From Nate and Jenny Weddings
… Katharine and Luke came from their home in San Francisco to celebrate their wedding on St. Simons Island, Georgia, where Katharine spent her childhood summers. They planned a modern and beautiful wedding in under four months, filled with touches of green and blue, and nods to Luke’s career as a collegiate rowing coach, including an exit under crewman’s oars. Katharine’s BHLDN dress and Toms wedges complemented her sweet and modern style perfectly.

I could get lost in Florida weddings forever, and I often find myself doing just that. For instance, this morning I spent far longer than I would care to admit with this beauty at the Oyster Bay Yacht Club captured by Tonya Beaver Photography. Because, really, how can you not linger a little longer with a wedding this lovely? It’s filled to the brim with pretty, and you can linger as long as you like right here in the full gallery of images.

From Tonya Beaver… Caroline and David had an amazing wedding day. It was in spring time which in Florida is generally really warm, but a random cold front came through and made the day FREEZING. These two didn’t care about any of the cold weather or expected rain, they just wanted to get married. And that they did. I met Caroline and the girls at a little condo beside Oyster Bay Yacht Club for their getting ready shots. I loved Caroline’s choice of colors and decor. From there we headed over to the boats to capture David’s getting ready shots on the family yacht. The setting on the water made for some really fun wedding. The ceremony started, and it was so moving. There was not a dry eye in the place. My favorite moment was when they each put a note in a box that Caroline’s grandfather made, and the officiant locked the box with a key. Later guests were asked to write notes to the couple which was also included in this box. On their first year anniversary they will open the box to relive all the emotion from their wedding day and the start of their new life together. After the ceremony, we did a few photos around the club. The lighting was gorgeous, and the couple to me just looked like models.
The reception was FUN to say the least. The cold air blew through the porch the whole night, but everyone was having so much fun that nothing else mattered. The toasts were incredibly entertaining especially when David’s two brothers got up to speak. David was embarrassed (not to mention their poor mother)! We cut the cake + cupcakes and headed back out for more fun. The couple slipped outside with me to take a few “night time shots” out by an old oak tree then we slid them through their exit with all of their guests waving sparklers around them. What a perfect ending to a perfect day.

From Jamie Borland Photography… I’m so excited to share with you one of my favorite weddings from 2012. The bride is the coordinator for the Ritz Carlton, Miami and she put thought and effort into every minor detail resulting in a stunning wedding from start to finish! She admits much of her inspiration was from Style Me Pretty! The brides vision was a “modern and elegant wedding” with a simple color palate of white and silver which complimented their lush pink ballroom beautifully. Their reception ended by releasing LED balloons into the crystal clear sky. It was pure magic.
From the Bride… Jeff and I wanted a destination wedding but somewhere that was close to home and that everyone could come celebrate with us. We couldn’t have chosen a better location then The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. Being that we met at the location in Miami, we felt it would be very meaningful to get married at one of their sister properties. Our wedding weekend was absolutely amazing with beautiful weather. We were surrounded by friends and family all weekend who shared so much of their love with us. What made it even more special was that it was Thanksgiving Weekend and I was able to share the Holiday with many of my friends and family.
One of my favorite moments was at the ceremony standing with my husband to be, holding hands and looking into each other’s eyes and feeling as if we were the only ones there. I was the happiest girl in the world. One of the most important things to me was that everyone danced the night away and thanks to my DJ, that’s exactly what we all did. I always dreamed of a simple, modern, elegant wedding. I loved the idea of all my bridesmaids wearing different color palette dresses and styles.
My sister and I created the table numbers from an idea we got online. We spray painted some small glass jars with looking glass spray paint and large number stickers. We then added a small candle to each jar. The gorgeous sheen of the new mirror look made the flame of the candle dance around the entire glass jar. It was perfect. I could not have done this without the help of my mother and sister who were there for me every step of the way and were so creative. Most importantly I married the man of my dreams and I look forward to our future together.
