From The Bride…Aaron and I got set up three years ago by his best friend. I was the optimist considering my parents met on a blind date, but he was leery. This particular friend of 20+ years hadn’t set him up once! Any hesitation or nervousness we had melted away at the cozy neighborhood spot Jones in Hollywood. I was smitten with Aaron so I kissed him at the end of our date, he called me the next morning, and since that night we’ve been inseparable.
Our engagement weekend remains one of the most special weekends of our lives and the start of our celebration of love. Here’s how it happened! As a runner on my bucket list was running the New York City Marathon. I got into the 2014 race and dutifully prepared for it. Because I was so focused on the race I had no idea that Aaron was planning a proposal (and flying in my whole family) a few days prior to the race and a post-run surprise engagement party with fifty of our closest friends and family. Let me tell you, a girl can run a very fast marathon when she knows a diamond ring is waiting at the finish line!
Since we met and fell for each other in Los Angeles, we wanted our engagement shoot to reflect all we love about the city – great food, cool neighborhoods and spectacular sunsets. Looking at our engagement photos makes us enormously happy as they capture not only our love together, but the city that brought us together.
