Glamorous Hollywood Hills Anniversary Shoot

A dash of glitter, a fabulous Hollywood Hills locale and a whole lot of glamour: this, my friends, is an anniversary session done oh-soooo right.  From the crazy gorgeous couple celebrating one year of married bliss to the mesmerizing images from Kimie James of IYQ Photography.  Happy New Year?  Yes, indeed.  Click here for more.

From IYQ Photography… Francesca and Anthony have been married for a year and what better way to celebrate their first anniversary than with a glitzy flirty anniversary shoot in front of the iconic Hollywood sign over looking LA. We wanted to create a shoot that combined the iconic sign with some modern glam. Callie Morelli gave Francesca a fun, loose updo and created a natural evening makeup look.

Upcoming Trunk Shows at JLM Couture Flagship Salon

Sometimes I think about how fabulous getting to plan another wedding would be — especially if it meant dress shopping at the amazing JLM Couture Flagship Salon in West Hollywood. Known for their incredible selection of gowns and top-notch service, JLM is a first-stop when it comes to picking out the white dress.  This November, they’re hosting three incredible trunk shows that are not to be missed!

From November 7-9, 2014 JLM Couture will host a Hayley Paige show with designs straight from the 2015 spring collection as well as a designer appearance by Hayley Paige. The Alvina Valenta collection will be featured from November 14-16, 2014 with a designer appearance by Jessica Williams and from November 21-23, 2014 the Lazaro trunk show will take place with a designer appearance by Lazaro! I mean, does it get more amazing than that?! Not only do these shows showcase off-the-runway designs by some of the industry’s top designers, but you’ll also get to take advantage of special pricing!

Finding your dress at a trunk show definitely has its advantages (spoken from a past bride who bought at a trunk show!). JLM Couture is offering brides who purchase their gown at any of the three November shows a 10% discount! To request your appointment, head over here or call 424.249.3909!

Whimsical Hollywood Engagement Session

I feel like I could float on the tails of one of those balloons straight up to the moon! This LA engagement session simply has everything: love, confetti and, thanks to Sugarfix, delectable cookies. Also, have to give props to the bride-to-be for the super chic Parker and Alice and Olivia frocks. So feel free to wander through the wonderland-inspired shoot with Christine Farah‘s lovely photographs from the day.

From the Bride… Since our wedding was going to take place at The London West Hollywood, we wanted to create two different themes using this modern and chic venue. The theme of our engagement session took place in the garden area of the hotel which resembles an Alice in Wonderland charm. We recreated the tea party scene by having a luscious dessert table filled with “eat me” and “i do” cookies, white frosted cupcakes with mini hearts, confetti, and a splash of red and white flowers. We also wanted to incorporate the black and white chess board with the enormous chess pieces and have some playful shots. From there, we wanted to share the place we call home- and photograph ourselves on the Los Angeles 4th Street Bridge in the Arts District which is a mere 1,000 feet away from our backdoor. For this look, we wanted to create an elegant and more formal wear with a longer pale pink dress and a blazer and bow tie. As the sun was setting, we took a quick little jaunt over to the state historic park and continued capturing the warm sun setting while throwing confetti and being surrounded by love…

All-White Modern Hollywood Wedding

This wedding is out to prove that sometimes the sleekest, chicest weddings involve no color at all. Instead, they take the black and white basics and reinvent them into something truly special. The results? A classic church ceremony paired with a lounge-style reception designed by Two B Events that’ll likely find a place on your list of wedding favorites. Taylor Made Art captured the gallery, Taylor Hawkins crafted the film, and both gorgeous bits are too good to miss.

From Two B EventsCaitlin and Colin are one of those couples who infuse love and talent into everything that they do. Their wedding was the perfect blend of clean, crisp elegance combined with unique flourishes in a magical, energetic setting. They wanted things simple, but sentimental, and so a majority of the elements we incorporated into their day were purposefully chosen to honor their faith, family, and celebrate with the friends who had brought them together. Born and raised in Hollywood, Caitlin’s decision to get married in Tinsel-Town was more of a way to reflect her roots rather than a desire to be trendy. From getting married in the church her father had attended as a kid, to arriving at the reception in the vintage checker cab that she drove around as a teenager, the beauty of this wedding went far beyond lush, white roses and a stunning, custom-made gown to reveal the union of a bride and groom who simply “gets it”.

Both being musicians, it was divine providence Colin’s groom’s room was decked out with instruments, leading to an impromptu jam session before the ceremony, while Caitlin wore a ‘Save That Pillow’ tank while getting ready as a nod to a song she had written specifically encouraging women to wait for that special someone. After the bridal party processional, Colin’s dad (who was also the officiant) began the ceremony with a flawless, a cappella rendition of The Lord’s Prayer.

Because they had a long list of loved ones they wanted to invite, Caitlin and Colin chose a lounge-style reception at the historic Women’s Club of Hollywood in order to foster a more festive and communal atmosphere than a formal, sit-down dinner could provide. Guests were free to mingle under the chandeliers among cocktail tables and sofa arrangements while sipping on the father of the bride’s infamous martinis and helping themselves to a spread of artisanal meats, cheeses, hangar steak and wild mushroom ravioli. After being announced into the club via One Republic’s “Something I Need”, the couple was showered with heartfelt speeches from the bridal party before the first of two separate dance parties got underway.

Dessert of chocolate bread pudding and creme brulee were served while Caitlin and Colin sliced up their own triple berry shortcake (and yes, creamed each other in the process!). Guests were treated to engraved ‘Love’ key favors from The Giving Keys – the organization Caitlin herself founded in order to inspire hope, courage and paying it forward in others.

The night ended as Caitlin and Colin escaped under a confetti of white rose petals to their lovingly-decked out Checker, driving down Hollywood Boulevard demonstrating that real, authentic love is always the key to both a successful wedding and the start to a long-lasting marriage.

Hollywood Hills Engagement Session

Cocktails and bow ties followed by a sunset romp through the Hollywood Hills: this, my friends, is how you do a California engagement session.  It’s one very gorgeous duo meets a seriously good time meets all kinds of light-filled lovely from Maharaj Photography.  See every last second of pretty right here in the full gallery.

From Maharaj Photography… Marie and Dan both have a love for fine dining and cocktails, so they decided to start their engagement shoot at the restaurant Dan manages, Son of a Gun. They had the whole place to themselves to make cocktails, and even built a champagne tower to celebrate their engagement! They continued on with the vintage Hollywood vibe by roaming around the Hills at Sunset – such a romantic way to document their stage of life and the city they live in.
