Engagement Rings Around The World, You’ve Got Some Chic Competition

Dare I say it? Are poppies my new favorite flower? One look through our Vault and Oliver Fly’s pics and I’m obsessed. The only thing beating these beauties is this stunner of a ring. It screams chic style while still being oh so simply lovely. Kelly Oshiro worked her magic for this whole entire shoot, with the help of Casa de Perrin, Found Vintage Rentals and Nice Plume – join me fangirling over it all right this way!

From Oliver Fly Photography… As a big travel lover, I have always dreamt of visiting a desert and discovering suddenly, as if a mirage, a lush oasis amid arid desert. But, unlike a true mirage, this slice of heaven really does exist in the Oasis of Mara, a 9,000 year old oasis surrounded by the Mojave Desert and Joshua Tree. Inspired by the contrasting textures of these two environments, I sought to the capture the magic of the Oasis and the lush green palms of the oasis juxtaposed to the dry, spiky outlines of the Joshua Tree.

For the first bridal look, the bride donned an elegant, full wedding dress by BHLDN and carried a bright spring bouquet with ranunculus, tulips, jasmine vine, peach Juliet roses, and poppies.

For the table, I envisioned a desert sunset color palette to contrast against the greens palms of the Oasis. Hollyflora used glazed white ceramic containers to hold spring blooms like poppies, ranunculus, king protea, camelia and kalanchoe leaves. A clean, industrial feel came from the rose gold colored tolix chairs from Found Rentals and complemented perfectly the rose gold flatware from Casa de Perrin. Dinosaur Egg Geodes were mixed in the floral centerpieces of the table and added a hint of desert texture.

Tucked in the wild bushes of the Oasis, a bar cart doubled as the cake table. Bright poppies and greenery clipped from the location decorated the cake, and peach bellinis served as the signature drink.

For the second look, the desert, we moved to Joshua Tree National Park. Our sophisticated, ethereal desert bride donned a pale pink Jenny Yoo dress from BHLDN and wore a delicate Orchidée de Soie gold floral headpiece. A pale pink bouquet contained king protea, pincushion protea, tulips, kalanchoe and perfectly complemented her dress.

A Boho Desert Inspiration Shoot with Major Dress Drama

This gallery had me at illusion lace, but what put it over the top was this floral kissed braid. OBSESSED! For this rural inspiration is desert chic done right.  The ultimate pairing of elegance with boho chic details, The Blooming Bud blossoms, and one gorgeous backdrop, Lucy Munoz captured it all for you to see in The Vault!

From Lucy MunozWe took to Joshua Tree National Park to create this amazing inspired bridal shoot. Surrounded by prickly and twisted Joshua trees, plus two deserts (the Colorado and Mojave, which meet right at Joshua National Park) made us feel like we were in such a glorious place! It’s no wonder people come here year after year. Our gorgeous gowns were by Sarah Seven and Xcite. We wanted a day to evening look and something that complemented the surroundings. We started off with the white Sarah Seven that looked amazing against the boulders. At dusk we transitioned to the black sheer evening gown by Xcite. We loved how it mimicked the twisted prickly branches of the Joshua trees. The Blooming bud’s gorgeous floral creations stopped us right in our tracks! She did both the altar and centerpieces that made us jump for joy. Sweet layers created the most spectacular cake with the most perfect hues of blues and golds. Megan Kelso created the beautiful invitation suite that complemented our whole look. In the end we lingered and lingered well after the light disappeared–It was so hard to say goodbye.

Twentynine Palms Wedding from Flashpoint Grafix

I think Joshua Tree is one of those spots if I went to visit, there would be no returning to the East Coast for me!  When Flashpoint Grafix sent over this desert stunner infused with natural beauty, personality and a killer backdrop, it was love at first sight. A New Creation Flowers & Gifts created amazing single-bloom maid’s bouquets and the bride planned and designed the rest of the ultra-hip 29 Palms Inn soirée.  Meet me in the gallery for so much more.

From Flashpoint GrafixThis couple is from Venice Beach, California — nearly the polar opposite to Twentynine Palms. The ceremony was at the Blessed Sacrament Church, the after-ceremony shoot was at Joshua Tree National Park, and the reception was held at The 29 Palms Inn. Joy has great creative vision. In her planning, she created another world for her guests, using Polaroid snapshots for the guestbook, DIY spanning pendants, a mirror chandelier, pink flamingos and potted cacti for souvenirs. All the out-of-towners got an extra special treat as the sun went down and left behind a clear, star-filled sky — a memory that’s hard to duplicate with so many city lights. Matt is a DJ, so naturally he brought a couple of his team to create the vibe, and he even planned a DJ set for himself in dedication to his new bride.
