These Marines’ Winter Wedding is The Royal Wedding 2.0

The Royal Wedding was undoubtably the wedding of the century, but this Marine Bride and Groom’s big day rivals Will and Kate’s own iconic day. With the Bride’s classic long sleeve lace wedding dress and her dapper Groom in his dress blues, these two look royal. And with Wish Wonder Dream‘s romantic winter touches throughout, Heather and Patrick’s big day was full of all the love and beauty they deserve. Witness all the pretty, captured by Brett Hickman Photographers, in The Vault!

From Wish Wonder DreamThis is one of those weddings and one of those couples who make us beam with pride. Heather and Patrick are true heroes. Both United States Marines, they’ve dedicated their lives to service and their country. They are also two of the kindest, most generous and grateful people we’ve ever met. Oh, and they are also MADLY in love! Planning with them provided it’s share of challenges, because they were constantly on the move and rarely available to plan together. They were often in remote locations, without means of communication. And they were never in the same place. But we were up to the task of working with such an inspiring couple and we worked hard to find ways to keep them involved and always up-to-date. It was really our honor to do so. Their day was filled with all the love and beauty they deserved. And the pride and support from their friends and family was palpable. Their winter wedding was beyond words and one of the most beautiful days, literally and figuratively, we’ve ever been part of. Their photographer, Brett Hickman Photography captured it with perfection (as always) and we’re just so appreciative, to say the least, to have been part of it.

From a Long Distance Romance to a Dreamy Pasadena Garden Wedding

When it comes to planning the perfect wedding, trusting your vendors is essential. Well, this beautiful Bride and her dashing Groom took that trust to the next level — booking the venue before seeing it in person and meeting most of their vendors on the day of their wedding. But, it’s safe to say they put their faith in the right people, because their Pasadena wedding, captured by Honey Honey Photography, is an absolute dream. Head to The Vault for every pretty moment!

From The Bride…We met through a mutual friend in 2012. Although we lived 500 miles apart, we managed to continue our flirtations over text messages, emails, and phone calls for 5 months. Our first date was in NYC. We ditched the dinner-and-movie idea and spent the whole day together, from morning to midnight. These day-long dates would continue for over a week. On the eve of my departure, James took me to the Brooklyn Bridge and asked me to be his girlfriend overlooking the stunning Manhattan skyline.

Our once-every-month or -two dates were abridged by countless Facetime talks, all of which were more precious than words could describe. We created many memories exploring the beautiful cities of NYC and Ottawa through the changing of seasons. On our second year anniversary, we came back to the Brooklyn Bridge. James got down on his knee and popped the big question.

Planning a wedding is like trying to multitask on a rollercoaster going backwards. Our greatest challenge was to plan everything remotely. We signed the contract with our venue before seeing it in person. And we met most of our vendors on the day of — yes, even my makeup artist. Thankfully, we couldn’t have asked for better vendors.

There were three possible locations to hold the ceremony: a garden with a fountain, under a giant tree, and on a bridge. We decided to go with the bridge over a cute pond. The setting was unique. We were surrounded by our guests 360 degrees, instead of having them just behind us. The aisle was a long beautiful staircase flanked by tall Italian cypress tress with a stately mansion as the backdrop. While walking down the aisle, my dad blessed me wholeheartedly. It was an unforgettable father-daughter moment.

Our wedding was in Pasadena on a beautiful day in October. We wanted our photos to be organic and full of emotions rather than have each shot be picture perfect. Emma and Allen from Honey Honey Photography did a stellar job capturing the full gamut of emotions and idiosyncrasies of each moment. When we open our wedding album 10, 20 years from now, I would want to see how much fun we had and recall all the emotions we shared. How perfect my hair was or how long my makeup lasted is secondary. So, one thing I would like to share with all the brides-to-be is don’t worry about how you will look in photos or if things will go perfectly as you had planned. Rather, just be in the present and enjoy every single moment!

Carefully curated for the bride who loves classic with a kick, Jenny Yoo’s 2016 Bridal Collection weaves traditional and modern stylings with a Great Gatsby-esque vibe that is alllll about the romance.  From the gorgeous illusion necklines to the stunning lace embroidery + beaded details to the dreamy skirts with soft + romantic floral prints, the attention to detail will leave you speechless.  Not to mention that the luxurious tulle, lace appliqués and ah-mazing fabrics like silk chiffon and crepe.  It’s classic simplicity meets deep plunging backs meets everything in between.  We love them.

Our jam?  Beautiful bridesmaid gowns that can be worn long after the wedding.  And Jenny Yoo’s 2016 Bridesmaid Collection is, well… made for re-wearing.  Think insanely gorgeous cuts and textures that are just as perfect for a romantic night out as they are for celebrating with your bestie.  I’m talking breathtaking metallics, beautiful hues and soft, luxurious fabrics that are totally unique, but seriously cohesive for a (sparkly) bridal party that really stands out.  And don’t even get me started on the metallic accents… we are obsessed.
