Romantic Garden Themed Wedding

The second I saw that signature Chanel No 5 bottle, I just knew this wedding was going to be a beaut. And it lived up to any and all expectations with a few twists thrown in.  Sure there’s the classic garden florals by Enchanted Garden and the take-your-breath-away imagery by Erin J Saldana Photography. But there’s also a few equestrian details folded into the day and a film by Zomei Video Productions making it one for the record books.

Rustic Venue

This wedding was a romantic and charming celebration at Calamigos Equestrian Center complete with horses especially for the portraits. The couple opted to go the extra mile and pay for a hour with the horses for photos. All the lovely flowers and garden themed details were by Enchanted Garden Floral Design and there are lots of other DIY details by the bride, Evelyn. A cute “just married” sign from etsy and a friend made the tree “finger print” drawing for the guestbook sign in. The desert station featured a display of candies and favorite foreign treats. They had a secret swing dance choreographed and planned, so halfway through the reception they changed and made another grand entrance. A live band provided their music most of the night and a trusty ipod took care of the rest.

Burbank, California Wedding from Love & Lemonade Photography

Oh my gosh. Her gown is pink. But not an obnoxious I’ve-dyed-my-poodle-pink pink, more of an exquisite, creamy, elegant, and barely-there pink made to perfection by Lazaro. And I cannot think of anyone better than Love & Lemonade Photography to take a little girl’s dream of love with a fabulous dress and show how chic, flawless and grown-up this day truly was. Oh, and we can’t forget The Little Branch, who added whimsical sun-shiny florals that just make me want to smile, miss all my deadlines and spend the whole day getting lost in this very pretty gallery. Just kidding Abby!

From Love & Lemonade PhotographyFrom the DIY honey jar favors to the beautiful florals by The Little Branch, Bettina and Jonathan’s traditional Jewish wedding at Calamigos Equestrian in Burbank, CA was filled with romance and sweetness. And you will LOVE the bride’s frothy PINK Lazaro gown. I hope you love this wedding as much as I loved capturing every moment and detail.

From the Bride… When Jonathan proposed to me a year after we started dating, I just wanted to sit and bask in the happiness for a while. It took me 6 to 9 months to really get into the wedding planning. I quickly grew an addiction for wedding blogs, SMP being my most favorite. I spent countless hours trying to define our vision for the wedding and I finally understood that I just needed to trust my instincts. There is so much to choose from out there, it makes it easy to second-guess yourself. Being both from Europe, we really wanted the wedding to reflect our cultures, styles as well as our Jewish traditions. We decided to go for a French countryside theme (France being where I am from) and to incorporate rustic and elegant vintage elements. When I found my dress, everything else fell into places; it helped me come up with the color palette and décor (soft peach and tan were our colors). When planning the wedding, I always kept our guests in mind. We knew people would travel from all around the world (France, Canada, Germany, Denmark, Spain…); we really wanted to bring them together and create a night they would remember.

We also wanted the celebration to exude our love for each other, our mutual respect as well as our love for Nature and the outdoors, which is why we picked the Calamigos Equestrian as our venue. We put a lot of attention to the details and included a lot of handmade and DIY into our big day. As for our vendors, we chose them with our instincts again; I needed to be able to rely on them and feel confident they would translate our vision well. Photography was our #1 priority and working with Nina from Love and Lemonade was a true blessing. She made us feel comfortable and very relaxed. The months leading to the wedding were filled with flea market hunting for vintage décor elements and hours of crafting with my mother and my bridesmaids. Our wedding day turned out to be even better than what we dreamt of. It was truly a reflection of who we are and how we feel for each other. It was beyond magical. I think the most important aspect of our wedding is the fact that everyone had a great time and danced the night away. We felt the love all our guests had for us throughout the entire day.

My advice for the brides-to-be is 1. People will always want to share opinions you did not ask for around the wedding; Try not to pay attention. Design your wedding with your instinct, this is your big day after all. 2.Make your life easier by picking vendors you connect with on a personal level and that you can rely on. 3. Finally, let go of the small details and be in the moment the day of; not only is it the most beautiful day of our life, it is also the most fun.

Burbank DIY Wedding from Alders Photography

The weddings that often put the biggest smiles on our faces are the ones that filled from the tippy top to the very bottom with so much personality. The weddings where guests walk in and think “Oh my goodness, this is so them.” The weddings that give us a little peek into the personalities of the two lovebirds. And when the images are coming from Alders Photography, that might just push it a little further in the extra big smile direction. Click here for all of this fun soiree!

We met through a dating website, hit it off immediately and have been inseparable since. I adore the last scene in Breakfast at Tiffany’s where Paul proposes to Holly by leaving a ring in the taxi. Jase proposed to me in his car and once he recited, “I love you. You belong to me.” while holding the ring box, I immediately hugged him tightly with joy! It was Jase’s special way of proposing to me.

We wanted to keep the ceremony and reception areas close together for convenience since our family members were traveling from out of town. Calamigos provided a ceremony space and ballroom that next to each other. The garden area with a rock waterfall was the ideal place for us to exchange vows.

We chose fun, whimsical, light pastel colors like blush pink, champagne, yellow, tiffany blue and cream that would work well esthetically with the terrace/garden area for our ceremony.

Jase & I chose the theme, “You’ve Got Mail” for our wedding. We crafted mailboxes for our table numbers, garlands displaying lines from the movie, paper roses used for décor in the cocktail area, place card holders and cake. Our friend who is an artist helped create box characters as our cake toppers.

The officiant personalised our ceremony by incorporating lines from You’ve Got Mail. I’ll always remember walking down the aisle with my parents. My parents taught me how to love, the value of integrity and they are the reason why I found a man with a good heart. Dancing to Moon River with my father is another favorite memory

My best advice is not to worry about the small stuff. Jase and I budgeted well and cut down our guest list so we didn’t have any incidental expenses to worry about. We had missed a few details but we had the most perfect wedding day. It didn’t matter if there were little mishaps during the day because at the end of the night, it was just Jase and I and we were happy.

From He & She PhotographyByron and Michelle are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, and they carried this incredible calmness throughout their wedding day. The wedding took place near downtown Los Angeles, but you’d never know that while being surrounded by horses at the Calamigos Equestrian center. It was an awesome mix of city meets country! Tucked away next to the horse corrals, their ceremony was quaint with their closest friends and family there showing their support. You could tell the bride and groom spent tons of time working on hand made details spread throughout the ceremony and reception, which was a perfect way of telling their personal stories. Michelle’s maid of honor even hand-drew an illustration of the couple holding balloons (which were made out of the guests fingerprints) that they used it as a sign-in piece. Thank you, Byron and Michelle, for letting us share in such a huge moment of your lives.
