Casual Elegance at Altadena Town and Country Club

Get ready for a breath of fresh summery air, my dears. Pinks and corals and fresh grass aplenty and it’s making my heart ache for those sun-soaked June days to come. With a bright and beautiful gallery from Eyelet Images, I can almost smell the sweet bouquets and feel the warm breeze on my shoulders!

Country Club

From the beautiful Bride… Our goal for the big day was to throw an elegant yet youthful wedding with our favorite people in the world. Between the ballroom princess dress, the 1910 timeless architecture of the country club, and the stunning flowers the night was a true fairytale. The wedding was more than we could ask for and was beyond anything we had envisioned it could be.

With the help of my insanely talented aunt Sue Tippitt, also our florist, we were able to have the over the top garden feel we had wanted. She used a collection of varied colored blue/green succulents, coral and white garden roses, white dahlias, lambs ear, dusty miller, African imported berries and eucalyptus leaves. On top of the help with the flowers, a different incredibly talented aunt, Dana Parks, along with my grandmother helped me put together the tablescapes, ceremony programs, and delicious “H” embroidered coral sugar cookies. Many others, including parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and friends, contributed to creating the perfect wedding day for both Jeremy and me.

Given that we did not have an official wedding planner during our 9 month engagement, I decided to take on many of the wedding projects to create a unique and individualized touch. With a bit of an art background, I took the liberty of designing our wedding invitations. My maids were kind enough to help me with assembly while we watched our favorite TLC wedding shows. I also created our table numbers, escort cards, wedding signage, and other personal details.

We both envisioned our wedding in a beautiful outdoor garden so when we discovered the Altadena Country Club we were thrilled! The natural beauty of the venue made it easy to have an exceptionally stunning wedding. Sitting along the Sierra Madre mountains and overlooking the valley with its huge windows made the venue a must.

Our favorite part of the evening was definitely the massive dance party we had at the reception. We had the most energetic, fun group of people we could have asked for to make our party rock all night. Following the lovely reception and awesome dance party, we were sent off with a gallon of confetti. My great grandfathers 1930’s Clenet was waiting to whisk us away; the perfect ending to the perfect night!

Altadena California Wedding from onelove photography + Fresh Events Company

This is the kind of wedding that is way too cool for me. I could never pull it off they way they did, she in her vintage inspired gown (and gorgeous veil) and he in his bowtie and glasses. It is also the kind of wedding I would have sold my left arm to get an invite to. Fresh Events Company designed a day worthy of this ultra-glam couple, and lucky for all of us invite-less, onelove photography has provided us with a gallery so perfect, we’ll be in there for days.

From Fresh Events Company … Angela and Matt wanted their wedding to have a vintage, speakeasy throwback to the 1920s feel with inspiration coming from fun whiskey bars and Angela’s lace vintage dress. They invited a small group of their closest friends and family to attend their romantic candlelit ceremony followed by a delicious dinner with dancing, an ice cream station, and late night snack to top it all off!

Angela and Matt met the way a lot folks do today….online! They met for drinks at a nearby wine bar where they hit it off right away. Angela later found out that Matt had dinner plans with a friend that night that he kept pushing back so that they could talk longer. Their proposal is one out of a story book with Matt asking Angela in the rain while taking a walk in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco!

From the bride, “My favorite wedding moment was when the doors opened I walked in the room. I saw all the candle light, flowers and the fire in the fireplace. It looked so pretty, warm, and romantic and then to have all our close friends and family standing there was really overwhelming and special.”

Altadena Wedding by JAC Photography

So, this wedding is it. The cat’s meow. The bee’s knees. The icing on the wedding cake. It’s so obviously gorgeous and yet that’s not the only reason we are obsessed. The bride and the groom just happen to be two of the coolest people we’ve ever seen grace the pages of a wedding blog and the groom, just might be the best dancer ever. Of course we’re going to make you wait for it and force you to look at the insanely beautiful images first (painful, I know…ha), but mark my words, this couple is going to be your new BFF. Before we give too much away, here’s a first look at the wedding, captured by the awesome duo at JAC Photography, that has completely and totally stolen our hearts. Oh and there is more right here in the gallery.

And just to give you a little teaser of the dance moves coming your way, Peter of studio205films shared this amazing Same Day Edit (yes, he edited this gorgeous film the same day the couple tied the knot – how fabulous is that?) to keep this pretty party going until the next post!

From JAC PhotographyJudith and Aaron’s wedding ceremony took place at the Westminister Presbyterian Church, a very beautiful and traditional church. After the ceremony, the couple was showered with lavender, which was packaged in vellum envelopes and hand stamped- “throw me”.

The reception was at the Altadena Town and Country Club. There were so many DIY elements throughout the reception. From the empty picture frames that held place cards, to the collection of white vases that the bride picked up from various stores, to the AMAZING HANDMADE backdrop for their dessert table- each detail was lovely! The bride surprised the groom with a groom’s cake, the groom’s favorite basketball team emblem on top of it…the groom surprised the bride with a choreographed Justin Beiber dance routine! The day was just beautiful, full of soft pink florals and succulents, beautiful print material and a highlight was a same day edit from the wedding videographer!
