Quaint Southern Chapel Wedding

There’s something about this simple chapel wedding that makes my heart really happy. Like smiling ear-to-ear and can’t stop happy. It’s a little reminder that the very best days aren’t overdone with details, but rather focus on the love. Watch the story unfold from Amy Arrington’s lens right here.

From Amy Arrington PhotographyStefanie + Tyler were married at one of the sweetest little churches in the South. Whitefield Chapel is located at Bethesda Academy in Savannah. The scene at Bethesda is so dreamy with all of the oak trees and Spanish moss.

From The Bride…We chose Savannah for our destination wedding because of its beautiful southern charm, romantic feel and an enjoyable weekend for our guests. The weekend was planned to allow our guests to experience the highlights of Savannah; Thursday night was a haunted Halloween ghost tour, Friday guests were invited to rehearsal dinner at Lady and Sobs followed by a cocktail party at the 109 West house, Saturday was our wedding and Sunday guests joined for a farewell brunch.

Our wedding day was a beautiful fall day in Savannah where the bridal partygoer ready at the 109 West House. Trolleys transported the bridal party and guests from historic downtown Savannah to The Whitefield Chapel at Bethesda Academy. The ceremony was conducted by a family friend, Judge Kenneth Lester in a historic chapel filled with friends, family and flowers in memory of Stefanie’s Nanny and Tyler’s Grandma Ruby.

Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour on the patio of Trustees Garden enjoying snacks and Peachy Savannah Sangria. The night was filled with fantastic Motown music courtesy of The Root Doctors band which kept guests dancing all night long.

After our sparkler exit we were whisked away on a pedicab, wishing all of our friends and family a farewell after the end of a perfect day!

One year prior, Tyler proposed to me while on vacation, so Savannah will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Colorful Savannah Wedding

On its own, Savannah, Georgia is pretty much the epitome of perfect marrying.  But add to the mix the styling prowess of Morgan Gallo Events, lush florals from Harvey Designs and an entire world of vibrant hues (think pink, yellow and orange) and it becomes the land of, well… everything.  It’s one part rustic, one part whimsical and all parts pretty.  See it captured beautifully by Nate Henderson right here.

From Nate Henderson Photography… Kara and Brian chose historic Savannah, Georgia for their destination wedding. The ceremony took place in the traditional courtyard of the Ships of the Sea Museum, while their reception was held at the museum’s newly constructed pavilion.

The bride was involved on many details of the wedding, including custom designing and printing the textiles used at the wedding. The florals by Harvey Designs were overflowing with a bright spring look. Southern food served family style was prepared by Chef Nick Mueller. It was all quite awesome!

From The Bride… We wanted to have a beautiful, simple day that really highlights how much we appreciate our friends and family. As much as this day is about celebrating our relationship, we also want it to be a celebration and thanks to our friends and family. My brother married us and one of Brian’s friends played guitar for the ceremony. We really wanted to have the ceremony be an inclusive celebration.

From Morgan Gallo Events… Ships of the Sea contacted us to stage a photoshoot to help show off the various areas of their venue and how they can be utilized. We wanted to show off the orchard (which we feel is the feature piece of their property) and ensure that the leaves and trees were the staple of the shoot. We started envisioning that the main color for the flowers and decor items be white as to not compete with the various colors of the leaves. The idea of the bright red apple started to show up and the next thing you know, the theme transformed into the “Enchanted Forest/ a Modern Day Snow White” was born!

We accented the table with the red plates/glasses but kept the flowers neutral. Snow White wouldn’t be complete without a mirror…so i thought it would be neat to hang various mirrors over the reception table. For the ceremony, we mixed benches and some amazing clear back chairs for the seating and lined the aisle with groupings of lanterns filled with apples and candles and mocked the same decor but in a great bulk at the front where the couple stood. My favorite piece is the strung apples creating a canopy over the aisle! My second favorite detail, the base of the cake stand–which was ALL apples that sat on top of a mirror!
