, is what I call a can’t miss holiday party.  Think yummy treats mix and mingling with gorgeous blooms from Lance Hayes Flowers, amazing images from Ashleigh Jayne  and fabulous details all styled to perfection by Angela Marie Events.  Inspiration overload?  Yes, please.  Click here for sooo much more

From Angela Marie Events…  I always like a little glam during the holidays, so I used lots of gold paired with pinks and reds! I used beautiful red and gold Lenox china and paired it with gold etched glasses from Anthropologie. I used golden pears and beautiful pomegranates down the table. The menu cards, place cards, and invitation was created by Proper Prints. We decided that the holidays is a happy time-so why not celebrate all that makes us happy?!

Our model is sporting an Adrianna Papell dress from Bella Bridesmaid Baton Rouge, earrings from BHLDN, and Kate Spade glitter pumps. We featured three fun cocktails for our party and served delicious desserts-caramel pecan cheesecake, chocolate naked cake, sugar cookies, and chocolate cake calls.

We also served some great cheeses and fruit with good ole southern cheese straws! And what makes people pretty happy? Wine, of course! Pretty Italian wines to go for guests’ favors!

From Sapphire EventsMargaret Anne and Kyle planned a destination wedding in Kyle’s Hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. Margaret Anne is a classic beauty with classically elegant taste. She aimed for a minimalistic color palette with major “wow” factors for the reception.

The beautiful floor-to-ceiling-to-floor draping created a huge impact that amazed guests upon entering the reception venue, and the light and ethereal decor design contrasted beautifully against the hundred-years-old cypress pine beams and rustic elements of this warehouse space. Margaret Anne was the first to view the space as she arrived in her limo with Kyle, and she squealed when she saw the lights aglow. Sweet, simple, traditional, and decidedly Southern, this celebration exemplified everything Margaret Anne and Kyle had imagined for their big day!

Vintage Glam French Quarter Wedding

The best weddings are built on moments with meaning. Moments like the Bride’s cap veil handmade using her mother’s wedding gown, and modeled after her great grandmother’s veil from the 1920′s. Or the reception decor, including many pieces straight from the Bride and Groom’s own home. Pieced together, these details make for an unforgettable day captured by Catherine Guidry and Films By Dan.

From Catherine GuidryHeather and Matt are quite possibly one of the most talented couples I’ve met. They’re also wedding photographers so you can imagine how excited and honored I was when they contacted me to photograph their wedding! Not only are Heather and Matt completely smitten and so much fun to photograph but their details were also lovely, unique, and personal.

The Grimm wedding could be described as vintage, personal, and timeless. Heather told me “If Pottery Barn and the French Quarter had a baby….it would be their wedding style.”

As a photographer, lighting is HUGE. So, photographing other photographers was really a joy because I could see that this played a large part in their day…everything from where they got ready to how the string lights hung overhead at the Degas House. The feel was very comfy, cozy, and crazy cool; I literally could go on and on.

The centerpieces consisted of oversized lanterns: different shapes, sizes, and colors (Heather’s favorite). They brought a classic element to this French Quarter wedding. The color palette was peach, gold, and navy, and their mix-matched bridesmaids’ dresses were to die for.

I think the largest visual theme for their wedding was the DIY, personal feel. Almost all of the decor was from their homes. Heather also hand painted every sign, created the table/bar runners and designed the printed items and CD Favors. The photo booth props and signs were hand crafted and the marquee lights were created by the couple as well. Heather’s mom planted the mint favors from their garden and the backdrops and decor were all hand-made. The bride and groom table is their farm table from home…and even their wedding iinvitationswere designed by Heather and addressed by hand.

Her Juliet cap was made by her mom from her own wedding gown and modeled after Heather’s great-grandmother’s veil from the 1920′s. Matt’s favorite detail was their rings: Heather’s were created from her grandmother’s wedding rings!
