Mansion

From Taffete DesignsArtiese and I wanted to create a theme that would bring Cecil Green Park’s elegant and traditional, yet modern elements to life. Our focus was to enhance these already wonderful features of the mansion and were inspired by the beautiful sunsets we often see at the end of summer. We chose a warm palette of gold, blush, and taupe to compliment our vision for the shoot.

Taffete Designs provided classic vintage-inspired decor pieces to enhance the elegance of the venue. The Flower Factory’s bridal bouquet and centrepiece stunned with roses, ranunculus, peonies and orchids in beautiful bold colors. Post Calligraphy delicately designed the invitation onto acrylic glass and menus with matching place cards in gold ink on blush cotton paper that allowed us to incorporate modern elements into our romantic scene. The Sweet Bake Shop created the perfect naked cake and an array of delectable gold-flaked macarons. Our model, Christina, wore a silk white and latte lace and tulle bodice trumpet gown by Bliss by Monique Lhuillier from Bisou Bridal.

Elegant + Ethereal Wedding Inspiration

When it comes to dreamlike days, this next inspiration will make your heart skip a beat. Because not only is it overflowing with softly draped fabric, it also features several stunning Ines Di Santo gowns alongside ethereally elegant blooms. It’s basically a gallery suitable for daydreams. Vasia Photography captured it all to share and it’s waiting for you here!

From Vasia PhotographyIt was a dream come true for us to create a whimsical, fine art inspired editorial shoot for the attendees of the first ever Boheme Workshops! The inspiration behind the styling was to create a soft, pastel palette and organic but polished feel that would complimented the beautiful stone work on the terrace of Vancouver’s heritage Hycroft Manor. The house has so much history behind it and sits atop as slope with sweeping views of the city so it was the perfect spot to host our workshop and shoot. Along with the wonderful girls at Celsia Floral we created the concept and plan for the table and beautiful ceremony site with billowy draping and climbing greenery. Their botanical style was a perfect match for what we wanted to create!

We are very excited to announce that the team will be hosting our next workshop in Greece early this fall.

Romantic Cherry Blossom Engagement Session

This darling duo celebrated their new engagement with this stunning photo shoot, captured by Nadia Hung, under a canopy of some of the most beautiful cherry blossoms I’ve ever seen! Their love for each other — as well as their passion for vintage cameras — was captured so effortlessly in this ultra-romantic setting, we know you’ll want to take a peek at all the pretty in the gallery here!

From Nadia Hung Photography … How beautiful is this stunning patch of cherry blossoms? I was on the hunt for the most photogenic location for this shoot. The petals were blush and became the perfect canopy for Ada & Tim’s engagement shoot. Ada & Tim both have passion for vintage cameras and they wanted to include them in the session. Their wedding will take place in Hawaii this September.

Romantic Fall Vancouver Wedding

This Bride, an avid Downton Abbey fan, took the show’s elegant, almost regal style, and ran with it as wedding inspiration, and I must say, she totally rocked it. The finished results are moody and romantic, luxurious and just downright stunning, all captured for us to ogle at by Dallas Kolotylo. See it all here!

From Dallas Kolotylo Photography“Marsala, the colour of the year for 2015: a naturally robust and earthy wine red, a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth.” If you love the colour of the year and romance you will love this wedding!

From the Bride… Our inspiration for our wedding started off with our favourite season – fall. The leaves changing colours and the nature surrounding the season inspired us to choose our colour scheme. As an obsessed crazed fan of Downton Abbey, we used the vintage feel to inspire the décor, with a new-age twist. We wanted to capture the elegance and gracefulness of those times with hints of modern touches.

We woke up to a cloudy and rainy backdrop and immediately started to do the sun dance in the hotel room – glad to say it worked! The sun came out and it ended up being a gorgeous, picturesque fall day. We feel the colours we chose also complemented the venue beautifully. We kept it small and intimate – only close friends and family joined us for the occasion. The venue was so elegant and romantic, everything we envisioned our day to be. The brick complemented the colour scheme and décor and the elegant setting captured the day so beautifully. We wanted to find a way to incorporate family who weren’t able to make it, so we used old photographs in our décor as a tribute to our loved ones.

Food was the most important thing – we wanted our guests to eat well, drink well and enjoy themselves! It was all about keeping the guests happy. Having our wedding hosted by Brix surpassed our expectations – the food and staff were so friendly and professional, and the venue was absolutely perfect for us. We were so lucky to be able to work with such amazing vendors, all truly professionals. My favourite part of the day was dancing the night away to the sounds of Mark Anthony among other Latin sensations while watching my adorable grandparents who have been married for 65 years steal the show by out dancing everyone there.

We exited to a sea of sparklers into a 1938 vintage Buick limo. It was a perfect way to end a romantic fall night.

Romantic Boho Wedding on Vancouver Island

Barefeet and overflowing breathtaking bouquets can only mean one thing: we have a boho beauty on our hands right here. This summer wedding, captured by Christie Graham, has me embracing a more relaxed outlook for my own upcoming nuptials and Paul Behm’s film just reinforces that belief even more. Settle into your Monday in a much better mood with these pics right here.

From Christie Graham PhotographySurrounded by close friends and family, Jason and Mish recited heartfelt vows in the Groom’s grandparent’s backyard on Vancouver Island in late September. They couldn’t have imagined a more personal place to get married. Hand-crafted wooden benches, the perfect flower arch and countless other details were designed and built by the Bride and Groom in preparation for their summer wedding. Two dogs (one belonging to the couple, the other belonging to a friend) sporting fresh floral collars preceded the Bride down the aisle.

The Bride’s carefree, barefooted boho look (so gorgeous!) and the maids’ mismatching braided updos and dresses complemented the stylish menswear – crisp navy velvet jackets, cream chinos and bow ties – perfectly.

Gold, blush, navy, cream and wooden elements came together flawlessly, decorating the reception venue to perfection. Thoughtful signage, beautiful photo memories, unique furniture vignettes, vintage books, frill balloons, an intricate handmade head table backdrop and cream candles added a sense of romance and intimacy to the space.
