Sunset Field Engagement at Mountain Winery

I swear, there is something magic about California light. And for all of you lovelies lucky enough to snap some pics amongst those pretty rays, consider me envious. Take these two for example, their images from This Love Of Yours Photography LLC are nothing short of sun-filled perfection, and you can see even more right here.

From the Bride to be…After over a decade of friendship, love, and laughter we are finally getting hitched. Matt and I met at San Jose State University where we both went to college. Matt was on the baseball team, and I played water polo. After dating for a few years Matt was drafted by the NY Mets in 2004 and our relationship went longer distance for the next seven years. We got engaged in Carmel, CA in May 2013 and will be married at Holman Ranch, in Carmel Valley, CA April 2014.

Being an event planner and in a relationship for over a decade I have had plenty of time to envision our special day and most recently our engagement shoot. Holman Ranch is pretty hard to compete with as a photo backdrop, so for our engagement photos I wanted a more simplistic setting. Erika and Michael of This Love of Yours Photography specialize in romantic, natural light photos that have that glowing effect. I knew they were the perfect photographers to capture this vision I had in my head. After months of pinning ideas and sharing them with Erika, she was pretty clear of what I wanted. We loved the photos and hope you do as well!

Saratoga Wedding at Villa Montalvo

We’ve got a two parter of pretty coming your way, and it’s all sitting in this oh-so-gorgeous post. This sweet as they come couple sent over their engagement session AND their wedding captured by Christina McNeill, and well, we fell in love with both. So be sure to soak up more of their e-sesh here, and just wait until you see their wedding waiting for you below…

See? How could you not fall in love with these two? Your love affair is about to go off the charts, because with one look at their stunning Villa Montalvo wedding (once again beautifully captured by Christina McNeill) you’ll know precisely why we just can’t get enough. Join us in here for more.

From the Bride…Our best man Josh Rose introduced us in 2010. I went to HS with Josh and Nick has known Josh since he was 9. From the beginning we knew that family and fun were the most important components of our wedding. We both live in San Francisco, but chose to have our wedding at Villa Montalvo near my hometown of Los Gatos. We knew we wanted a vintage theme and I suggested a Great Gatsby vibe. We chose black, gold and white since they are such classic colors and added feathers to go with the 1920′s décor.

My favorite moment of our wedding was when the last song came on. It was “Last Night on Earth” by Green Day and its one of our favorites. I saw Nick clawing through the crowd trying to find me for a last spin and he yelled out “where’s my wife??” It was the first time I had heard him use the phrase and I had to smile. All of the guests came together for the song and it was such a wonderful feeling having so much support for us on that special day.

If I could offer any advice, I’d say: sit back and really enjoy all that you worked so hard for. All those months of planning and running around like a crazy person really does pay off. I had a few moments were I almost went nuts but luckily I was surrounded by a few recent brides and they kept me grounded. I reminded myself that this day was about us. It wasn’t the décor, music or food and that thought made all stress sort of melt away.

Saratoga Wedding from Zoom Photography + Razor Byrne Video Productions

Home is where the heart is, so when it comes to weddings, I fully support making it a backyard affair. Especially when your backyard happens to be a slice of heaven in Saratoga. With its lush landscape, the bride’s family’s home was the perfect backdrop for these intimate I-do’s. Brought to us by the always lovely Lauri Levenfeld of Zoom Photography this September soirée is romance defined. So after you feast your eyes on the film from Razor Byrne Video Productions, check out the rest of this love-filled fête right here in the gallery.

Rachel & Garret from Razor Byrne Video Productions on Vimeo.

From the Bride… Garret and I went for a hike during Christmas vacation in the Saratoga hills while visiting family. When we got back to my parent’s house, hidden in the garden was a ring, a bouquet, and a carved rock with “marry me” inscribed on it. Garret got down on one knee and popped the question! I said yes, of course! When I ran inside to greet my family, Garret’s family was there. They had flown up from Los Angeles to celebrate with us too, which was such a wonderful surprise!

When choosing a wedding venue, I thought of the place that I loved the most and where I felt most comfortable. My parent’s home seemed like the perfect place! We had no real theme — we just wanted the vibe to be romantic and intimate, family-oriented and loving! We used soft creams, soft pink and black with the organic feel of succulents, vintage roses and hydrangeas in various low shaped vases and bottles plus burlap and linen runners in lieu of tablecloths, wooden farm tables and benches and metal Italian –style chairs.

One of the special ‘touches’ at our wedding was when my brother sang the seven blessings and all my nieces and nephews walked down the aisle … 11 total! Being surrounded by the people that meant the most to us was magical. Everything was beyond my wildest dreams. I cannot say enough about our vendors. Joanna Biondi of Café Primavera was beyond terrific. Food was hot and delicious, no lines at the stations and plenty to eat and drink all night. NO MISSES! Shawna Futagaki of Flower Divas was simply wonderful. She made every arrangement, ceremony flowers and Chuppah look like it was always there and they were exquisite. She worked so well with all of our vendors, often pitching in to assist others. Our coordinator, Stephanie Franco of SpotOn Events was just perfect and knew how to handle all of our different personalities – and keep us all so calm. Lauri Levenfeld, Zoom Photography, is a close friend of the family and once I saw her work, I was very happy. She tells a complete story and captured so much of us in the most unique ways!

We chose our cake based on what my husband, my father and I liked! My favorite bakery in Los Gatos, Icing On The Cake, made our three tiered cake – all different flavors: white cake with raspberry filling (my favorite), red velvet with cream cheese frosting (Garret’s favorite) and banana with cream cheese frosting (my dad’s favorite). I didn’t want a cake that was over the top. I wanted something simple, yet beautiful and elegant. I took elements of three separate cake designs and fused them together.

My favorite moment of the day was dancing with my dad and then dancing with my husband for the first time. Dancing in general was fun and watching everyone else dance their pants off made us both so happy. My brother Ari, sang our first dance, “You Send Me.” He also sang the last song of the evening, “Save the Last Dance for Me” with the band. Both were so touching and very memorable.

Right after the wedding we went to Maui and stayed at the Four Seasons for a few days to rest and relax. Next year, we plan to take a big trip to Southeast Asia or Europe for the real deal.
