Elegant + Ethereal Bollywood Wedding Inspiration

Fun fact: We’re labeling this gallery as the ideal scroll session, perfect for the every girl. The lady who loves lush blooms layered with soft hues paired with texture. An elegant inspiration from Justine Milton that you’re going to want to bookmark ASAP. Because any day graced with Amy Sanderson and Birds & Honey magic is one you’ll want to revisit time and time again. Get started and see it all in THE VAULT!

From Mana of Birds & HoneyWe hoped to create a minimalist shoot that embodied a modern, effortless South Asian bride. A little bit of wind and a breathtaking bride were all the elements we needed as inspiration for this Bollywood inspired editorial. Most south Asian brides are accustomed to bold and brighter tones of deep red and pink tones when planning their weddings, but we wanted to showcase a softer, more muted touch for the modern bride. I find so much beauty in simplicity and showcasing softer, neutral palettes. There is still an element of the bolder homage to the beautiful culture of the bride with her stunning jeweled Lazaro gown while the florals balance everything out. The beauty is truly in the movement of the bride as she is walking towards a new adventure in her life and how the wind delicately blows her saree, her hair and the stunning silk and willow ribbon in her bouquet.

Romantic Summer Wedding at the Art Gallery of Alberta

Old mansions and art galleries are two of my favorite venue options, so why not combine the beauty of them both? That’s what Jennifer Bergman did when designing this bash right here; a sweet ceremony at the mansion, followed by a blush and gold celebration at the gallery. Eternal Reflections Photography and A Love Story captured every sparkling space and I can’t get enough of it all right here.

From the Bride… We wanted our wedding day to be a romantic, elegant celebration of our love, and for each guest to feel important and that they helped make our day come true.

We were married at a historic private estate and lucked out with beautiful weather for our outdoor ceremony. We setup a beautiful vintage hutch displaying our family members pictures who are no longer with us. Chad wrote his wedding vows on cue cards and each one had a word in large bold letters on the back. All together they read: “I will love you forever.” This was so touching and memorable.

Our reception location, The Art Gallery of Alberta, was transformed from a cool, contemporary venue into a very warm and romantic space. We mixed square and round tables with different linen combinations and centerpiece designs to add layers of texture and interest. I absolutely loved our unique head table backdrop which featured a frame of hanging floral stems!

My favourite moment of the evening was our first dance. I have always love to dance and now Chad enjoys ballroom dancing – in fact, we are still taking lessons together!

From the Groom… My favourite moment of the day was seeing Sheena for the first time at our ceremony. I remember waiting with such anticipation to see her appear from around a grouping of trees at the end of the aisle; she was absolutely stunning! I choked up instantly and held back my tears with all I had, feeling a complete and overwhelming sense of joy for what was to be for the rest of our days. I also loved walking into the reception at the Art Gallery of Alberta before everyone else and seeing what was created there knowing it was our night, out time, our special moment.

Fifties-Themed Valentine Boudoir Session

If ever there were a perfect time of year for love letters and boudoir beauty, this would be it. On the eve of Valentine’s Day weekend when romance it at a high and dreamy images like these from Justine Milton make your heart beat a little faster. And with a nod to Grease, it’s fifties theme is so on point. Get your blush on in the gallery.

From Justine MiltonThis session was designed with the song “Frankie My Love” from the Greece soundtrack in mind. There are love letters written and exchanged with the girls long distance love. The shoot has a bit of a 50’s vibe with the antique desk & the high wasted lingerie.
